The third and fourth squad stepped forward and did their thing. The third squad used electric attacks to make use of the ice and augment the power of their attacks. Still, the number of members on the second and third squads was small, so they only killed a few hundred enemies. The real show started when the fourth squad began to attack. Fireballs, Fire Arrows, Fire Spears, Fire Tornadoes... most dark elves had at least two of those spells. Still, only those who had the highest level on them were part of the fourth squad, which had around eight hundred members. So, it became clear that dark elves loved their fire too much. The monsters of the horde began to turn into charcoal. It was quite the scene, but Luke also helped them more than a little bit thanks to the bonuses of his skills. He couldn’t think that they were strong enough.

"It seems things are going well," Luke said.

"Such a weak response isn’t like you," Luke," Rina said. "Why don’t you say something stupid and goofy now?"

"Such as?" Luke asked.

"Such as: go my minions! Offer me the lives of your enemies and bath yourselves in their blood and entrails!" Rina said.

"I am quite bloodthirsty in your head, huh..." Luke frowned.

Luke focused his eyes on the battlefield again while watching the monsters being slaughtered without being able to scratch anyone. Still, the speed that the dark elves were using their mana was too high, so eventually, the horde managed to approach. When that happened, Luke gave them the order to retreat. The first test run had been a success...

Behind Luke, the dark elves were astonished to see their allies doing so much against so many enemies without getting a single scratch. Their power had increased, but not by that much. Their coordination was the real power there. As for Rina and Shalia, they were a bit worried since Luke wasn’t his usual self. They knew that Aivern’s words messed with him, but he was too prideful to admit that, and trying to tell him not to worry would only make him feel miserable.

"You guys did a good job. You caused a lot of damage to the horde without suffering any, but don’t get carried away," Luke said. "We will need to do this many times in order to completely annihilate them, but by the time we are done, we will have the strength to kick the asses of the overlords. Follow my lead, and your planet will be yours once again."

While that wasn’t his intention, Luke’s words raised the morale of the dark elves, and they even cheered loudly in excitement. They had never experienced a battle like that since the monster arrived, and when they did it, it was because they had the numerical advantage.

Luke couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction, but he did so when the others couldn’t see him after he checked his status. He leveled up ten times and gained one million going coins in that run. Not to mention, aside from one skill, his overlords’ skills leveled up a lot for a couple of minutes of battle. That was just too awesome... naturally, the pace would decrease now, but Luke was more than satisfied with the current progress.

"The only problem was the loot left behind, but you can’t have your cake and eat at the same time," Luke nodded to himself.

"I am not as bloodthirsty as Shalia, but even I am starting to feel bothered by the lack of battle," Rina said. "I feel like I am not doing anything."

Luke wasn’t feeling like that since I was earning experience, but that was different from Shalia and Rina. Regardless, Luke went to talk with Aivern about that. His response was even more depressing.

"Even though you are leveling up faster than them now, they will eventually catch up due to their talents," Aivern said. "While doing what you are doing isn’t a bad method to gain power, it has several limitations."

That was troublesome... In any case, to make sure that his weird habits won’t make his followers question his sanity, Luke bought a long cape from the shop. One that covered his entire body aside from his head. While everyone was busy preparing for the next fight, Luke put some poisonous bolts on his hand again. Once he reaches level ten with poison Resistance, he will go to the next element.

Even though they were close to him, Shalia and Rina didn’t notice his actions because they were too busy trying to contribute to the next battle without drawing too much attention. While watching the battlefield and seeing so many monsters dying, Shalia began to feel that there was something in the air... The mana that was leaving the bodies of the monsters... Little by little, she was making that mana move toward her and absorbing it.
