"Renya, where did you get this from?"

Uchiha Kagami stared at the pair of Sharingan inside the glass container and froze in place.

This guy Renya couldn’t have secretly killed a member of the Uchiha clan in revenge over Uchiha Tanaka’s matter, right?

Hadn’t some hawkish members already been eliminated back then?

No... those eyes...

Mangekyō Sharingan!

Uchiha Kagami’s eyes widened in shock as he asked excitedly,

"Tobirama-sensei helped cultivate a pair of Mangekyō Sharingan for me?!"

Some time ago, he had asked Senju Tobirama to help cultivate a pair of Mangekyō, hoping to obtain an Eternal Mangekyō like Renya.

He hadn’t expected results so quickly.

As expected of Tobirama-sensei!

"What are you thinking?" Renya said irritably. "Uncle doesn’t have time to help you right now. I got these while traveling..."

Senju Tobirama and Orochimaru had recently been busy researching Yakushi Kabuto’s original data.

If Uchiha Kagami wanted cultivated Mangekyō Sharingan, he would probably have to wait quite a while.

"Traveling?!" Uchiha Kagami looked confused.

He had no idea how traveling could possibly be related to Mangekyō Sharingan...

Could it be that while traveling, Renya encountered an Uchiha with Mangekyō Sharingan and casually killed him, thus obtaining these eyes?

Seeing his puzzled expression, Renya explained the matter of traveling across time and space with Danzō.

After all, it wasn’t exactly a secret to them...

He simply didn’t mention that the owner of these eyes was his future descendant.

"You two really know how to enjoy life!" Uchiha Kagami said with envy. Traveling across the ninja world wasn’t enough — they even traveled through other timelines.

Following Renya truly meant living comfortably for Danzō.

"Alright, take the eyes."

After learning the reason, Uchiha Kagami stopped asking questions and nodded as he accepted the glass container.

With these eyes, he could obtain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. At that point, he would be able to use its abilities without restraint.

Uchiha Tanaka was about to retire soon, and he would become the next Uchiha clan head.

Although he had little interest in power, becoming clan head would ease the relationship between the clan and the village.

He would no longer need to worry about clan members attempting a coup...

"That old man Tanaka still hasn’t stepped down?"

Renya recalled the Uchiha Tanaka he met during the Warring States period. At the time, the two had even shared their travel experiences across the ninja world.

From the way Tanaka looked back then, he seemed extremely eager to travel.

"Soon," Uchiha Kagami explained. "He went traveling some time ago and handed the clan’s affairs to me. When he comes back, he’ll probably retire."

At that time, Uchiha Tanaka suddenly came to him, saying he wanted to fulfill a dream from his youth, then left the village alone after giving a few instructions.

Renya: ...

Sure enough, his actions in the Warring States era really had affected this timeline.

No wonder he and Danzō were beaten up by Danzō after returning.

It seemed that future time travel couldn’t be as high-profile as last time.

Only by keeping a low profile could risks be minimized!

"Tell me when you become clan head."

If not for Renya’s intervention, Uchiha Kagami would most likely have died long ago during some mission.

And the conflict between the Uchiha clan and the village would have grown increasingly severe until reconciliation became impossible...

"No problem, Renya-kun!" Uchiha Kagami said with a smile. "I’ll definitely invite you all over for a meal then."

Once he became Uchiha clan head, he naturally had to invite his friends to share the celebration.

Renya nodded, then turned and left the Uchiha clan district.

If he hadn’t forgotten to deliver the eyes yesterday, he wouldn’t have come here today at all.

Just as he stepped outside, Renya saw a boy staring at him with a serious expression.

Behind him stood a familiar figure — a former classmate he hadn’t gotten along with at the academy.

Uchiha Retsufū, Uchiha Tanaka’s son.

For some unknown reason, he had not succeeded his father as Uchiha clan head. Perhaps Uchiha Kagami’s strength was simply too great, or perhaps, like Nara Motoha, he had no interest in the position.

However, Renya felt the former was more likely.

"Fugaku," Uchiha Retsufū called softly as he stepped forward and calmly looked at Renya. "Long time no see."

Retsufū no longer carried the oppressive aura of his youth. He appeared unexpectedly calm.

"Yeah, long time no see."

Renya held no attachment to the Uchiha clan. As long as no one provoked him, he wouldn’t bother causing trouble.

At the very least, he had never considered destroying the entire Uchiha clan.

"Would you like to come sit at my place?"

After hesitating for a moment, Uchiha Retsufū spoke softly.

Renya’s strength was obvious to everyone. Although they had unpleasant history, it had never reached an irreparable level.

And with the next Uchiha clan head belonging to the Hokage faction, there was no reason for him to continue provoking Renya. Maintaining a proper relationship was the better choice.

He didn’t expect Renya to return to the clan — it was enough as long as Renya didn’t kick the Uchiha while they were down.

Renya raised an eyebrow, unsure what Retsufū was planning, but he didn’t refuse.

"Sure."

Uchiha Retsufū was stunned. He had only asked casually, assuming Renya would find an excuse to decline. He hadn’t expected him to agree immediately.

...

Uchiha clan head residence.

"Please, have some tea."

Uchiha Retsufū poured a cup of hot tea for Renya.

"Have you been staying with the clan all these years?" Renya asked after taking a sip.

Aside from Uchiha Kagami and a few Uchiha whose names he couldn’t remember, he truly hadn’t seen Uchiha Retsufū for several years.

"Yeah. Staying home raising a child."

Uchiha Retsufū looked at Uchiha Fugaku practicing shuriken throwing in the courtyard, a faint smile appearing on his face.

Renya looked at Retsufū’s change with surprise.

He hadn’t expected marriage and fatherhood to transform a man so drastically — it was like becoming an entirely different person.

Seems like marriage really isn’t an option... otherwise you’d gain all sorts of strange attachments...

After sitting for a while, Renya stood up and left.

Uchiha Retsufū watched him depart from the doorway. Then he glanced at Fugaku practicing shuriken throwing in the courtyard before walking straight into the study and closing the door behind him.

"Uchiha Renya has left..."

As his voice fell, a black-and-white White Zetsu suddenly appeared inside the study.

It was the combined form of Tobi and Black Zetsu.

"Retsufū, don’t forget Madara-sama’s plan," Black Zetsu said hoarsely. "Even if you possess Mangekyō, you’re still not Renya’s opponent."

Uchiha Retsufū’s face lost its gentleness, returning to its former coldness. The three-tomoe Sharingan in his eyes spun rapidly, quickly forming a complex pattern.

"I know. You don’t need to teach me how to do things." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"As long as you know. Madara-sama’s plan cannot fail — otherwise, you’ll never be able to revive your dead wife and younger brother..."
