Special Base

When the wolves got closer toward him, he didn’t move from the spot. He was using his full concentration to locate the beast. He was using his senses and eye power.

Swoosh!

The three Wind Wolves disappeared from their spot. They charged at him. They covered half the distance within a second.

The wind force already touched Jeremy Night’s face.

Finally, he got a good aim. He raised his hand and pulled the trigger one time after another.

Boom!

He shot at the wind wolves. White streaks of light went in a straight line. Thanks to his eyes and senses, he was able to discern their moves.

Puchak!

The starlight bullets penetrated their heads one by one. Their skulls were broken instantly. The brain inside the skull was punctured.

The beasts lost their lives and dropped dead on the ground. After doing that, Jeremy Night put his handgun back in its case.

He then left the place to find other beasts.

The seniors were dumbfounded. For a second, they were unable to fathom it.

"It must be some S-Grade Talent."

"Only S-Grade gives the power to fight across Tiers."

"The young man not only used a blade but used a firearm as well."

"It’s not the power of the firearm, but the power of the element in it."

The seniors here discussed. Then they resumed the battle. They didn’t have time to be leisurely. They had to eliminate the remaining beasts.

Time passed.

Head Harold eventually noticed Jeremy Night at the frontline.

He was shocked. He didn’t expect the kid to be daring enough to enter a middle-level and above battlefield, where the lowest beasts were Tier-5 Corrupted beasts.

It didn’t take long for the support to come. It was the team which had gone away for the mission earlier. Their return added strength to the human side.

Especially the elders, who immediately handled the Tier-7 and Tier-8 beasts quickly. They were quickly slaughtered.

The rest of them dealt with the Tier-5 and Tier-6 beasts.

The next morning,

The battle came to an end. The injured were taken to the good buildings which were not destroyed.

The beast tamers with healing talent were helping them. The Tier-7 and Tier-8 Beast Tamers were surveying the battlefield.

They eventually came across the passengers, the Head Harold and a few other passengers. Knowing that they were passengers from the special flight, the higher-ups showed gratitude.

The special base was something under the direct control of the human alliance.

There was another name for the special base: it was a training camp to train the genius beast tamers recruited by the human alliance.

All the elders and teachers with high combat power were selected to train them. But the special base was located at a treacherous place.

They were exposed to corrupted beasts. The barren land stretched for miles. Anyone could easily spot the base from hundreds of meters away.

It was not a city, so the battles here were more frequent compared to the city. Therefore, the death rates were higher as well.

But only by doing training in such a harsh and dangerous environment could the genius beast tamers truly become powerful beast tamers. Each could single-handedly save human zones.

Jeremy Night was sitting under a tree. He was constantly using the inner healing method to cure his injuries. The reason he was alive was because of the unknown beast egg.

Now that the protective layer was gone, he thought the Lifeline beast egg must have spent considerable power. He decided to bring out the resources for the lifeline beast later.

He had contributed to this battlefield. He hoped that the higher-ups would give him rewards.

He then thought of the special flight. When the battle ended, he immediately went to the runway to check.

He only saw the mutilated bodies of the Beast Tamers and the dead body of the Corrupted bird beast. It appeared someone had slayed it last night.

It was a pity that they were dead. If everyone had exited the flight, a few more lives would have been saved.

Meanwhile,

A Tier-8 Beast Tamer standing on the back of a Golden Hawk returned to the base. He looked bloodied and injured as well.

The Golden Hawk was not flying smoothly. It had suffered injuries as well. He was John, one of the elders of the base.

He was not the only one returning; he was returning with other elders. This small group of elders had gone to deal with the Tier-9 beast which was responsible for the sudden attack last night.

It was the worm king, a Tier-9 beast. The worm king was severely dealt with, but it had strong vitality and an earth ability.

The beast hid deeper underground in the barren land. Because of its deep injuries, it won’t appear above the surface for the next few years.

Screech!

The Golden Hawk scanned the battlefield. Its eyes saw a young man sitting under a tree.

Its golden eyes flickered.

The emotion was felt by Elder John. He asked his lifeline beast. He then understood that a passenger from the special flight was seen down below.

John followed the hawk’s gaze. Since they were closer to the base, he could see the situation down below and saw a Tier-3 Beast Tamer sitting under the tree. He was covered in blood.

"What?" He almost cursed out.

He felt absurd. How could a Tier-3 Beast Tamer have survived the battle? The Golden Hawk could see that the Tier-3 Beast Tamer was injured.

But the blood on his clothes belonged to the wind wolves. The golden hawk communicated with him.

Elder John was shocked. He didn’t land inside the special base. Instead, he ordered the golden hawk to land in front of the kid.

Screech!

The Golden Hawk made a sound. It turned around in the sky and moved toward the giant shade tree.

In a flash, the bird landed in front of the shade tree.

Jeremy Night was stunned. He stood up and saw the golden hawk. With his eye power, he could tell that it was the same hawk which he had seen a few days ago.

He then turned toward the man in the black and golden uniform. He recognized him as well.

"Elder John," Jeremy Night uttered.

He didn’t expect him to appear here.
