Chapter 31: Earth Milk Liquid!

"Dragon Breath!"

"WHOOOOOOSH —!"

Blue flame erupted from both throats simultaneously into a two of concentrated pillar of blue fire that washed over the Elite Grey Rat from point-blank range.

At this distance, there was no escaping.

"Skreeeeeee—!"

The rat twisted around and writhed around like a demon in exorcism as the blue flames burnt it entire body.

[-100 HP]

[-100 HP]

[-100 HP]

[-100 HP]

[-100 HP]...

The numbers started popping up fast, until the final notification cut through everything else.

[Ding! 1-Star Elite Beast "Grey Rat" killed!]

[You’ve gained: 30 EXP | 10kg Meat | Flerier’s Ring (Bronze) | Rat Transformation Skill | Bronze Treasure Chest | 5 Attribute Points | +1 Reputation Point]

5 free attribute points from one beast. Apart from treasures and skills, free AP was one of the reasons people hunted elites and bosses.

These free attributes is what raise people above the rest. It’s what different the elites Ultras from ordinary people.

Andrew deactivated Wild Magus and his extra arms retracted, his second head snapped back into his shoulder as his body reduced back to normal size.

He let out a light sigh and walked to the scorched remains of the Elite rat and activated his extraction ability on what was still intact.

[Ding! 0.5 Strength extracted]

Andrew pursed his lips. ’I should stop using Chaos Dao Flame so much. Burns the bodies.’

He worked through the other corpses methodically. By the time he was done, he’d pulled 3 Strength, 5 Agility, and 2 Mana out of the remains.

He looked around and saw he was at the end of the cave. There were bones everywhere with had eaten corpses.

Andrew turned and walked back toward the entrance where the three tunnels split apart.

The girl still hadn’t come back.

His eyes lit up slightly. ’Did she die?’

If she had, he could extract her talent and bloodline. That grade of bloodline wasn’t the kind of thing you passed up. That kind of opportunity didn’t knock twice.

Then he frowned. ’She’s a Godscion, even if she died, she will probably revive.’

He’d remember that lesson. Mind his own business next time. Don’t help strangers in dungeons. No good deed and all that.

He was already turning toward the center tunnel when he heard a massive explosion from the tunnel she’d entered. Dust poured out of the passage as debris skittered across the stone floor.

Then light footsteps started sounding out and getting louder.

He then saw the girl as she walked out.

Andrew went quiet for a second.

She was covered head to toe in dark red blood. Pieces of flesh clung to her spear. There was brain matter in her hair.

She looked like a painting of a war goddess with golden wings folded behind her, blood-soaked spear in hand, completely calm, like she’d just taken a pleasant evening stroll through someone else’s nightmare.

The moment she noticed him looking, her cheeks went red and she smiled shyly.

"I didn’t met with the Rat king or see those children."

She said in a small voice.

Andrew nodded his head and turned toward the center pathway. Then it seems the rat king and the kids were in the center path.

"Since we’re a team — I’ll pull the Rat King’s aggro while you get the kids out. Once they’re clear, come back and we finish it together."

The girl was slightly stunned. She wanted to argue but seeing Andrew’s resolute face, her shoulder drooped and she nodded her head dejectedly, releasing a small ’Hm.’ of acceptance.

"Alright let’s go."

-----

The center tunnel grew wider the further they went — the walls pulling back, the ceiling climbing, the air growing heavier.

By the time it opened up, they were standing in a cave easily the size of a football field. The ceiling was high enough that the darkness ate it completely.

And at the center of it all was the King Grey Rat.

At the very center of the cave was a massive beast about 5 meters tall. The moment Andrew’s eyes locked in on the beast, its information popped up.

The moment Andrew’s eyes found it, the information came up.

[Name: King Grey Rat]

[Grade: 1-Star BOSS]

[HP: 1000 / 5000 / 10,000]

[Level: 5]

[Combat Index: 500]

[Info: An ordinary rat that found a pool of Earth Milk Liquid. Years of drinking and bathing in it developed its intelligence to that of a 6-year-old child. It became the King Grey Rat.]

[System: Team Combat Index too low. You only have one life. Don’t waste it.]

Andrew’s expression changed.

This was the second time he was seeing a heath bar on a beast and not only did it have an health bar but three instead!

Three health bar? How could a beast possibly possess three health bars, it should be impossible right?

As Andrew’s face changed, the girls face also changed but instead of turning pale, her eyes lit up with pure golden flames. Her mouth parted slight as her tongue licked her bloody lips unconsciously as her wings twitched.

Andrew glanced at her sideways.

’This girl is slightly scary, o.’

Andrew quickly activated the team’s communication and he spoke in his mind. "Hey! Remember the plan!"

The girl suddenly came to and she turned to him and reluctantly nodded.

Andrew scanned the rest of the cave. Off to one side sat a pool of milky, almost transparent liquid.

It was actually the Earth Milk liquid!

[A/N: When I asked for 20 power stones within 24 hours, I didn’t think it would be possible (secretly sweating) but you guys actually did it within a few hours which is really insane. 😅 I’ve been writing overnight and tried my best to meet up with the promised mass release.]
