Starting Out As The God of Beasts
Chapter 16: New Cultivator
Alisa’s chest heaved as Roy’s words settled deep into her soul. The absolute conviction radiating from him crushed her remaining doubts.
She didn’t just see a savior anymore; she saw a direct conduit to an ancient, primordial entity who could grant her the vengeance her heart screamed for.
Slowly, she closed her eyes, blocking out the sight of the approaching iron gates of Tempest City.
She balled her tiny hands into fists, pressing them against her chest, and poured every ounce of her remaining willpower, her trauma, and her desperation into a silent, fervent prayer.
"Blessed hath thou O Great Eternal One."
"Thy name, Varanus, is the truth."
"You are the Great Primordial of the Feral Domain."
"You are the Principal of the Fractured Mind."
"You are the God of Beasts and Men, Who Shall Devour All," Alisa recited the divine honorifics in ancient Lydora.
’Lord Varanus... protector of the beastmen... if you can truly hear me... grant me the power to destroy those who put my people in chains. I offer you my loyalty. I offer you my life.’
[Ding!]

’10 FP?’ Roy’s lips curled into a cold, triumphant grin as the translucent blue panels flashed before his eyes. ’Is it because she made a covenant to me?’ Roy lingered.
’Let’s give her that potion.’ He didn’t waste a single second.
With a fluid, unnoticeable motion of his hand, he withdrew the Phantasmal Void-Stalking Draught from his system inventory.
"The God of Beasts has heard your plea, Alisa," Roy’s hypnotic voice cut through her prayer. "Open your mouth and receive his divine grace."
Alisa parted her lips in a daze, and Roy tilted the crystal vial, pouring the sluggish, stardust-infused midnight liquid down her throat.
The moment the elixir touched her tongue, Alisa’s entire body went rigid.
It didn’t burn.
Instead, it felt like liquid ice was violently racing through her veins, freezing her from the inside out before exploding into a cascading shockwave of raw, cosmic energy.
Her crimson, doe-like eyes snapped open, but the irises were no longer just red—they began to spin, fracturing into concentric, glowing silver rings that mirrored the structure of spatial rifts.
"Ah...!" A choked, breathless gasp escaped her lips, but the sound was strangely muffled, as if the space directly around her mouth was warping.
Her long, fluffy white rabbit ears began to rapidly change, the snowy fur at the tips darkening into a rich, light-absorbing midnight black that seemed to swallow the ambient desert sun.
Faint, ethereal silver runes began to trace themselves along her collarbones and wrists, glowing brightly beneath her skin before embedding themselves permanently into her DNA.
To Alisa, the entire world transformed. The heavy, suffocating air of the canyon gates suddenly felt incredibly distant.
She could actively feel the fabric of reality around her.
The air wasn’t just empty space anymore; it was a grid of invisible lines, shadows, and pockets that she could step into if she simply willed it.
[Ding!]
[The ’Phantasmal Void-Stalking Draught’ has successfully rewritten the follower’s genetic sequence!]
[The Rabbit-kin ’Alisa’ has successfully undergone a localized racial evolution]

[Cultivator Status: Martial Warrior]
[Follower has unlocked the Core Skill: ’Spatial Slip’ and the Passive Skill: ’Absolute Sensory Concealment’.]
’Why didn’t that option pop up?’ Roy’s eyes narrowed. ’But I’m satisfied by the fact that she’s also an evolved cultivator’ he heaved a sigh of relief.
As the swirling cosmic energy finally settled into her core, Alisa’s breathing slowed.
The trembling in her arms was completely gone, replaced by a terrifying, absolute stillness.
The raw fear that had plagued her mind since her capture had been entirely burned away, replaced by the chilling, calm instincts of an apex cosmic predator.
She looked down at her hands, watching the faint silver residue fade into her skin, then looked up at Roy.
She no longer saw just Jarden Rome, the traveler.
Through her newly awakened spatial vision, she could see the faint, world-ending silhouette of a multi-layered divine aura wrapping around his disguised form.
Without a word, Alisa shifted within his grip, dropping her knees onto the thick emerald scales of the drake.
She bowed her head deeply against his chest, her midnight-tipped ears dropping in absolute, fanatical submission.
"Thank you, Lord Varanus... thank you, My Lord’s Envoy," Alisa whispered, her voice carrying a haunting, layered resonance that vibrated through the surrounding air. "Your shadow is ready to hunt."
Roy looked down at his newly forged weapon, his golden-crimson eyes reflecting absolute satisfaction.
He glanced back toward the iron gates of Tempest City, where the Orc and Troll guards were completely oblivious to the monster that had just been born on the back of his drake.
"Rise, Alisa," Roy commanded smoothly, guiding the drake forward into the city gates. "The stage is set. Let’s go show them what happens when the prey stops running."
She rested her head on his arms, with her eyes closed. She had a satisfactory smile written on her, unbothered by anything else.
All she cared about was digesting the grace of Lord Varanus. Tempest City was a vast city that covered over 5,000 square kilometers.
Roughly 1,933 square miles. Having thousands of buildings made fresh woods scattered across the city’s landscape.
The inhabitants consisted of numerous races. Ogres, Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, but mainly beastmen.
With the Tiger-men regulating the lands, they had guards on every corner of the city, armed and ready to kill.
But the roles of sentries weren’t limited to Tiger-men; Orcs, Ogres, and even Trolls, loyal beastmen from other races like Fox-men and Hyena-kin were included.
All loyalists of the Tiger Lord.
"There really are no weaknesses I can grasp onto," Roy sighed. While the emerald Drake moved, he observed the city.
Since he’s going to lay waste to this land, he needed to understand everything about it so he would devise a plan.
He stared at Alisa who slept on his arms for a moment, he breathed deeply, "Firstly, I need to rent an apartment."
"If we’re going to spend a few days in this city, we’ll need a roof over our heads," he stated. "And besides, I also need time..."
"Since I’m the God of Beasts, I’d lay waste to all that isn’t a beastman, but if a beastman dares stand in my way..."
His eyes shimmered, "They’ll die as well!"
