Chapter 833: The Concept of Human Greed

The superhuman population in America was handled very differently from how they were handled in the rest of the world. Most major countries treated their superhumans as soldiers, and there were some that separated their superhumans from regular humans. But the one thing that the other countries had in common was that the president took care of both the humans and the superhumans. In America, Ronald left the running of the superhuman world to the head of the SMD and the Chief Commander of the Enforcers, so Jason knew he wouldn’t even need to talk to Ronald at all to make things work in America.

If Ronald wanted to have his moment in the spotlight, Jason would allow him to have it, but Jason wouldn’t allow him to think that he had special privileges just because he was the president of Jason’s country.

"The warnings I’ve given out apply just as much to you as they do to everyone else, Ronald. My only obligation is to work with the President of America, so if you turn out to be problematic, then I’ll gladly work with whoever next occupies that position."

"!"

Ronald felt a shiver go down his spine when he heard the absolute indifference in Jason’s voice! Jason had just spoken about killing him, but Jason sounded like he was talking about the fucking weather! As if the idea of Ronald’s death wasn’t even worth giving any thought!

Of course, Jason hadn’t actually threatened to kill Ronald. Jason would have simply made Ronald resign if Ronald proved to be problematic. Ronald didn’t have much say in the superhuman world, so his actions didn’t hold that much weight! But to a regular human like Ronald, any threat from Jason would seem like a promise of death, and Ronald swallowed as he slowly took his seat before nodding in agreement.

"Alright then, fine. Let’s assume we accept this offer of yours and we agree to work together for strength. What exactly did you have in mind? How do you plan to make us into one of the strongest worlds in this Domain?"

Agnes, the President of Germany, suddenly spoke up with her signature frown in place, and Jason let out a calm sigh as he nodded. Stella reached down for the briefcase that Jason had brought with him, and she opened it to reveal the beautiful translucent blue stone, Aqualith.

Jason spoke up in a calm voice.

"My plan is split into two. The first thing we need to do is to work hard to raise the power level of our world so we can stand amongst the other Rank III worlds in this Domain. To do that, we will have to move past the concept of guilds and join forces to grow the strength of our superhumans. And the second thing we need to do is to make enough money to become a financial and economic powerhouse in this Domain. And that can be solved by this precious stone right here."

"What is that stone?"

The Russian president leaned forward while looking curiously at the blue rock, and Jason answered calmly.

"This is Aqualith. A precious water-based mana stone that is useful for magic research and development. A long time ago, it could only be found on one world within the vast Primordial Expanse. But as of this moment, the race that once lived on that world no longer exists, and without going into too many details, I happened to stumble upon a lost deposit, and now I have a monopoly on every last piece of Aqualith remaining within the Primordial Expanse."

All the leaders in the hall turned to look at the stone in the briefcase with intense looks in their eyes, but there was still a feeling of doubt in the minds of many of them. The leaders had never heard about this Aqualith before, and many of them didn’t think that the stone was that precious since they had been carrying out magic research and development using regular mana stones all this time! But the president of Germany, Agnes, suddenly spoke up in a low voice and asked the question that was on all their minds.

"And exactly how much money can be made from this... stone?"

Agnes gestured towards the stone like she was talking about something unimportant, but Jason just smiled. Jason knew that this was the only thing that the leaders were interested in, and Jason had already done all the necessary calculations before he came here. According to the information Jason had gotten, a single handful of Aqualith costs anywhere from three to five million gold coins, depending on how well it is mined and processed. The raw Aqualith that Jason had would sell for only about two million gold coins. And when you equate that to the dollar, you would get a single handful of raw, unprocessed Aqualith costing around two billion dollars, and a handful of the highest grade of processed Aqualith would cost about five billion dollars! Jason had actually done a double-take when he first got that number, and Jason knew that he had gotten his hands on something unbelievable! If the number was enough to shock someone like Jason, then Jason knew that the leaders would lose their minds over it!

Jason gestured to the Aqualith in the briefcase, and he spoke calmly.

"This is two hundred grams of raw, unprocessed Aqualith, just enough to fit into one hand as it is now. This Aqualith would sell on the market for two million gold coins, and once processed, it would sell anywhere from three to five million gold coins. That would mean that in Earth’s currency, this stone would cost about two to five billion dollars."

Jason looked around at all the leaders who had been stunned into silence, and Jason wasn’t surprised when he saw a new emotion appearing in their eyes! Greed! Jason actually felt his lips curl up in amusement when he saw the absolute, predatory greed that suddenly appeared in the eyes of every single person there! Even the people who weren’t presidents, like Cerci, the leader of Gaia, and Victoria, who led the Black Market Guild, couldn’t conceal their obvious greed once they heard just how much money they could be making from these stones! Everyone had dismissed Aqualith as just another mana stone when they saw it because they were all used to handling large amounts of mana stones from the Gates that their guilds dealt with, but right now, the leaders all realised that Aqualith was a completely different beast compared to those mana stones! Jason hadn’t been joking when he said that this could raise their world to new financial levels!

Cerci spoke up.

"Jason, just how much of this stone do you have? I assume it must be significant if you wish to use it as a major means of trade for Earth."

Jason hummed as he leaned back, and Stella closed the briefcase before Jason spoke up again.

"I have enough to go around, and I plan to put all your countries to work by passing large batches of these stones to you for processing. Listen here, I have the avenue to process these stones myself, and as you can quite clearly see, I am not lacking in any manpower for me to handle all of this on my own and pocket all the profit. So by giving you the chance to work with me right now, I am doing you a favour. I am taking away money from my own pocket to ensure you are not left with nothing. But this business will be done on my terms. I will be expanding my guild, Monarch, to all your countries. Major headquarters will exist in your capitals, and I’ll use these headquarters as meeting and exchange points between Earth and travellers from other worlds."
