Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1675: Reward
After fighting for close to a day, they finally did it. They killed all the aliens in the area.
"Ha... Ha..." Nathan panted heavily. His eyes felt as though they were going to fall out at any moment.
This fight was much more tiring, both mentally and physically. His energy was almost empty, and killing millions of aliens, not to mention the high-level aliens, was simply too much even for Nathan.
Some girls had already collapsed on the spot, unable to continue fighting. Some managed to hold on, but their conditions weren’t any better than his.
Even Luna and Evelyn were completely tired.
"To think that we would be able to win..." The Pope sighed in relief. He was tired as well, but he didn’t show it on his face.
"This fight might have taken 5 years off my life." Leyfon chuckled before walking back, his legs were shaking.
Vista simply couldn’t believe it. This kind of battle would have wiped out a kingdom or two. Yet, not only was this group able to stop them, but they did it without any casualties.
It showed how massive the achievements were.
No one would probably believe that this kind of army was at their gate.
Still, the one playing the most crucial role in this battle was none other than Elysion Aquamoon. Despite being exiled and hated by the four kingdoms, he was actually the one stopping this alien army from reaching the population.
Thanks to the unlimited army of undead, he was able to block the alien army for so long, despite not fighting at the front personally.
He didn’t understand why Elysion didn’t fight personally, but he was sure Nathan knew and they might have talked about it.
Nevertheless, Elysion was on their side. He knew that Elysion was exiled simply because he was too strong and could be a threat. At the same time, he wondered if that was the right treatment for their savior.
Unfortunately, Vista had officially died, so he should carry this thought to his grave.
The only ones who could make a difference would be Nathan and the others.
Even though he was tired, Nathan dragged his body to the Pope and the others.
He politely lowered his head. "Thank you for helping us overcome this battle. We would have been in big trouble if you hadn’t helped us."
"Not at all." The Pope smiled. "We should be the ones extending our gratitude. If not for you and your team, our land would have become chaotic. Kingdoms would fall, and humanity would perish. On behalf of all humans living on this continent, I’d like to express my gratitude."
Nathan wanted to speak, but he really didn’t have any energy left to handle all this mess.
He took a deep breath before saying, "We’ll make sure to repay you. We have to get the cores first."
"You don’t have to worry about that." The Pope waved his hand. "It’s true that the cores are tempting, but we are already this old. I believe all of you should monopolize the cores this time.
"I think everyone will agree with me." The Pope looked around, seeing one nod after another.
Leyfon added, "You kids are planning to leave this world to fight the aliens, right? In that case, you should take all the cores. There’s no use for us oldies taking these cores. It’s not like we can improve to the point of extending our lives."
"This..." Nathan felt a bit overwhelmed. There were simply too many cores.
Including the cores from Erendtall, they got 4 alpha class cores, 750 elite class cores, and millions of lower-level cores.
Even if they split it into eleven, each of them would still get at least a hundred thousand ena each.
Of course, if they further divided it to their familiars, the number would be smaller.
But considering the scale of their group, it was still a big amount.
Still, this might indeed be necessary if they wanted to fight the black cell.
They needed everyone to reach the true god level to gain a qualification to challenge the black cell.
So, Nathan couldn’t exactly reject this proposal.
Duke Coline added, removing the last bit of hesitation in Nathan’s heart. "Just take it, kid. Look at what you’ve done for the world. You’ve stopped this alien army. Even if you ignore this achievement, your magic guns, cloud-repelling devices, and other things you’ve given to the people on this continent... You deserve to get all this.
"If there are any people who want to claim ownership of these cores, they should just kill themselves so as to not embarrass themselves further."
The others agreed.
"..." Nathan thought for a moment before politely bowing. "Thank you."
"Again, we should be the ones to thank you." The Pope smiled.
"In that case, we should get back. My old bones feel like they’re going to break after fighting this hard." Leyfon yawned while stretching his body. He was staggering, showing that he really wanted to just go back home and get a good sleep.
"Since you’re done, it’s all right for me to finally be here." Elysion’s voice suddenly echoed from the inside. His body appeared right after.
People were slightly startled, but they didn’t show as much hostility, considering Elysion was the one warning them about this army and the fact that Nathan needed their help.
If not for Elysion, they couldn’t imagine what would happen.
"Elysion..." Nathan gasped.
"You should take the cores. These people are already so old that their only use is to guard this world while you wreak havoc in the enemy’s world. Well, I can order my undead army to deal with that.
"How about you go back now and I’ll deal with the cleanup? I’ll send you the haul once I’m done."
"That’s..." Nathan was surprised that Elysion planned to do all that.
Elysion, on the other hand, thought it was hard work to get all these cores out of the corpses. His undead army could easily do it, so rather than letting Nathan waste his time doing this menial job, it would be better if he took over.
This was a small support he could give to Nathan.
Still, the question would be whether Nathan could trust Elysion to handle the job for him. There was a chance Elysion would just get the cores for himself.
