Surviving in the Beast World with a System
Chapter 373 - 343: The Ship of Friendship Capsizes Just Like That
The uninjured Beastmen hoisted their incapacitated companions onto their backs and swiftly departed.
The solemn look on Yuan Lang’s face vanished. He reached into the bamboo tube at his waist, pulled out a dark, black object, and flung it toward the giant iron clawed insect. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
The giant python had been sleeping soundly inside the bamboo tube when it was suddenly snatched up by a hand with a very familiar scent. Before it could even complain, it found itself being thrown through the air.
As its senses slowly returned, it became acutely aware that it was hurtling toward an incredibly powerful presence.
"HISSSSSSS!"
’WTF!’
’So this is the kind of Beastman you are?!’
’Aren’t we supposed to be best buds?!’
Yuan Lang rubbed his nose. "That thing is too strong. It almost snipped me in two."
"As my good buddy, you’re going to help me out, right? Just keep it busy for a little while so the tribe can get away. Then we can both make a run for it."
The giant python scoffed. ’That’s not what you said a minute ago, you bastard.’
’But in this situation, could it really refuse?’
Obviously not. Its small, beady eyes shot a venomous glare at Yuan Lang—that disloyal Beastman—before its body suddenly began to expand.
By the time it landed, it had transformed into a massive python, emanating a fearsome, chilling aura.
It channeled all its rage at the unreliable Beastman, Yuan Lang, toward the Iron Claw Worm before it.
With a piercing hiss, its body shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, lunging at its opponent.
The Iron Claw Worm might have been a bit dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of this giant creature, but that didn’t curb its arrogant aggression, ready to snap at anything and everything.
It didn’t care who you were; its pincers would be the first to greet you.
Yuan Lang wasn’t idle, either. He coordinated with the giant python’s assault, periodically darting in to harass the beast. For a moment, the giant iron clawed insect was actually thrown into a fluster, its pincers scrambling chaotically.
The giant python had managed to save its own skin when its life was on the line by shrinking down and acting cute. Regardless of its actual combat strength, its intelligence was at least up to par.
The moment it sensed the Iron Claw Worm’s aura, it knew it was no match for it.
So, it didn’t engage in a direct confrontation. Instead, while the Iron Claw Worm was busy chasing Yuan Lang, the python slithered up a giant tree, killed some unknown beast, and coiled its tail around the carcass.
Then, it leisurely dangled its tail, with the beast’s body still wrapped in it, and began to "fish" for the Iron Claw Worm.
Yuan Lang couldn’t help but sneer at the sight. ’Such a crude trick. If the Iron Claw Worm actually falls for that, it would be... ahem!’
He didn’t believe the Iron Claw Worm would be lured in by such an obviously crude tactic, but reality proved that anything was possible.
As the giant python’s tail rose and fell, the giant iron clawed insect actually began leaping up from below, trying to snap its pincers around the prey dangling from the python’s tail.
’So, this thing grew a massive body but left its brain behind?’
A moment later, a huge head emerged from the canopy of another tree and nudged up against Yuan Lang. "HISSS!"
’Are they not done yet, damn it?!’
’The muscles in my tail are about to go rigid from holding this thing!’
Yuan Lang cleared his throat. "Just a bit longer. Once they reach a safe place, the tribe will roar to let me know."
A clear look of disdain flashed through the giant python’s eyes. It was just about to turn its massive head back when, in the next instant, tears welled up in its enormous eyes, and it let out a pained shriek.
Yuan Lang whipped his head around to look. The giant iron clawed insect had managed to clamp down on a small section of the python’s tail.
The giant python’s massive head vanished from the treetop in an instant. The next moment, the bait and the giant iron clawed insect were flung into the distance, along with a black object about the length of a Beastman’s palm.
Yuan Lang knew it had to be the tip of the giant python’s tail.
The next instant, the giant python shot out of the canopy, coiled around Yuan Lang, and sped off in the direction the Snow Tiger Tribe beastmen had fled.
Along the way, the giant python hissed continuously as it traveled. When it got particularly worked up, it would even turn its head back, clearly cursing him out.
Yuan Lang, the target of this tirade, simply huddled obediently on the python’s body. If not for the giant python, his odds of survival would have been slim. ’Better to just endure it.’
But as the saying goes, one either erupts in silence or goes crazy in silence.
Yuan Lang didn’t want to go crazy, so he decisively chose to erupt. "Alright, enough with the nagging! I used a lot of my precious medicinal herbs to treat your injuries before, and did I say anything?"
The giant python shot back a furious hiss.
’You did! You said I was just a waste of good medicine, a freeloader, and that you’d saved a useless python!’
Yuan Lang turned his face away with perfect composure. "I don’t recall saying anything of the sort. I saved you out of the kindness of my heart."
