A blue screen enlarged in front of Killian and George, blinking per second. They narrowed their eyes at it, then George sighed. "There is only one thing to do."
Killian glanced at the blinking screen then back at George. The screen said that his sister’s WLog was last registered at the portal of the C-tier (Hidden A-tier realm) and specifically at time, entrance-Gama. That didn’t show an exact location to Killian, unless entrance-Gama was a place. "What is the one thing to do?" Killian asked, nervousness eating him up inside.
"Let’s prepare you for the Academy." George said dryly, leaving his seat. He ignored Killian’s disbelieving stare on him as he opened the door wide. "I will go alone. You should go and—"
"What the hell are you talking about!" Killian sprang from his seat. "Are you also taking my sister’s life as a joke! I am not leaving until I know where exactly—"
"The portal, entrance-Gama, is two districts away from the Academy. On our way to the academy, I will stop by and hopefully get her to the academy for treatment depending on how she is."
Killian’s eyes softened, as he fell back to his seat. There was finally a location, finally a plan to find Quara. "Okay," he nodded slowly. "But I am going with you. I must."
"No, it’s too dangerous—"
"I know it is but I don’t think... no, I am sure I won’t be in a state of mind to fight in the academy. I would rather take it out on anyone that took my sister."
George sighed, running his hands through his hair. He glanced back at the screen, and then at Killian who he knew would be difficult to convince.
"Only a Warden of rank higher than the missing Warden can go search for her. That is a rule. Also, you would hold me back." George had the condescending tone that made Killian frown.
With a thought, Killian lit up the WLog. He stared at the contact of the S-Rank assigned to him. "Can more than one Warden go search for her, meeting the criteria?"
George closed his laptop. "Yes, but it’s best to not go about telling everyone that your sister got hurt in a C-tier realm. It will affect her reputation."
"It is a hidden A-tier."
"That is only what we deduced but realms don’t change tiers so easily, you know. It’s still just a realm filled with orcs." George hung his bag on his shoulder. "Stay put now. I will see you at the academy when I return with her."
Killian said nothing, his eyes remaining on the WLog screen that George couldn’t see. When the door closed behind George, Killian immediately dialed Mr. Jenovan’s number.
"Yes, I will take your offer."
.
.
"Are you Killian Dominic?" Her voice was soft with a singing tone that made others want to listen to what she had to say.
Her blond hair fell in effortless waves, framing her face, and the small crown sat over her head. Her dark blue eyes were unreadable as she stared at the boy, with her arms behind her.
Killian’s eyes swept her frame once, feeling intimidated by her calmness and the difference in mana between them.
He could feel the slow seep of mana even when she did nothing but look elegant while wearing a rather quirky leather dress.
"Hmm." That was all he said, not making eye contact.
Lady Helen smiled, one that was both composed and amused. She uncrossed her legs, placing her blue leather boots on the small table. "You said in your text... you want my help, right?"
Killian stared at her raised boots on the table. He hid his thoughts from showing on his face.
"Yes, I do."
Her smile was still on her face. It was as if her face could never be stiff, yet never feel too much. "How badly do you want it?"
The odds that her request wouldn’t be something odd was growing leaner with the type of questions she asked, but it didn’t worry Killian. "Not so badly actually. I mostly want your badge to enter the realm to reach my sister. You can tag along if you want." He said honestly.
There was a crack on her smile, but it curved back up almost immediately, though her eyes had lost the amusement. "You just want me to tag along? Me, Lady Helen?"
Utter confusion was evident in her tone, but it was even less than the bewilderment on her face when Killian nodded. Her leg dropped hard on the ground.
"If the realm is a hidden A-tier, are you sure a D-Rank Warden—"
"C-Rank." Killian corrected, folding his arms. He didn’t know if she said that to undermine him or really forgot, but while she played around his sister’s life grew more bleak.
"I will speak clearly. Yes, I will do my best to handle whatever I meet there. I have handled it before. My only other request is that you keep whatever I do in the realm a secret afterwards."
He had plans to do anything he could, including using the Void and Corrupted Fire if need be. He would try to hide the tendrils under the fire but if it still exposed him, then let it be.
Lady Helen chuckled lightly, and it was a beautiful sound but Killian had other problems at the moment. She gracefully raised herself off the seat.
"Agreed. We shall leave at once. This will be interesting. I will save you only when you’re at death’s door. Only and only then."
She was a healing Mage that had the reputation of bringing back the dead, so Killian knew she meant every word.
He agreed. "Very well. Can that grace also be extended to my sister when we find her? She might need it urgently."
For a brief second, Helen’s expression softened before she looked away from him. "When we find her, I will make that decision."
She said firmly. Her blond hair swayed behind her as she sauntered towards the door. "For now..."
She glanced back at him, her eyes shimmering a coral blue, having a trident-shape ember bloomed inside of them.
"Raise your bloodlust above sea levels."
