Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts
Chapter 261 - 206: Is Today Bickering Day?
Zhang Sen looked at Lu Ming in disbelief, a flicker of gratitude in his eyes. He quickly composed himself, took a deep breath, and fixed Lin Chu with a burning gaze.
"President Lin, I joined the club ten years ago. Before that, I ran my own startup—an e-commerce business for sporting goods. When I came here, I started in sales. After two years of average performance, I was transferred to the membership department because of a great relationship I developed with a client. I continued to support sales in that role, averaging over three deals a month."
"Three years after that, President Zhou felt I was capable enough and transferred me to the General Office to be the manager, a position I’ve held to this day."
"This project is both a challenge and an opportunity for our club. We do lack experience right now, but I’m willing to learn. If the leadership considers giving this opportunity to me, I’m up for it. I’m ready to stake my job on it. If any problems arise, I’ll take full responsibility!"
With someone giving him a nudge and an opportunity like this right in front of him, Zhang Sen certainly wasn’t going to let it pass. He quickly made his case.
’Go for it!’
’Today’s a good day!’
Lin Chu glanced at him, then at Lu Ming.
Lu Ming smiled and said, "President Lin, I have no special connection to him. I just think he’s a good fit. Zhang is a real talent, meticulous with every last detail."
Lin Chu gave a slight smile.
Although it was unexpected, Lin Chu certainly had no reason to distrust him.
Li Ziming glanced at Lin Chu’s expression, thought for a moment, and added, "Manager Zhang is indeed very capable. He’s both principled and flexible in his work, and pretty much everyone at the club, from top to bottom, is familiar with him."
The manager of the General Office was supposed to be the person closest to the boss.
But President Lin had just taken over and brought in a young, beautiful female secretary, which had effectively "sidelined" Zhang Sen.
This was understandable, though; after all, he was one of the old guard from President Zhou’s tenure.
Over the past while, Zhang Sen had continued to handle all his duties in a perfectly orderly fashion.
"Alright, you’re it."
"You and President Xin."
"President Xin will manage the financial expenditures, and you’ll manage the concrete details."
"Let’s go! Time to get back to wrangling with them."
Lin Chu announced his decision, then turned and walked out of the conference room.
’Corporate management really is a deep field. To be honest, there are areas where I’m still falling short.’
’For one, I’ve only been in charge for a short time.’
’For another, I have no real experience as a boss. I’m just feeling my way forward through everything.’
’I hope that by the time I finish this MBA program, I’ll have undergone a complete transformation.’
...
The meeting continued.
They were still haggling over every specific item.
But Lin Chu wasn’t paying much attention anymore. He just sat there like a Cold-faced Bodhisattva, contemplating his personnel.
’Li Ziming’s hands aren’t clean. He has a record. A project this big has too many opportunities to skim money. I’ll exclude him from this one for now; just having him manage the club’s daily operations is enough.’
’Ma Lin is in charge of the luxury goods sales department and can’t be distracted.’
’Xin Fu is a good fit in every respect, perfect for managing the finances.’
’I’ll leave the coordination of all the details to Zhang Sen.’
’Cash and accounting, of course, have to be managed separately.’
’The company’s current CFO was someone Zhang Peng found for me. She used to be at LC Media, a forty-one-year-old woman named Zhai Xue. She’s very professional and meticulous. She came from a foreign-invested enterprise. No standout qualities, but you can’t find any faults either. Solid and by-the-book. Using her for now is definitely not a problem.’
’The cashier is Shen Huanxi. I specifically asked for her, and Zhang Peng understood immediately, conveniently slotting her into this position.’
’She’s in the conference room right now too, but we have almost no contact in private.’
’Procurement is also handled by someone from LC Media, Liang Mo. He’s an old acquaintance of sorts, and he’s quite steady and reliable.’
’Zhou Luan... I’ll worry about her later. Just a junior assistant, an errand runner.’
After running through the list in his mind, Lin Chu waited for the current topic of discussion to conclude before finally speaking up. "Let me say a few words."
The moment Lin Chu began to speak, the entire conference room fell silent.
All eyes turned to him, burning with anticipation.
"Mission Hills really is impressive when it comes to executing details. So, here’s my proposal: let’s create a detailed division of labor. We’ll form a project coordination team to be responsible for the specific execution of each task. President Zhu, you and I can just set the overall direction and leave the rest to them."
"On your side, I propose we have Zhu Yixian take the lead. On my side, I’ll hand it over to Vice President Xin. The overall direction will remain the same; you all can work out the finer details. Just send a daily report to the group chat."
"There will surely be some bumps along the road, but there are no irreconcilable conflicts here."
Lin Chu said this to Zhu Yizhen, his tone light and casual.
Zhu Yizhen was taken aback for a moment, his mind instantly racing.
The proposal wasn’t unacceptable, but he hadn’t expected Lin Chu to be so assertive as to name the lead for the Mission Hills side himself.
He had actually wanted to run the project personally.
But that was clearly unrealistic.
If he got directly involved, Lin Chu would definitely do the same.
Whoever put in more money was the senior partner. When it was king against king, he knew he couldn’t overpower Lin Chu.
Yixian, on the other hand, was the most suitable choice.
After all, he and Lin Chu had a personal friendship, which meant they could always talk things over.
As a member of the Zhu Family and a man of Mission Hills, Zhu Yizhen didn’t believe his younger brother would sell out the club’s interests for the sake of a personal friendship. Besides, he would still be overseeing everything—he just wouldn’t be meddling in the minor details.
"Alright, I have no objections."
"Then it’s settled."
"Well... in that case, you all carry on with the discussion. President Lin, shall we step out for a smoke?"
After weighing the pros and cons, Zhu Yizhen cheerfully agreed.
The two biggest players in the room made their exit together.
Leaving the group of worker bees to continue their wrangling.
...
"You’re really looking out for my little brother, giving him an opportunity this big."
