Chapter 1835: Skyward Revitalizes Once Again (IV)
The Dragon master was still turning over the latest development when Red Moon looked at the Light master, then at Skycloud and the Dragon master. Red Moon cursed to himself, those two bastards are still yet to use their full strength!
That draconic bastard keeps goading me to take action, screw you buddy!
Red Moon really did want to take down Light, but these two assholes with dao universes refused to invest their full force! Red Moon was highly irritated. He was a wandering cultivator and had limited dao strength to utilize. They had much more!
But now that Skyward was awakening, their attention was completely elsewhere! Would they keep attacking Light?? Absolutely not!! Skyward was more important than Light, damn it!
Red Moon had no other choice available to him. He looked at Skycloud—as expected, the man was looking back at him. The latter hesitated, nodded, and opened a passageway to his dao universe.
Skycloud had decided to go without requiring further discussion. And... he vanished in the blink of an eye.
Red Moon had thought that the guy would bring him along, but Skycloud had run off by himself. What the hell?!
Red Moon raged before he disappeared as well. Skycloud had gone off first to increase his chances at getting the dao universe.
The Dragon master frowned to see his two allies run off. He shook his head and returned to Dragon major world instead. Three massive dragons appeared to lift the world on their shoulders and advance forward!
The Dragon master wasn’t going to simply extend his dao universe to the destination. Even though Skyward was revitalizing, it wouldn’t reawaken its dao origin so quickly. He had a bit of time to spare!
No one said a word or paid attention to the Light master. The man looked hesitant. Should I go? If I go, will these three continue to attack me?
He thought it over and felt that Skyward’s dao universe was so hotly contested that these three would probably be unable to continue their alliance. He set his jaw, decision made.
“You guys stay back on defense.” The Light master addressed Flare Sun and the others. “Be careful. I’m going for a look and will return as soon as possible if the situation seems off! Skyward has recovered rather quickly... so this is weird!
“According to my calculations, one hundred years would’ve been a solid and even short timeframe, but it’s only been a few days. Its official awakening is taking place today!”
This didn’t make sense! But he needed to take a look with his own eyes to be at ease.
......
At the same time, Skyward.
The Human King stood at the peak of the world. The dao universe shifted with activity, trying to create a phenomenon that would convince eighth ranks that the dao universe was about to awaken.
In that case, regular methods wouldn’t do the trick.
There was a cold look in the Human King’s eyes. He wore a grave expression on his face!
He’d accessed the Skyward dao universe and started the revitalization process somewhat in the true sense of the word. He’d joined hands with the Ash Emperor to deploy the dao of yin and yang so they could reverse it!
They were transforming death to life!
However, this meant that they would have to pay quite a price for it and could only maintain the revival for a certain period of time. It also resulted in a massive thunder tribulation that outsiders did not sense.
The Ash Emperor had swallowed the entire tribulation.
The big cat shuddered with agony and blood poured from it. The Human King caressed the cat, comforting it and murmuring, “Just keep it together! Keep it together for a little while longer. We’ll... have big fish to eat!”
He grit his teeth. Few were the occasions in which he suffered a loss. But since this was in pursuit of dealing with strong enemies, that could be tolerated. He would collect ten times interest on this!
No, one hundred times, one thousand times!
The Human King looked at the star sparkling in the sky, the dao star that seemed to be coming back to life. The reversal of yin and yang had caused even a change in the dao universe.
He ventured deep into the depths of the universe to look at the silent star.
“I’m borrowing your place for a bit!” he suddenly sniffed. “You’ll recover faster too if I kill people in here. Stop staring at me, or I’ll lose my temper soon!”
With that, he chuckled and looked at the Ash Emperor in pain. “We’re leaving, Big Cat. Let’s go out first and be the last to enter!”
The dao star shimmered when they left and an eye seemed to open within it. Its radiance lingered for a very long time!
......
In an unknown spot of the chaos.
One particular sculpture among countless opened its eyes again and raised its eyebrows.
The youngsters over at the four regions were really quite daring. They’d borrowed Skyward’s dao universe again and again to plot against others. How very bold and decisive! Now they’d even reversed yin and yang! Would it be nice to resurrect a seventh rank with that strength?
They were bored out of their minds, weren’t they?
And they’ve got quite a temper, don’t they? How dare they threaten me?
“He seems to be from that world as well...” He’d glimpsed a cultivator of time last time and was now seeing someone who could reverse yin and yang. These two might come from the same origin—that same world!
How interesting!
Were these two from the same world? Did this world specialize in producing perverse geniuses? What did they want with eating the falsehood of Skyward awakening ahead of time?
The sculpture soon shut its eyes once more. Skyward needed a bit of time before it could officially revitalize. Not even reversing yin and yang would do the trick. But some interesting things were there to be seen this time, it had been well worth opening its eyes.
......
Skyward was reawakening.
Large numbers of exalted emperors gathered near the major world. There were seventh and eighth ranks, with even a portion of sixth ranks that wanted a portion of the spoils.
There was nothing in it for those who were even weaker. Sixth ranks, at the very least, dared make a try. They should have a chance of making it to seventh rank if they succeeded. But fifth rank? There was no hope for them.
Powerhouses from the three regions rushed toward Skyward. Anyone with a dao star could enter the dao universe. If they did not have one, they could only rely on the largesse of others who did. It would be very hard to get inside otherwise.
As for coming out, that was also simple.
Anyone with a dao star could freely come and go, now that the dao universe had revitalized. Granted, if the star went out and the universe fell back to silence, then the holder might be trapped inside.
Powerhouses working together could still punch a hole out of the dao universe. That was what they did last time. But since the dao universe was officially starting to revive, who would extinguish their dao star?
Powerhouses arrived in the vicinity, but some were hesitant and debating whether to go inside. What if the first to go inside was mobbed by the rest?
This was when the Skycloud master arrived. He stared at the major world for a while. Should he head inside? It looked to be truly coming back to life.
The dao star in his hand was sparkling and answering the universe’s call. It looked like it would be able to access the dao universe anytime.
He’d obtained only one dao star last time after working together with Red Moon. The crux of the issue had been that Li Hao wasn’t willing to give them one. Should he leave Red Moon behind and go inside himself?
But... the Dragon master was fierce and with the opening of Skyward, perhaps New Martial and Blazing Sun might set aside their current conflict.
Skycloud was not the most premier among the eighth ranks. And once he was inside, his own strength would be suppressed. He wouldn’t even be able to leave through his own dao universe. Red Moon wouldn’t have ended up in such dire straits last time. He would be isolated inside.
Finally, he thought of how Blazing Sun seemed to be colluding with outside powerhouses. On New Martial’s side, both the Ash Emperor and Human King were peak seventh rank. The Dragon master was a force to be reckoned with...
The Skycloud master began to hesitate as these thoughts surfaced in his mind. He’d been ready to abandon the Red Moon master, but if he did so at this junction, that would be making an enemy out of the man.
Red Moon might be able to enter the dao universe with other seventh ranks. Regular seventh ranks wouldn’t risk antagonizing Red Moon, since it was yet to be decided who Skyward belonged to.
Red Moon arrived before long. He hadn’t traveled with too much urgency since it was his opinion that Skycloud might have entered as well. But to find the man still present when he arrived... was rather surprising.
“My apologies, Brother Red Moon,” the Skycloud master explained. “I was in a hurry to reach this spot just now and determine the truth of the dao universe's awakening. I didn’t have time to take you with me. The Silver Moon king and Sword Sovereign faked a revitalization last time, so I was worried they were up to their old tricks...”
He gave a passable excuse for his actions, whereas the Red Moon master quickly understood what was on Skycloud’s mind.
Red Moon would be stronger than Skycloud if he still had his dao universe, which indicated that Skycloud wasn’t all that strong. Fog Mountain’s departure had nearly sent him plummeting from the heights of eighth rank!
Clearly, Skycloud wasn’t confident that he could handle anyone else.
The same went for Red Moon.
Red Moon quickly assessed the situation and flashed a smile. “I understand. Thank goodness Brother Skycloud is alert and on the ball. It was a sham last time, if it’s the same thing this time... that would be giving Light a chance...”
He glanced at skyward as he spoke, but was convinced that the revitalization was real this time! Although the dao universe was yet to appear, its dao stars were so radiant that they were piercing through the dao universe. All of Skyward shook as more dao strength materialized.
Everything was hovering in and out of sight, but it truly existed.
There were even some shadows flickering over Skyward. Last time they’d all vanished because the dao foundation sites had been destroyed. So with their resurgence... meant that this was real, right?
More and more seventh ranks gathered in the surroundings, almost all of them having rushed over through their dao universe. They looked solely at the two eighth ranks.
