Chapter 165: [165] : The Server Merge, Welcome to the Neighborhood

Declan stood perfectly still on the highest battlements of the Iron Bastion’s western wall.

The toxic rain of Sector 7 washed over his pitch black Predator’s Coat, sliding harmlessly off the mutated fabric without leaving a single drop of moisture behind.

He rested his hands on the cold iron railing and stared out into the dark smog choked wasteland.

Sloane, Morgan, and Nova stood a few feet behind him on the heavy stone walkway.

They were completely silent. The sheer tension in the air was thick and suffocating.

They were staring at the exact same thing Declan was looking at.

About two miles away, stretching endlessly across the horizon, was the boundary wall.

It looked like a towering sheet of gray hissing television static that went all the way up into the dark clouds.

It was the hard coded server wall separating their slum sector from the highly militarized Sector 6.

But the static was failing.

The gray wall flickered violently, revealing quick flashes of the world on the other side.

Through the glitches, Declan could see towering pristine white bunkers, massive military runways, and the sleek skyscrapers of the corporate guilds.

He could also see the monsters.

The system timer in the corner of his vision ticked down.

[00:00:05]

"Here we go." Declan muttered, rolling his shoulders.

[00:00:03]

[00:00:02]

[00:00:01]

[00:00:00]

BONG!

A massive deafening bell chimed across the entire planet.

It didn’t just ring in their ears. It vibrated directly against their physical brain stems, ignoring eardrums entirely.

It felt like a heavy iron gong was struck inside their skulls!

A glaring gold system prompt unrolled across the dark sky.

[Global Server Announcement: Sector 6 and Sector 7 Merge Complete.]

[Warning: Extreme environment overlap detected. Equalizing local entity populations.]

The physical world screamed.

The massive wall of gray static shattered like a pane of cheap glass!

Millions of digital fragments rained down into the mud, completely dissolving the barrier between the zones.

The game engine violently stitched the two landmasses together. The ground heaved and buckled.

The ruined concrete highways of Sector 7 slammed into the pristine steel roads of Sector 6, crushing together and forming a jagged unnatural borderline of broken asphalt and torn metal.

The toxic smog of the slums rushed forward, bleeding aggressively into the clean air of the corporate sector.

The new horizon was completely revealed. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Sector 6 was supposed to be a safe zone.

It was supposed to be a highly guarded military stronghold run by the Praetorian Guard and Titan Heavy Industries.

It was where the corporate elites hid behind massive armies.

But it was burning.

Massive plumes of thick black smoke rose from the white bunkers.

The corporate skyscrapers were heavily damaged, with glass raining down into the streets.

The Abyssal Tide event hadn’t been cleared out over there.

Without a Warlord to delete the monsters, Sector 6 was completely overrun!

And now, the wall keeping those monsters out of Sector 7 was gone.

"Oh my god." Sloane whispered, gripping her green healing staff.

Her knuckles were completely white, and her eyes were wide with pure terror.

Pouring out of the burning military bases and rushing across the newly formed border was a literal ocean of monsters!

They weren’t the Level 20 Flesh Stalkers that Declan was used to farming in the alleyways.

These were high tier digital horrors.

Massive heavily armored Abyssal Knights riding skeletal horses made of dark matter charged forward.

Towering Level 60 Siege Golems with glowing red laser eyes stomped across the ruined highway, crushing abandoned cars into flat pancakes with every heavy step.

Above them, flocks of corrupted wyverns blotted out the sky, their jagged wings cutting through the rain.

There were hundreds of thousands of them.

And they were all looking directly at the glowing purple energy dome of the Iron Bastion!

To the monsters, the Warlord’s city was a massive beacon of uncorrupted data.

It was an all you can eat buffet sitting right in the middle of a ruined wasteland.

The horde roared.

The sound was a terrifying mix of metallic screeching and guttural monster growls that physically shook the iron wall Declan was standing on.

They surged forward like a tidal wave of death.

"Declan." Morgan said, her voice tight with professional panic.

She pulled out her +10 combat daggers, her stealth suit shimmering faintly.

"That is an endgame wave. We don’t have the numbers to hold the wall against Level 60 elites! They will crush the gates!"

"We don’t need numbers." Declan replied smoothly.

He didn’t even pull his hands out of his pockets. He didn’t pull out a weapon.

He just tapped his administrative interface with his mind.

"Bram." Declan’s voice echoed through the city’s comms channel, completely calm. "Turn the guns on."

Down in the courtyard, the old Artificer slammed his black obsidian fist onto the main control console.

"Auto targeting engaged!" Bram roared back over the radio. "Firing at will!"

The Iron Bastion woke up.

The four massive Sovereign Void Artillery cannons mounted on the main gates hummed with a terrifying deep vibration.

The tiny black holes spinning between their prongs rapidly expanded, sucking the ambient light right out of the air.

The heavy metal groaned as the weapons locked onto the charging army.

They didn’t fire explosive shells. They didn’t shoot plasma.

They fired pure conceptual deletion.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Four concentrated beams of localized gravitational force shot out from the city.

They crossed the two mile distance instantly and slammed directly into the front line of the charging Abyssal Knights.

There was no clashing of armor. There was no fiery explosion.

The gravitational beams hit the Level 60 monsters and instantly crushed their physical models into tiny perfectly square cubes of scrap metal and digital blood!

The physics breaking damage completely bypassed their heavy armor stats, treating them like literal paper.

The beams didn’t stop.

They tore through the vanguard, carving four massive perfectly clean trenches straight through the center of the monster army.

Thousands of high level entities were deleted in a single second!

Up in the sky, the corrupted wyverns shrieked and dove toward the city.

The +20 Sovereign Anti Air batteries lining the walls immediately tracked them.

The sleek turrets spun upward, aiming directly at the flock.

BZZZT!

Dozens of blinding blue EMP blasts erupted from the turrets.

The physics breaking static slammed into the flying monsters, instantly scrambling their digital code.

The wyverns froze mid air, their wings locking up completely.

They dropped out of the sky like heavy stones, shattering into millions of blue pixels the moment they hit the muddy ground.

It was an absolute unilateral slaughter.

The monsters didn’t even get within a mile of the city walls.

The automated defenses were just casually deleting them as fast as they spawned.

The massive Abyssal Knights and Siege Golems were turned into digital dust before they could even swing a weapon.

Declan stood on the wall and watched his system interface absolutely flood with notifications.

[Multiple Enemies Defeated!]

[Origin Points +25,000]

[Multiple Enemies Defeated!]

[Origin Points +40,000]

The numbers scrolled by so fast they looked like a solid blur of white text.

His treasury balance was rocketing upward by the millions without him ever lifting a finger.

Declan smirked.

He pulled out a tin cup of hot dirt flavored coffee from his digital inventory and took a slow highly satisfied sip.

"Passive income." Declan noted happily, watching the absolute destruction of the monster army. "I love this game."
