Survival of the Nation: I Can Specify the Items That Will Drop
Chapter 251: Exploring the Fourth Layer
Lin Feng stood still; these three Undead Knights were more than enough for the others to handle.
Jiang Yelan's figure suddenly vanished mid-charge.
The next second, she appeared behind the Undead Knight on the far right.
【Shadow Step】 activated: initial damage increased by 30%; if the target is unaware, ignore 30% of their defense.
The shadow moon blade pierced through the gap in the knight's waist armor from behind, "-320."
The Undead Knight's body jerked violently as it swung its scimitar back, but Jiang Yelan had already vanished into the shadows.
Jiang Zhaoyue rushed in front of the pinned Undead Knight and thrust her spear twice in rapid succession—【Silver Cross Slash】.
Two quick thrusts: the first deals 100% damage, the second deals 150% damage. Cooldown: 20 seconds.
The first strike pierced the knight's chest, "-300."
The second strike followed immediately, piercing through the breastplate and emerging from the back, "-430."
The blue flames in the Undead Knight's eyes abruptly extinguished, and its body slid off the horse's back, hitting the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
Having lost its master, the Skeleton Warhorse stood dazed for a moment before dissipating into a wisp of black smoke.
On Jiang Yelan's side, the shadow moon blade had already pierced the Undead Knight's throat for the second time.
The knight's health bar plummeted under the continuous Backstabs. Within a few breaths, the blue fire in its eyes went out, and it tumbled from its mount.
The last Undead Knight was besieged by Shi Pojun, Zhao Hu, Tie Dun, and Feng Qingyan.
Shi Pojun's tower shield blocked the charge of the lance, while Zhao Hu's bone-crushing greatsword hacked at the horse's legs.
Tie Dun slammed his troll bone shield into the knight's side, and Feng Qingyan's Flame Burst exploded on the knight's chest in one burst of fire after another.
Su Yurou's Healing Spell flickered alternately across the five of them, keeping their health bars consistently stable.
In just a few breaths, the Undead Knight's health bar went from full to zero.
The corpses of the three Undead Knights lay scattered across the plain, and all the Skeleton Warhorses dissipated into black smoke.
Loot materialized beside the corpses: a pair of boots glowing with blue light and several blue crystals.
Feng Qingyan stowed her staff, stamping her feet in excitement. "There are so many high-level mobs here! If there are even higher-level ones, I could reach level twenty-nine in ten days!"
Everyone laughed; even the corners of Shi Pojun's mouth twitched upward slightly.
Lin Feng stepped forward, leaning down to pick up the blue boots and the blue crystals.
The boots were of Blue quality with good attributes, increasing Agility and Movement Speed.
He looked at Jiang Zhaoyue and handed the boots over. "Lord Jiang, your group take these boots."
Jiang Zhaoyue took the boots, glanced at the attributes, and nodded without declining. "Thank you, Lord Lin."
Lin Feng then handed the blue crystals to Zhao Hu. "Keep these safe; we'll divide them once we're back." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Zhao Hu took the blue crystals and stuffed them into his rucksack.
Lin Feng looked up toward the depths of the plain.
The soul fire burned silently overhead, illuminating the ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) entire plain in a cold white light.
In the distance, more dark shadows could be seen moving indistinctly—perhaps more Undead Knights, or perhaps something else.
The difficulty of the fourth floor was incomparable to the first three. They were already very tired today; they couldn't afford to be greedy.
"That's enough for today." Lin Feng turned to face the group.
"We'll return to the third floor to rest. We'll come back down to explore the fourth floor tomorrow morning."
Everyone nodded. Tie Dun was the first to head back, muttering, "I'm exhausted, I'm exhausted. I need to sleep."
Feng Qingyan followed behind him, still rambling about "killing a few more tomorrow."
Lin Feng was the last to leave the fourth floor.
He stood before the light curtain, looked back at the vast plain, and then stepped through.
After returning to the third floor, the group found a relatively dry and spacious mine tunnel to set up camp.
Tie Dun tossed his shield onto the ground, lay right down on top of it, and closed his eyes to sleep.
Zhao Hu and Wang Wu went to gather some dry wood. There was no shortage of such things in the mine tunnels—abandoned sleepers and rotting wooden frames were everywhere.
Feng Qingyan used a small flame to light a campfire, and the orange-red light made the tunnel feel warm and bright.
Su Yurou pulled dry rations and water skins from her rucksack and distributed them to everyone.
A Wang and Scarface Liu sat on either side of the cave entrance to keep watch for the night.
Jiang Zhaoyue sat by the fire, wiping her silver moon sky spear with a soft cloth. The lunar phase patterns on the spear flickered in the firelight.
Jiang Yelan sat in a corner with her shadow moon blade resting across her knees.
Lin Feng sat by the fire, his Wildfire Spear leaning against the rock wall.
He looked at everyone; their tired faces all bore smiles. They had gained much today.
The third floor was cleared, they had seen the fourth floor, killed several high-level mobs, leveled up, and obtained equipment.
Tie Dun was already snoring.
Feng Qingyan poked at the fire with a stick, causing sparks to fly up like tiny shooting stars.
She watched the sparks, her lips curved in a smile, lost in thought.
The campfire burned in the tunnel, casting everyone's shadows onto the rock walls, stretching and shrinking.
From deep within the tunnels, the rhythmic 'thump thump' of Marmot Monsters mining occasionally drifted over, sounding like a lullaby.
Lin Feng leaned against the rock wall and closed his eyes.
Tomorrow, the fourth floor. Those Undead Knights were just the appetizers; the real challenge was still ahead.
But he wasn't in a hurry. He would take it step by step. Sooner or later, he would completely conquer this Dungeon.
The flames danced in the cave, pushing back a small patch of darkness. Twelve people fell into a deep sleep within the abandoned mine tunnel.
...
The next morning, Lin Feng opened his eyes. The first thing he did was sense the Blazing Spear Light within the Wildfire Spear.
Sixty wisps, all fully recovered, not a single one missing.
Sixty wisps of spear light meant he could fight without holding back today.
The others woke up one after another. Tie Dun yawned as he climbed off his shield, an indentation from the shield's edge pressed into his face, making him look quite comical.
Zhao Hu and Wang Wu had already started a fire, and Su Yurou pulled dry rations from her rucksack to distribute.
The rations were flatbread and jerky they had restocked in Lucky Town yesterday. Though they were hard as rocks, being able to eat something warm after a night in the tunnels was a luxury.
Feng Qingyan sat by the fire, slicing the jerky very thinly with a knife and chewing it slowly piece by piece.
Shi Pojun squatted beside her, holding an iron bowl of flatbread mush soaked in hot water. He drank it slowly, as if savoring some incredible delicacy.
Jiang Zhaoyue stood at the cave entrance, facing the direction of the fourth floor with her silver moon sky spear on her back.
Lin Feng stuffed the last piece of flatbread into his mouth, brushed the crumbs off his hands, and stood up.
He scanned the group, his gaze pausing briefly on A Wang and Scarface Liu. He said in a heavy voice:
"The difficulty of the fourth floor likely far exceeds the first three. Those who haven't reached their second promotion, stay on the third floor on standby."
Scarface Liu cupped his fists. "Be careful, Lord."
Lin Feng then looked at Arrow Eye and Wang Wu. "You two as well, stay behind."
Wang Wu and Arrow Eye nodded.
"Let's go." Lin Feng turned and was the first to step into the light curtain.
The others gathered their gear and followed in single file, passing through the light curtain and re-entering the fourth floor.
The soul fire still hung from the ceiling, its cold white light illuminating the entire plain like daylight.
In the distance, undead figures moved slowly across the horizon—some in small groups, others wandering alone.
The undead on the plain weren't densely packed, but their numbers were still considerable.
Lin Feng walked at the front, Wildfire Spear in hand, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
