When the PE teacher announced free activities, as soon as the group dispersed, Zhang Danlin ran over to Hao Jian and asked, "Hao Jian, let's play badminton together, no one else is playing with me."

Actually, with Zhang Danlin's lively personality and wide social circle, if she wanted to play badminton, it would be impossible not to find someone. The reason she said this was because she just wanted to play with Hao Jian. She saw Liang Xiaohan teasing Hao Jian during class, and Hao Jian even flirted back with raised eyebrows without any hint of blame, which upset her. Since you can be like that with Hao Jian, I want to play badminton with him.

Hao Jian was slightly taken aback and said, "Alright!"

Anyway, there was still some time before the class ended, and with nothing else to do, playing badminton to kill time sounded good. He agreed and walked towards Zhang Danlin, preparing to take the badminton racket from her.

However, at this moment, Liang Xiaohan suddenly called out to Hao Jian, "Hao Jian, come over here."

Hearing this, Hao Jian, who was just about to take the racket from Zhang Danlin's hand, immediately retracted his hand, gave Zhang Danlin an apologetic smile, and ran over to Liang Xiaohan.

Seeing this, Zhang Danlin pouted angrily as soon as Liang Xiaohan called Hao Jian over and he immediately ran to her.

Not long after, Hao Jian ran back from Liang Xiaohan, smiling and ready to take the racket from Zhang Danlin's hand. But just as he reached for it, Zhang Danlin's expression changed, and she suddenly pulled the racket back.

"Not playing," Zhang Danlin said suddenly, her face showing an unhappy expression.

Hao Jian was puzzled, "Not playing?"

He was a bit confused, she was so enthusiastic just a minute ago, and now she suddenly didn't want to play. Her mood certainly shifted quickly.

"Come on! There's still some time, and it's boring not to play," Hao Jian tried to convince her.

Zhang Danlin glared at Hao Jian with wide eyes. She expected Hao Jian to ask why she didn't want to play anymore, but instead, he urged her to continue playing. He didn't care at all that she was abandoned by Liang Xiaohan so easily. Didn't he know why she suddenly didn't want to play?

Frustrated, she huffed at Hao Jian and turned away, leaving him standing there, baffled. To be honest, he really didn't know why Zhang Danlin suddenly got angry, without any apparent reason.

Maybe Hao Jian just didn't understand. When he looked over at Hu Lai and Fatty, they shrugged at him, also pretending not to know, though they were actually aware but chose not to say.

After idling away quite some time and sitting around in boredom, the class ended shortly after. A group of people returned to the classroom, rested for a while, and soon another class started. As he found the class dull, Hao Jian listened boredly and fell asleep.

Thus the afternoon passed this way, and so did the evening. When the evening self-study class ended, Liang Xiaohan left without saying a word to Hao Jian, leaving him to walk back home alone.

Zhang Danlin, since the PE class, had been ignoring Hao Jian. Even when they met in the hallway and Hao Jian greeted her, she responded indifferently. So, after the evening self-study, she didn't ask Hao Jian to walk her home but left with some close classmates.

Hao Jian walked idly down the road. As he was walking, he happened to pass the late-night snack shop again, glancing over unintentionally to see if Li Weiwei was there. As he glanced over, he was taken aback, for Li Weiwei was indeed sitting there.

Li Weiwei was currently sitting alone in the night snack shop, drinking alcohol.

Hao Jian had seen her drinking alone in the night snack shop more than once. He was really surprised, what was going on with a woman staying out late frequently at a night snack shop drinking? Could she have something on her mind?

He initially planned to walk directly over but noticed many bottles on Li Weiwei's table, and she looked drunk as well. Seeing her drunk, a girl drunk outside, especially in a night snack shop, was really dangerous. Didn't she know?

He suddenly felt some of the women who seem quite mature were actually still kids.

Seeing this, he couldn't just walk away anymore. Having seen Li Weiwei drunk, if he just walked away and something happened to her, he'd surely feel guilty. So, after thinking for a while, he walked over to the drunken Li Weiwei.

When he walked over, Li Weiwei was holding a bottle of liquor, pouring it into her stomach without restraint. It was unclear what sorrow she encountered, drinking herself into such a state. As he walked over, he caught the strong scent of alcohol emanating from her.

"Bang!" Li Weiwei was so drunk that her body was no longer under her control. After finishing a bottle, she tried to place it on the table and stand up to get more, but as she rose, her foot slipped, losing balance, she fell over.

Coincidentally, Hao Jian had just walked up to her. He immediately reached out and caught her in his arms. Li Weiwei's body was soft, carrying a faint fragrance, which instantly seeped into Hao Jian's heart.

"Who are you? Let go of me!" Li Weiwei was about to fall, but was caught by Hao Jian, preventing her from hitting the ground.

Her mind was slightly clear yet not fully sober. Upon realizing a guy was holding her, she angrily said this to Hao Jian.

When Li Weiwei spoke, Hao Jian caught a whiff of alcohol from her breath, knowing she was dead drunk. He ignored her words, carried her to a stool, and made her sit down. No sooner had she sat, Li Weiwei tried to get up to grab more alcohol. Each time she took the bottle, she nearly fell again.

Seeing this, Hao Jian quickly supported her and made her sit back down.

"Alcohol! Give me alcohol!" Li Weiwei shouted.

A woman of Goddess Level beauty was now drunk, acting like a madwoman. Initially, Hao Jian thought to take away all the alcohol to prevent her from drinking more. However, seeing her heartbroken look, he figured not letting her drink might make her even sadder. It might be better for her to drown her sorrows in alcohol, and after she completely drinks herself out, perhaps she wouldn't feel so miserable.

So, without hesitation, he grabbed all the drinks and placed them in front of Li Weiwei, opening one for her and saying, "Drink, drink, drink to your heart's content."

Upon seeing the alcohol, Li Weiwei beamed with joy, seized the bottle from Hao Jian, and gulped it down. Hao Jian didn't stop her, allowing her to drink as she pleased. He figured, once she drank until she threw up and felt dizzy, she might not want to touch alcohol anymore in the future.

Yet somehow, Li Weiwei seemed to unleash boundless potential, quickly downing a bottle and then another, belching after drinking, then giving Hao Jian a foolish grin.

At this moment, the night snack shop owner, familiar with Li Weiwei as she was a regular, noticed an unfamiliar man suddenly beside her. Surprised, the owner approached and looked at Hao Jian.

Hao Jian understood what was going through the shopowner's mind—probably suspecting him of being a rogue trying to take advantage of a drunken Li Weiwei.

Thus, when he saw the owner looking his way, Hao Jian explained, "Li Weiwei is my friend. I came over after seeing her drunk."

Hearing Hao Jian casually mention Li Weiwei's name, coupled with him not seeming like he wanted to take advantage, the owner relaxed, promptly saying, "Alright, then. If you need anything else, just let us know."

Hao Jian acknowledged with a nod, and the owner walked away.

Meanwhile, Li Weiwei was already sprawled over the table, still appearing eager to drink. Resigned, Hao Jian opened another bottle, placed it in front of her, letting her drink. She grabbed the bottle and immediately started chugging straight from it. Initially, she drank fast, but slowed significantly halfway through.

As she was about to finish two-thirds of the bottle, an uncomfortable expression suddenly flashed across her face. Instantly, she set the bottle aside, feeling her stomach churn, instinctively reaching out to cover her mouth.

She felt like throwing up.

However, using her hand to cover her mouth couldn't hold back the waves of alcohol.

Suddenly, she didn't make it; sitting there, hand just over her mouth, she vomited.

"Ugh..."

Vomit splattered everywhere, covering her hand, yet her stomach kept churning, and she threw up again, and once more after that.

Repeatedly, she heaved three to four times before finally stopping.

Hao Jian watched, his face a mix of helplessness and wonder—why drink so much when it causes so much suffering?

He grabbed some tissues, handing them to Li Weiwei, who took them to wipe her mouth and then her hands.

But before she could clean up, she suddenly covered her mouth again and once more threw up.
