Surviving in the Beast World with a System
Chapter 397 - 351: The Settlement is Gone?
The Snow Tiger Witch pursed her lips. "I doubt they have the skill to catch a Water Beast. They’re eating Sharp-toothed Fish. As long as you cut their heads off while they’re alive, they’re edible and not poisonous."
The grin on the Black Wolf Witch’s face instantly brightened. "You old tiger! Why didn’t you tell me about such delicious food sooner?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
With that, he scurried down toward his tribesmen below.
The Snow Tiger Witch watched the Black Wolf Tribe members below erupt in excitement, and her lip couldn’t help but twitch. She waved over a nearby Half beastman Warrior. "Go keep an eye on them. Don’t let anything happen."
The Half beastman Warrior nodded and left.
The Snow Tiger Witch muttered to herself, "’I really hope nothing happens. I don’t have many herbs left.’"
The last attack from the giant iron clawed insect had truly spurred Wu Yue’s ambition. After dealing with the Black Wolf Tribe’s affairs, she went straight into a reclusive lifestyle.
She did nothing but eat, sleep, and cultivate, and she managed to improve by a huge margin in a short amount of time.
Seeing its host’s workaholic-like behavior, the System had no choice but to swallow its sarcastic comments.
Although they had plenty of food, the rainy season dragged on, causing the worried expressions on the faces of the members of both tribes to deepen.
Since the rainy season had started early, everyone assumed it would also end early. But to everyone’s surprise, this rainy season not only began ahead of schedule, but was also ending late.
Watching the rain still drizzling outside the cave, Wu Yue felt like she was about to shrivel up completely.
"When is this rainy season ever going to end?"
Yuan Lang said from her side, "If this were like previous years, it should have ended by now. But as it is, it shows no sign of stopping."
Wu Yue sighed. The only small comfort was that the floodwaters had begun to slowly recede.
This meant that in some places, the rain had started to lighten, or even stop completely.
「A week later.」
Wu Yue, still groggy after waking up, was startled wide awake by bursts of cheering from within the cave.
She hastily threw on some clothes and walked out of the cave. Seeing the Black Wolf Tribe members jumping and cheering on the open ground by the cave, she was baffled. "What’s going on?"
"The rain outside has stopped."
The Beastman’s deep, magnetic voice sounded beside her, carrying the unique, scorching heat of his body.
A delighted smile spread across Wu Yue’s face at his words. "It finally stopped!"
’Heavens knew, she was about to go crazy from being cooped up in the cave all this time.’
She immediately broke into a run, dashing toward the cave entrance.
Yuan Lang hurried to keep up.
The other tribe members were just as excited as Wu Yue, and everyone walked out of the cave, talking and laughing.
Sure enough, although the sky was still a bit gloomy, no raindrops were falling.
But looking at the sticky ground beneath their feet, it would likely be some time before they could move back to the tribe.
That day at noon, the long-awaited sun shone down on the lands of the Polar Forest, and plumes of water vapor began to rise from the ground.
The young cubs were no longer kept inside by their Fathers and Amus, and they started to run, jump, and play outside the cave.
The females, for their part, shouldered their baskets and began to search the surrounding area for edible food.
They even managed to find many small Iron Claw Worms and Sharp-toothed Fish still struggling on the river shoals.
Returning home meant another sumptuous meal.
"Yue, do you want to go take a look at the tribe?"
Yuan Lang asked, looking at the young female beside him.
Wu Yue’s eyes lit up. She nodded at once. "Of course."
The Beastman chuckled at her response, sweeping her into his arms and leaping down the mountain.
He was incredibly fast, and they arrived at the tribe in just a few minutes.
Only...
Staring at the flat river shoals before her, Wu Yue’s lip twitched in disbelief. "This is our tribe?"
Yuan Lang was also stunned for a moment, then he gave a bitter smile. "It really is."
Then he pointed in the direction of the altar. "That’s our altar. You can still make out some of the highest steps."
’So, the entire Snow Tiger Tribe was buried under mud and sand?’
She couldn’t help but look at Yuan Lang. "Has it been like this before? Does all this mud and sand need to be cleared out?"
Yuan Lang said, "We’ve had to clear out mud and sand in the past, but at most, it was only ever enough to cover the tops of our feet. This time, the tribe is completely buried."
Quite a few other tribe members had the same idea as them, but when everyone saw the tribe buried in mud and sand, the atmosphere grew tense.
