Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours! - Chapter 62: Damien Sinclair Has Been Released
Adrian Grant didnât take Raina Lowellâs words to heart.
He had sent Elias Sheridan to visit the child. đđđđđđđ«đŁđžđ«đźđ.đđđ¶
No matter how uncomfortable the child was, Elias Sheridan should be able to handle it.
Thinking about Raina Lowellâs stubbornness, he didnât mind her past behavior anymore. He took the initiative to reconcile, wanting to maintain their marriage.
But she was ungrateful and insisted on a divorce.
The more Adrian thought about it, the more stifled he felt. He lost his appetite for breakfast and went straight to the office.
When Raina Lowell went downstairs, she tried to leave.
The bodyguards at the door wouldnât let her take a step outside.
After breakfast, she could only return to the elderly personâs room and talk to them in a self-conversational manner.
But no matter what she said, the elder in the bed showed no sign of waking.
All day, Raina Lowell sat by the elderâs side, always worrying about her son.
Finally, she waited for Adrian Grant to come home from work and eagerly went downstairs to see him.
Before Adrian Grant entered the door, she came out to meet him and softened her tone:
"I want to go back to Lowell Manor."
Adrian Grant gave her a glance, dressed in a classic black suit, steady and restrained, and avoided her as he walked into the house, "Has Grandpa woken up?"
Raina Lowell followed next to him, "No."
"Then what right do you have to leave?"
Adrian Grant undid his buttons, took off his jacket, and tossed it to the waiting maid, climbing the stairs in his vest and shirt.
Raina Lowell was still following behind him.
Looking at the man in front of her, tall with long legs and outstanding temperament.
She didnât deny, he had an impressive appearance, a prestigious family background, and exceptional ability.
Such an excellent man, any woman would love.
But she really couldnât love him anymore.
She only had Evelyn now.
Really afraid that Evelyn, like Aurora, would be kidnapped and taken away from her.
To protect her son, she had to keep him by her side at all times.
Running ahead, she crossed the stairs and directly blocked Adrian Grantâs way.
"I donât know when Grandpa will wake up. Let me go back to Lowell Manor to see Evelyn, or bring him here, and Iâll stay here waiting for Grandpa to wake."
Adrian Grant stared at her, "Why should I comply with you?"
She wasnât willing to comply with him, so why should he submit to whatever she said?
This ungrateful wretch, sometimes without giving her a lesson, she really didnât know who she was offending.
"Adrian Grant, my Aurora is already gone. Even if I beg you, can you send Evelyn to me?"
Without her son by her side, she really couldnât be at ease.
Thinking of being away from her son for another day and night, Raina Lowell felt restless.
Adrian Grant finally couldnât stand her pitiful look, bypassing her to return to the room.
"If you didnât insist on divorce, Iâd naturally comply with everything."
He was still giving her a chance.
This was also his great tolerance and concession as an older husband to his wife.
If she didnât comply, she couldnât blame him for being too cold-blooded.
Raina Lowell stood frozen, not following him anymore.
Not divorcing, would Adrian Grant send Evelyn to her?
Then once again, she would endure her inner grievances, watching him entangle with Isabelle Everett?
That kind of marriage, she really didnât want to hold on for even a moment longer.
But Evelyn couldnât leave her.
For Evelyn to come back to her side, Raina Lowell braced herself and entered Adrian Grantâs room.
She saw Adrian Grant changing clothes, his back to the door, with a perfect figure displayed in front of her, appearing grand and charming.
Raina Lowell avoided her gaze and spoke up:
"If you promise me one more thing, I wonât divorce."
Adrian Grant paused in his dressing, turning his head slightly.
But he didnât look at her, and after a moment, he continued dressing, "Say it."
"Help me find Aurora. As long as my Aurora can return, Iâll agree not to divorce."
This request was not excessive.
After all, he had always been sending people to look for that child.
Adrian Grant finished dressing, looked down to button his shirt, and told her, "Finding Aurora takes time, you have to give me time."
Seeing that he agreed, Raina Lowell nodded in response:
"Okay, Iâll give you three months. If you canât find my Aurora, you let me go."
Adrian Grant thought if a child couldnât be found in three months, then perhaps theyâd never return.
If he couldnât keep her, he would let her fulfill her wish.
Adrian Grant agreed but didnât want to satisfy her immediately.
Otherwise, she would become more demanding and uncontrollable.
"Then you accompany Grandpa well. Iâll see your performance this week. If you do well, Iâll have someone bring Evelyn over."
When Raina Lowell heard it would take another week to see her son, she became anxious.
"No, I want to see him now."
"No room for negotiation."
Adrian Grant walked to her front, standing tall and arrogant, his handsome face darkened.
"Raina Lowell, donât forget you are my wife, but those two children are not mine. Me being able to accept them is already my greatest concession."
"If you canât even stick it out for a week, I think we have nothing to discuss."
He bypassed her to leave.
Raina Lowell thought that this man was willing to help her find her daughter, so as long as her son was safe, she could endure not seeing him for a week.
Turning to look at Adrian Grantâs back, she agreed:
"Then promise me you wonât let anything happen to Evelyn again and take good care of him."
Adrian Grant stopped in his tracks and agreed, "Rest assured, your Ms. Ford and Madam Cole will take good care of him."
He turned around and faced her, his gaze much softer than a moment ago.
He even took the initiative to hold her hand, "Letâs go down for dinner."
Raina Lowell didnât want to interact with him.
Thinking about his affair with Isabelle Everett made her feel nauseous.
But for the sake of her child, she could endure it.
In the end, she placed her hand in his palm, just like any other couple, showing affection as they walked downstairs.
In the dining room, Mr. and Mrs. Grant were already seated.
For Raina Lowellâs return from the dead, Mrs. Grantâs attitude towards her improved significantly.
Seeing her being led to sit beside her son, she proactively began talking to her:
"Youâve been keeping watch over your grandfather all day; you must be exhausted. You donât need to watch over him tonight; your father and I will do it."
Itâs not easy for someone to return alive.
The old man at home was already on the brink, and since their son had married this woman, they should let things go well.
It would be best if she could bear a few more children for the Grant Family, making the manor feel less desolate.
Thinking of children, Mrs. Grant fixed her gaze on Raina Lowell, reminding her:
"You should quickly get your health in order; thereâs no time to waste on preparing to conceive."
Hearing this, Raina Lowell lowered her head awkwardly, wanting to confess her inability to conceive.
However, Adrian Grant held her hand beside her.
Adrian Grant looked at the elders, continuing the conversation:
"Mom, she just came back. Can we not bring up the topic of children?"
Raina canât have children anymore.
Every time itâs mentioned, it surely hurts her.
Who knows, in a moment of impatience, she might blurt out about having had a child abroad with someone else.
If his parents found out that Raina had someone elseâs child, they would undoubtedly force a divorce.
Therefore, the fact that Raina canât have children must not be disclosed to his parents for now.
Mrs. Grant realized she was a bit hasty and didnât say more, considering Raina Lowellâs condition.
Roland Grant was always afraid of his wife.
Seeing his wife silent, he didnât dare say more, silently serving her food.
Adrian Grant followed suit, also serving Raina Lowell, reminding her:
"Youâre too thin. Eat more."
Raina Lowell was absent-minded.
Her daughterâs fate was unknown, her son wasnât by her side, and her dearest grandfather was still unconscious.
She had no appetite at all.
After only a few bites, she put down her utensils and got up to leave.
Adrian Grant stood up to follow, somewhat displeased as he stopped her.
"Whatâs wrong with you again? The elders havenât put down their chopsticks, why are you leaving?"
Only after avoiding the elders did Raina Lowell face him with a request, "I donât have to see Evelyn, but can you let me have a video call with him?"
"Only when I see him healthy can I be at ease."
Otherwise, her heart was constantly on edge.
Adrian Grant found her constant melancholy and sensitivity quite uncomfortable.
"Raina Lowell, in the month you were gone, I took good care of your son. Do you think now that youâre back, I would do anything to him?"
"Canât you give me a bit of trust?"
It seemed as if she believed he would mistreat her son.
Even though he wasnât biologically his, having chosen to accept them, he naturally treated them as his own.
Seeing that he disagreed, Raina Lowell realized further requests would backfire and returned to her room.
Adrian Grant was about to follow when his phone rang.
It was a call from Caleb Landon.
He answered, and Caleb reported:
"Boss, Damien Sinclair has been diagnosed with a mental illness and has been released."
Adrian Grant hadnât expected the young Sinclair heir to have some ability.
Even with everything orchestrated, he was unharmed and got out of custody.
Knowing that as long as Damien Sinclair was around, Raina would never be at peace staying with him.
Adrian Grant ordered, "Get him out of Northgate; I donât want to see him again."
After hanging up, he called Elias Sheridan to inquire about the childâs situation.
Elias Sheridanâs tone was somewhat heavy, "The childâs body seems fine, but he keeps complaining of a stomach ache."
"I think he just misses his mother and is faking it. Why donât you let Raina Lowell come and see him?"
Yet, he was surprised at how well a two-year-old could act.
The performance was so convincing that he couldnât see through it.
Had the medical exams not shown the child was perfectly fine, he might have suspected the child suffered from some ailment.
Adrian Grant still didnât want Raina Lowell to see the child, dismissing it with:
"Didnât he like you before? Comfort him properly. If you canât even handle a child, what kind of doctor are you?"
He hung up.
Truly believing the child was feigning illness, he didnât pay much attention.
Returning to the room, he saw Raina was already asleep.
Adrian Grant took a shower and then got into bed.
He embraced Raina Lowell from behind, snuggling into her neck, intending to be affectionate.
However, Raina Lowell evaded, pulling up the covers to shield herself, coldly saying:
"Adrian Grant, give me some time. Iâm not in the mood right now."
Adrian Grant saw her expression full of disdain.
A pang of bitterness surged in his heart.
Especially knowing Damien Sinclair had been released, he felt even more displeased.
He asked with a sour tone, "Do you really despise me for being old and not as good-looking as your childâs father?"
