Chapter 847: I Can’t Believe You’re Nervous

"Oooooouuu~!"

The girls all made teasing noises at Gina, and Gina’s blush grew larger as she quickly moved to help someone else with organising the rest of the picnic! Jason just chuckled at Gina’s shyness, and the older men around laughed at the interaction! This was the first time in a while that Jason would be able to say he felt like just any regular human, and even though Jason had already gotten used to the superhuman lifestyle, he couldn’t deny that he missed the feeling of just doing regular things with the family. The laughter of the children running around, the music playing in the yard, and the smell of grilled meat and good food spreading across the air made this moment absolutely perfect!

"BIG BROTHER!!!"

A loud voice echoed through the yard as Maya arrived from the shadows along with one of Jason’s subordinates, and Maya immediately blurred into motion and raced towards Jason! Jason turned around and caught Maya before she could slam into the grill!

"Hey there, Tiger! You’re as lively as ever!"

Jason laughed as Maya hugged him around the neck tightly and began to ramble.

"I missed you so much, big brother! The school wouldn’t let me leave until I got some permits, and that’s why I couldn’t welcome you back last month! Those teachers are going to get pranked into the new year for what they did! Can you believe Mom wouldn’t tell me what happened to you!? She talked about it with Aunty Riyala, but she wouldn’t let me hear anything! I missed you so much! Did you miss me!?"

"Whoa, whoa, slow down a little, Tiger. Haha. Of course, I missed you. I worked twice as hard just to come see you as quickly as possible."

Maya’s smile widened as she felt an intense happiness surging through her heart, and Maya immediately spoke with absolute seriousness!

"Big brother! Let’s run away together and get married! Forget about that big-breasted -!"

"Alright, that’s enough out of you."

Gina suddenly appeared from behind and picked Maya up like a stray cat, and Maya hissed angrily when she saw the big-breasted bimbo!

"Put me down, you homewrecker!"

Gina just chuckled at Maya’s futile struggling. Mira had asked Gina to help her bring Maya inside the house once she arrived because Mira was certain Maya would cause a scene at the picnic, and Mira didn’t want Maya to ruin the celebrations.

"Go easy on her, alright. And give this to her when she settles down."

Jason said this while handing over a plate of grilled meat, and Gina hummed as she leaned over and gave Jason a kiss before she started taking Maya inside.

"Hey, put me down! I said put me down, you homewrecker! Big brother! Don’t let her take me away!"

Jason just laughed, and he made a mental promise to make it up to Maya later.

The picnic continued on for the next few hours without issues. After putting Maya inside with Mira, Gina joined the preparations and used her powers to set up many of the mats and chairs that they would be using outside. The older men finished off nearly a dozen packs of beer while talking with Jason. Most of the men already had small blushes on their faces from drinking so much, but Jason didn’t even feel tipsy from the beer. Mira and the other older women brought the food out after they were finished with it, and Jason laughed as his mother came over and kissed his cheek while saying he looked great in the apron!

The teenagers were finally asked to come out of the house since the food and meat were both ready, and Jason saw a line of people waiting for him to serve them meat! Jason served the boys their meat normally, but whenever Jason served a girl, she would lean up and give him a kiss on the cheek with a smile. Jason just scoffed and accepted the kisses, and it wasn’t long before everyone was fed and Jason was finally allowed to leave his grill duty! Jason put the apron to the side, and he grabbed two bottles of beer as he walked over to where Gina was sitting with Fio and some other cousins. The girls all quieted down once they saw Jason, and Jason spoke with a smile.

"Hey, ladies. Do you mind if I borrow her for a second?"

Most of the girls blushed when they saw Jason, and Gina felt a stupid smile spreading on her face! One of the girls who had the largest blush suddenly spoke up loudly!

"N-Not at all! She’s all yours! Take her for as long as you need!"

Jason chuckled calmly when he heard this, and he put his empty hand out to Gina and asked her to come with him. Gina nodded as she took his hand, and she allowed Jason to pull her up and away from the table. The girls all sighed as they watched Gina walk away with Jason.

"Those two look perfect together. It’s almost unfair."

"Did you see his forearms when he was grilling. There were some hot tattoos all over it. Gina said they were powerful runes."

"My stomach feels funny just from looking at him. If he wrapped those arms around me, I’d melt."

"What do you think the sex is like? You think Jason folds her in half like they do in those smutty books?"

"With how strong I’ve heard he is, it’s definitely possible."

"Those arms can fold me in half anytime."

"Hey, shut up, you horny animals! What do you think you’re talking about when there’s kids around!?"

"Sigh~ I wish I had someone like that."

"Keep dreaming. Gina’s perfect, so it’s only natural that she has the perfect man as well! Hehehe!"

The last person who spoke was Fio, and Fio folded her hands pompously and nodded like she had just unveiled one of the secrets of the universe! The other girls just rolled their eyes! All the girls already knew how much Fio admired Gina, so they ignored Fio’s regular hero-worship as they went back to admiring Jason!

Jason and Gina moved towards one of the tables close to the house that was overlooking the yard, and Gina smiled as Jason handed her a beer and asked her if she was ready.

"I’m a little nervous."

Gina had a nervous smile on her face as she said that, and Jason just chuckled as he leaned forward and kissed her forehead softly. Jason knew that Gina wasn’t the sort of person to feel nervous easily, but Jason could understand Gina’s feelings since she was in front of her whole family.

Jason spoke up with a teasing smile.

"The Queen of Tempest actually feels nervous? Where was this nervousness when you were jumping in front of the Beast of the Apocalypse to save me?"

A blush dusted Gina’s cheek when she heard this, and Gina couldn’t help the amused laugh that escaped her! Jason watched Gina laugh, and he felt his heart softening as a feeling of love surged through him. No matter how many beautiful women Jason sees in the Primordial Expanse, Jason couldn’t help but think that Gina was the most beautiful woman he would ever meet. Jason caressed Gina’s cheek softly, and he tucked some of her hair behind her ear. Gina looked up at Jason with a loving gaze, and Jason spoke kindly.

"Just hold onto me. Everything’ll be alright."

Those words managed to completely eradicate all of Gina’s fears, and Gina nodded in absolute confidence. Jason took Gina’s hand, and the couple finally turned around to face the family! But Jason was shocked when he saw that everyone was already watching them! The entire family was looking at the couple with happiness written all over their faces! The conversation that Jason and Gina just had was too low for anyone to hear, but the family couldn’t help but admire how good the couple looked together!
