Supreme Cultivation Master
Chapter 535 - 534: Gorgeous Fireworks
Even the leaders of the Spirit Suppressing Domain, along with Ye Fan’s women, were stunned. They couldn’t believe the outcome. Why would the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet do such a thing?
The Evil Vengeance Divine Pet, a creature of the Divine Race, had saved a mere mortal. It was an outcome no one could have predicted, even considering the mortal’s value. The price she paid, however, was her own life, which meant this went far beyond simple worth.
Ye Fan walked to the weakened Evil Vengeance Divine Pet and, with a great heave, yanked out the Divine Spear belonging to the West Spirit King.
"AHHH!"
A heart-wrenching scream tore from the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet. She collapsed into Ye Fan’s arms as he tried to save her with his Life Force, but she stopped him.
He looked down at her and asked, "Why were you so foolish?"
The Evil Vengeance Divine Pet answered weakly, "Because I owed you this."
"Owed me?" Ye Fan’s heart ached, but he was still overcome with confusion. What was all of this for?
"I was imprisoned in the Silent Spirit Pavilion for a thousand years," she explained. "I had grown accustomed to those sunless days, but after leaving, I came to truly hate them!
"You gave me the chance to be human. Your Ancestor Realm Bloodline became my source of life, allowing me to be like a normal person!
"My greatest dream has always been to be human, not a Divine Pet for eternity. And I’ve achieved it, though not completely," the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet said, a sense of release in her voice.
For some reason, Ye Fan felt a lump form in his throat, and he didn’t know how to respond.
Grief-stricken, he said, "If you hadn’t taken that spear for me, you could have continued to live as a human!" This was a new pain in his heart. I hate being indebted to others, especially with a debt of life—one I can never truly repay.
"It’s enough," the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet whispered. "At least I succeeded in being human once. But my body... it’s still so cold. I don’t like this coldness. I need a warm body! Please... I beg you, let me be a complete human, even if it’s just for a moment, as brief and brilliant as a firework!" she pleaded.
Ye Fan nodded. "Alright. I’ll make you a complete human."
In the vast Great Thousand World, every being has its own pursuit. The Evil Vengeance Divine Pet was already one of the most powerful experts in existence, yet she didn’t seek immortality or supreme strength. Her desire was simple: the chance to be human. It was a request so simple as to be profound. The very thing most people took for granted was the dream she chased with all her being.
Ye Fan sliced his finger open and infused her body with an endless stream of his Ancestor Realm Bloodline. He didn’t stop until her entire body had grown warm.
This was the result of the West Spirit King’s long-planned ambush, a scheme likely conceived even before the battle began. Because of his devastating attack, even with such a massive infusion of Ancestor Realm Bloodline, the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet could not be saved.
Perhaps it was a cruel fate. Or perhaps it was simply her own choice, the culmination of her deepest desire. To be human, even if it meant her life would be fleeting.
In that moment, the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet was filled with relief, not a hint of sadness or regret. Now fully human, she was utterly stunning. It was a tragic, heartbreaking beauty, far from the terrifying, red-clad specter she once was.
She said with contentment, "So this is what it feels like to be human...? It’s wonderful. I’ve fantasized countless times what this would feel like.
"I always imagined it would be beautiful, but only now, experiencing it for myself, do I realize it’s so much better than I ever dreamed!"
As she spoke these heart-rending words, Ye Fan couldn’t stop the sorrow from welling up, and tears streamed down his face. Even the Spirit Suppressing People behind him began to cry.
Once a Divine Pet, always a Divine Pet. From the moment of her creation, she was synonymous with being a servant of the Divine Race, a label she could never escape. Yet now, she had finally shed that title she so despised. From this moment on, she was no longer a Divine Pet.
This was destined to be a day of sorrow. The moment she realized that Ye Fan was the only one who could make her human, she had resolutely chosen to sacrifice her life to become one. This wasn’t a choice born of emotion, but the ultimate pursuit of a dream.
Ye Fan said, his voice thick with sorrow, "From this moment on, you are human. Not a Divine Pet. Everyone will know you as a human."
"My dream... is fulfilled. Thank you..."
With those weak, final words, her Life Force scattered, and she was gone.
Everyone was overcome with sorrow. As for the Martial Artists from the Spirit Domain, they felt no grief—only terror. They were, after all, on the losing side.
"AHHH!"
Ye Fan roared, unleashing all his pent-up emotion.
His cry startled everyone. Is this the prelude to his fury? Yes, it was. If this moment was the quiet before the storm, then a devastating tempest was about to strike.
He gently laid the body of the Evil Vengeance Divine Pet aside. Nearby, the West Spirit Spear thrashed as if still alive, trying to strike him. But in that instant, he summoned the Yuanhong Sword.
With a single downward slash, he shattered the West Spirit Spear.
It was an act of shocking audacity. Any other person, even a god, would have found the temptation of the West Spirit Spear irresistible. It was, after all, a priceless Spiritual Artifact. But in Ye Fan’s eyes, this so-called West Spirit Spear was worthless. To him, his own feelings were all that mattered. A peerless Spiritual Artifact lay before him, but it was the very weapon that had killed someone dear to him. How could he possibly keep it?
He then turned toward the West Spirit King. The man was grievously wounded, struggling desperately on the ground to get to his feet. But when he looked up and saw Ye Fan standing before him, his composure shattered, and a bone-deep fear flooded his heart.
"You... you can’t kill me!" he stammered.
"I am a descendant of the Rock God, one of the ten strongest masters in the Divine World! If you kill me, he will never forgive you!
"There’s still time to turn back!"
The West Spirit King desperately tried to reason with him. Everyone fears death, especially a powerful being such as himself. He had come so far to finally become a Spirit King; his talent and strength were undeniable. He didn’t want to die. Death meant losing everything.
But Ye Fan wasn’t listening. He had already raised the Yuanhong Sword.
"Don’t kill me! I can tell you the secret to becoming a god! I can help you find your Divinity, so you can merge with it and achieve godhood!"
When threats failed, he resorted to the ultimate temptation, hoping it would be enough to make Ye Fan lower his Yuanhong Sword.
