Teng Qian’s voice cut Wu Yue off. The surrounding slaves stood up uneasily and retreated to their thatched huts.

To Wu Yue’s surprise, a few youngsters actually approached her on their own, though they still looked terrified.

The young slaves nodded obediently, then carried the stone pot aside and got right to work.
