Chapter 993: The Heart of the Fire Anomaly
Chapter 993: The Heart of the Fire Anomaly
In the south, in the Fire Anomaly, Idan, Ned and his two clones did not encounter any serious obstacles, except for the periodic shock waves of the earth element. By the morning of the next day, they emerged from a cloud of thick smoke and ash, and they saw the heart of the Anomaly — a Giant Fire Tree blazing in the distance.
The base of the Tree was located in the mouth of an active volcano, from which tons of ash and lava erupted, and shock waves spread through the surrounding area.
It was a truly breathtaking sight, despite its dangerous nature and the place where it grew.
Idan, admiring the tree and its surroundings, turned and looked at the area filled with smoke and ash. After their second meeting, neither he nor Ned and his clones had seen the bird.
“I hope it survived,” he whispered.
For some reason, the bravery and pitifulness of the bird that dared to enter the Central Layer touched him. He wanted it to survive and perhaps return to the middle layer.
Not surprised that there were many Platinum-ranked beasts and creatures from other worlds gathered around the tree, Idan, sensing the approaching ripening of the Seeds of Law, hurried to the tree, simultaneously looking for a specific target.
After they left, an ash trail flew out of the ashes, as if from a cannon, from which a charred, ash-covered bird appeared. It large golden eyes fixed on the tree with awe and a certain amount of fear.
Sensing how fast Idan and Ned were moving away, the bird did not stay long, but followed them unnoticed, trying to keep the safe distance it had calculated earlier.
“Tsch! All connections are blocked again.”
Idan, after making sure that his {Whisper Talisman} wasn’t working, put it away.
“But I feel connected to the Kingdom, even though I can’t open the portal or even look inside.”
It was a little weird.
The connection seemed to be blocked, but at the same time it was not there.
“Okay, we’ll think about that later,” Idan thought, shaking his head to get rid of the many questions that, as often happened, began to appear one after another.
The distance that seemed close turned out to be deceptive. It took a while for Idan, Ned, and his clones to get to the closest and safest distance from the tree.
The closer they got, the more clearly, they realized how huge this tree was and how small they were compared to it.
The creatures gathered around the tree were divided into two groups. One of them was huge, while the other was significantly smaller. Despite the suppression of the law, fluctuations in strength could be seen, which indicated that the second group was one step higher.
The appearance of a group of four attractive young men with red hair and wings on their backs did not go unnoticed.
The Platinum-ranked beasts from the first large group that were able to reach this place not only had an affinity with the elements of fire and earth, but also demonstrated advanced intelligence. They were no longer wild creatures driven only by their instincts.
They quickly realized that Idan and his group were locals, unlike the other creatures from the second group. By the smell and fluctuations of power, they also determined that these people were not the ones they hated—the representatives of humanity who dominated the world before the great changes began.
In this regard, creatures from other worlds instantly recognized Idan and his companions as members of the Kingdom guild.
“A Fire Dragon and a Flaming Crane?” said Serafina, who was among the second group, with a smile. After studying the power fluctuations of Ned’s two clones, she turned her gaze back to Idan and Ned.
They looked like twin brothers, with slight differences created by Ned intentionally so as not to look one hundred percent like his Master.
Idan and his group stopped in midair in the center of the small space separating the two groups.
The first thing Idan did was glance at the gathered beasts. There were many, very many of them, and this caused some concern.
In the almost ten days that have passed since the Anomalies appeared, a huge number of Platinum-ranked beasts have appeared in the world. If all of them leave the Anomalies, it could create serious problems for the Federation and beyond.
In the eyes of each beast, Idan noticed intelligence and alertness. They didn’t show their teeth or growl at him. Their behavior was quite calm, but Idan knew that their true nature was hidden behind this calm, ready to manifest at any moment — for protection or in an effort to get what they wanted, for example, the seed of the law.
Only then did Idan turn his attention to creatures from other worlds.
To his surprise, there were not only Creatures of Light and Darkness present, but also some Creatures of Fire. In addition, there were local Platinum-ranked beasts next to them.
Idan ignored the smiling Serafina and his gaze fell on the creatures of Darkness, searching for a specific personality — the Dark Panther.
However, no matter how closely he looked, there was not a single female Dark Panther among the Creatures of Darkness present, let alone a representative of this race at all.
Idan couldn’t have been mistaken. His {Eyes of Identification} did not lie.
“Is she really not here?” frowned Idan, followed by disappointment.
“Who are you looking for with your eyes, Idan?” asked Serafina, somewhat displeased that he was not paying attention to her.
Idan had just turned his gaze to her. Besides her, there were more than a dozen Creatures of Light who looked somewhat depressed and gloomy. Unlike them, Serafina remained calm and even smiled brightly.
Idan ignored her again and, without giving an answer, turned his gaze to the Creatures of Fire. Seeing the greed in their eyes, he couldn’t help but ask:
“Are you also interested in my bloodline?”𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
His question took all the Creatures of Fire by surprise.
“Huh? Where are you…” one of them began, but he was interrupted by the one who stood at the head of the group.
“What happened to Corgo?” he asked Idan.
“Corgo?” — Idan pretended not to know who he was talking about, activating his {Eyes of Identification} at the same time.
“Huh? Another Diamond-ranked Flaming Condor? And with the name Colgo? I wonder if he’s the brother of the one I beheaded.”
Idan gave Colgo a smile and said:
“Don’t wait for him, he won’t come back. I personally took care of it.”
Colgo’s face darkened as he realized the meaning of Idan’s words.
And then something amazing happened.
The giant tree, which had previously refused to let anyone near it and attacked anyone who approached it, began to tremble.
Then one of its branches, with its seeds still unripe, began to move and, most surprisingly, rushed towards Idan and his group.
Idan was no less stunned by what was happening and even a little scared. But then, feeling a response in his right hand, he raised it and saw how his ring, which serves as the key to the Kingdom, responds to the actions of the tree.
