Just then, the woman turned around. If she were wearing the same clothes as Su Qingxue, Ye Fan would have certainly thought she was Su Qingxue, and that Su Qingxue was her. It was the most miraculous thing he had ever seen—a woman from a thousand years ago and a woman of the present day. Few would ever connect them.

Just then, the woman spoke, "You’re awake?"

Ye Fan did not answer, instead asking, "Who are you?"

"The Flame Witch," the woman replied.

Ye Fan said, "You’re a murderous demoness who kills without blinking. Why did you save me?"

"I told you, I crave your blood! You cannot die, at least not before I have fully transformed!" the Flame Witch said to him.

Ye Fan was incredibly frustrated. It feels as if she’s raising me like livestock. He was not used to being treated this way.

"You carry her scent. Tell me, where is she?" the Flame Witch questioned him.

Ye Fan asked, "What do you mean? Who is ’she’?"

"My other half. Before I fell into a deep slumber, my persona split in two. One half vanished into the mortal realm, which is what caused me to sleep for a millennium!" she explained. "So, I must find her! I am her, and she is me! We are an inseparable whole. Only by completely merging with her can I return to my peak!"

Perhaps this was the most important reason she hadn’t killed Ye Fan.

Ye Fan said, "I don’t know who you’re talking about!"

"You’re lying!"

She suddenly strode up to Ye Fan and seized him by the collar. Unprepared, Ye Fan was lifted with ease.

"You carry her scent," she said. "No one in this world understands it better than I do. Take me to her!"

"She will never merge with you. Give up on that idea!" Ye Fan retorted.

If Su Qingxue were to merge with this demoness, it would mean Su Qingxue would disappear forever. Therefore, Ye Fan would never allow them to merge.

But the Flame Witch said, "I have reawakened. If she doesn’t merge with me, she will immediately dissipate into nothing. You have no choice!"

When she spoke these words, Ye Fan was stunned. Everything this demoness had said was true. Can it be? Is Su Qingxue’s fate already sealed?

Ye Fan was incredibly unwilling to accept this. He couldn’t bear the thought of Su Qingxue disappearing just like that, so he declared, "I will definitely find a way to save her!"

"Is that so?"

She forced a red pill into Ye Fan’s mouth.

Ye Fan exclaimed in shock, "What is this?"

"A Five Poison Pill! It won’t act up immediately, but if you don’t get the antidote in a month, your cultivation level won’t matter. Your bowels will rupture, and you will die!" the Flame Witch threatened.

"Could you be any more despicable!"

Ye Fan was speechless. To think she’d use such a vicious trick... What else can I say? A witch is a witch, after all. Not a trace of sympathy to be found.

Just then, the Witch said, "We leave tomorrow! You have no choice! Unless you want to watch both her and yourself die!"

Ye Fan was completely trapped.

「The next day.」

The Flame Witch said, "It’s about time. We should go."

Ye Fan reluctantly led the way. As a man, having his life held in the hands of a woman was a pitiful state to be in.

At that moment, Gongsun Chou respectfully approached the Flame Witch. "Witch, would you like me to accompany and protect you?"

He then walked over to Ye Fan’s side and warned, "Kid, if you dare to do anything disrespectful to the Witch, I will never forgive you!"

Ye Fan was speechless. Are you blind? I’m the victim here! I’m more worried your Witch will defile me!

But outwardly, he said, "We’ll see about that. It all depends on my mood!"

"You still dare to talk tough!" Gongsun Chou rebuked. He then turned to the Flame Witch. "Witch, this kid is defiant. Should I cripple his martial arts?"

Then, Ye Fan and the Flame Witch left Flame Valley. Ye Fan had originally wanted to visit the old farmer, but with the situation as it was, he decided not to disturb him.

Stepping outside the small world, the Flame Witch was captivated by her surroundings. To her, this was a completely alien world, full of curiosities. But Ye Fan was miserable. The Flame Witch turned too many heads. Dressed in her perfect ancient attire, she looked exactly like a fairy who had descended to the mortal realm.

Just then, three red-haired thugs approached and surrounded them. They had the look of common street hooligans.

"Hey, kid, let your woman have some fun with us. Otherwise, we’ll bleed you dry today!" one of them sneered. The three of them brandished daggers, threatening Ye Fan.

Ye Fan replied, "I’m afraid you couldn’t handle the pleasure."

"Oho! Still got a sharp tongue! Around here, we’re the law. If you don’t know what’s good for you, we’ll teach you a lesson!"

The three charged at Ye Fan, daggers thrusting toward his body. In this small city, they rampaged without consequence, as no one dared to stop them.

At that moment, the Flame Witch made her move. With a mere sweep of her sleeve, she sent the three thugs flying through the air. Before they even knew what had happened, they slammed onto the ground, howling in agony.

But the Flame Witch had no intention of letting them go. She flicked her wrist, sending their own daggers flying back toward their hearts.

Ye Fan acted in a flash, swatting the three daggers out of the air.

The three thugs immediately fainted from fright as the daggers clattered to the ground right in front of them. If Ye Fan hadn’t intervened, they would already be dead.

"What are you doing?" Ye Fan demanded. "This is modern society, not the Ancient Martial World of a thousand years ago! You can’t just act recklessly, and you certainly can’t kill people in the street!"

He was genuinely scared now. This Witch really kills at the slightest provocation! This isn’t the ancient era. Killing someone in the street will cause huge trouble!

The Flame Witch simply said, "They deserved to die!"

"The law will punish them!" Ye Fan said hastily.

Visibly angry, the Flame Witch turned and walked away. Left with no choice, Ye Fan hurried after her. Just moments before, he had been trying to think of ways to ditch her, but he could no longer do that. He couldn’t begin to imagine how many more innocent people would die at her hands if the Witch truly lost control.
