Starting Check-in Reward: Tomson Riviera
Chapter 7: The Green Tea Cat Goes Online
"So you’re the real tycoon, and here you were calling me a rich girl..."
Ning Ruoxi pouted.
Compared to a mansion like this, what was a mere Porsche Cayenne?
"What? Are you tempted? Beg me, and I might consider making you my kept woman."
Ye Ling chuckled, teasing her.
"If you keep being such a smooth-talker, I’m going to ignore you!"
Ning Ruoxi huffed.
"Come on, let’s head inside."
Ye Ling shrugged and opened the door.
However, the moment he opened the door, he regretted it.
A fat, blue-gray cat was lying by the entrance, looking up at Ye Ling with a faintly reproachful gaze.
"Wow, what an adorable kitty!"
Ning Ruoxi exclaimed, then turned to Ye Ling. "Can I hold him?"
"Maybe not. This little guy is shy around strangers..."
However, Ye Ling trailed off mid-sentence.
Because Ning Ruoxi had already scooped Zhao Cai into her arms. More importantly, this little fellow, who usually treated Ye Ling with utter disdain, was now fawningly licking her neck!
"Ye Ling, what were you just saying? That Zhao Cai is shy? I didn’t quite hear you..."
Ning Ruoxi gave him a suspicious look.
Ye Ling glanced at Zhao Cai, who was now nestled in Ning Ruoxi’s arms with a look of pure bliss, and his lip twitched. "N-nothing."
’This lecherous cat, ditching his master for a pretty face!’
Since Ning Ruoxi was present, Ye Ling couldn’t discipline the cat right then and there, but he’d already made a mental note to settle the score later.
However, Zhao Cai seemed completely oblivious to the gravity of the situation. He continued to nuzzle his head against Ning Ruoxi’s chest while shooting a contemptuous look at his master.
"Very good."
Ye Ling’s gaze was dark. ’Dozens of different plans for neutering this little traitor were already running through his mind...’
...
After Ning Ruoxi left, Ye Ling wasted no time in giving Zhao Cai a sound "thrashing." Afterward, he flopped onto the sofa, stroking the cat while enjoying the plush cushions.
After his "beating" from Ye Ling, Zhao Cai didn’t dare act up again. He lay there obediently, letting Ye Ling have his way with him.
Just look at that vacant stare!
But Ye Ling paid no mind to the little drama queen. He had barely used any force, yet the little rascal was already putting on a pitiful act.
He lay on the sofa, his gaze drifting to the skyscrapers outside, whose lights had come on without him noticing. He felt a little dazed.
So many incredible things had happened in just the past two days.
He’d found a Blue Cat, obtained a system, and even gotten a luxury mansion at Tomson Riviera for his very first check-in!
He’d always thought these sorts of plots were just wish-fulfillment fantasies from web novels, never imagining they would one day actually happen to him...
Suddenly, Ye Ling’s phone pinged. He picked it up and glanced at the screen, seeing that Ning Ruoxi had sent a few photos. He tapped on them and discovered that besides a couple of selfies they had taken together, the rest were all candid shots of him!
And the angle...
It was rather hard to describe.
[Ning Ruoxi: I’m home! happy.gif]
[Ye Ling: Hey! You were secretly taking unflattering photos of me!]
[Ning Ruoxi: Hehe, I think you look great in them.]
[Ye Ling: I’ll get you back next time.]
[Ning Ruoxi: No!!] 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
[Ye Ling: And you think that’s up to you?]
[Ning Ruoxi: Well, you can’t take secret pictures of me! If you do, I’ll bite you!]
[Ning Ruoxi: Okay, I have to go for now. I want to touch up that painting from East Asia.]
"That girl."
Ye Ling put down his phone and shook his head with a helpless smile, the corners of his lips curling upward.
Ning Ruoxi had shown him her paintings before, and they were genuinely good. He’d heard she was a moderately famous artist online, with many people paying high prices for her work.
Just as Ye Ling was about to get some rest, his phone rang again.
"Hello, who’s this?"
"Excuse me, is this the property owner, Mr. Ye? My apologies for bothering you so late. I’m Chen Dong, a manager at the 96 City rental platform. You listed some properties for rent with us earlier."
"Yes, that’s right."
Ye Ling thought for a moment. The platform he’d used to list the properties was indeed called 96 City.
"Here’s the situation. Given the large number of properties you’ve listed—all of them luxury residences—the total value is quite significant. We’d like to send a specialist to sign the rental management contract with you in person. To do that, we’ll need to know your current location."
City was a top-tier platform in the country, and normally, rental management contracts were signed directly online.
But Ye Ling was a major client, listing thirty apartments for rent all at once!
And most importantly, they were luxury units in Tomson Riviera!
Special circumstances required special treatment.
This was the first time 96 City had ever sent a specialist to sign a contract in person.
"I’m at Tomson Riviera Building S in Modu. The top floor."
Ye Ling stated his location directly.
HISS...
A sharp intake of breath was clearly audible from the other end of the line.
’If I’m not mistaken,’ he thought, ’all thirty of those luxury units were in Tomson Riviera Building S... And if memory serves, Tomson Riviera Building S only has sixteen floors.’
’In other words, does this mean... Mr. Ye owns the entire Tomson Riviera Building S?’
"Please keep my information confidential."
Ye Ling added, having thought of something.
Upon hearing this, Chen Dong replied solemnly, "But of course. Our confidentiality services at 96 City are very robust. Please rest assured, Mr. Ye."
"Good. Then send someone over as soon as possible."
Ye Ling hung up.
City’s efficiency was impressive. Before long, there was a knock at the door.
Ye Ling opened the door to find a young woman in a professional skirt suit.
"Mr. Ye, good evening. I’m from 96 City, here to finalize the contract. My name is Xiaoying."
Xiaoying said.
"Come in."
Ye Ling nodded.
「In the living room.」
Xiaoying stood respectfully before Ye Ling, explaining the contract’s fine print.
"Based on current market rates, we recommend setting the monthly rent for each unit at one hundred thousand. During the search for tenants, we at 96 City will promote your listings. Once rented, we will collect a ten percent commission from the rent as our service fee. Is that acceptable to you?" Xiaoying asked.
’Ten percent?’
Ye Ling mused for a moment. To be honest, that was quite fair.
As far as he knew, other rental platforms took commissions of no less than thirty percent. For the 96 City platform to offer such a low rate was, to some degree, a gesture of goodwill toward him.
Besides, if he didn’t pay them anything, why would they bother helping him list and promote the properties?
Ye Ling nodded, indicating his acceptance.
"This contract is valid for one year. The thirty properties will be rented out on a monthly basis. The platform will adjust the rent appropriately each month based on market fluctuations, and the resulting income will be distributed according to the agreed-upon commission split. After one year, you will be free to either renew the contract or handle the rentals yourself."
"Sounds good. I’ll sign it."
Ye Ling signed his name without hesitation, a smile on his face.
