Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf
Chapter 304: For myself (7)
Since he was suffering a lot of damage lately, Luke wanted an armor that would reflect some damage back to the enemy. Still, he didn’t find anything like that. As expected, it wouldn’t be easy. While ignoring his strengths was a problem, Luke thought that following the law of the tank might help a little since he was facing so many stronger enemies than him lately. Reflecting some damage while healing himself might make things a little more even. However, the durability of the armor was also a problem... most armors wouldn’t endure the damage that his enemies could cause lately and he certainly won’t have time to repair them in the middle of a fight.
"It is quite crazy that I can’t find what I want when I have five million gold coins..." Luke thought while rubbing his chin.
Regardless, they had to prepare for the next battle, and the best way to do that was by making the dark elves fight as much as possible and making the overlord’s skills reach even higher levels. As of now, they have already reached level seven of the uncommon rank. Their powers were increasing quite fast. It was a pity that Luke couldn’t use them against the big and most troublesome enemies. They could only be used against small fries since they weren’t that bright. One couldn’t have everything...
"I can’t exactly force them to fight up close in order to level up the blessing of power since they have no aptitude toward it," Luke thought. "So, I guess I should learn the blessing of concentration and increase their focus."
Still, Luke noticed that a lot of his skills were about to reach level ten, so he had to prepare some upgrade crystals. He wanted to save gold coins until he could buy the armor that he wanted, but things probably won’t go that smoothly.
"So, I am planning to make the dark elves fight and clear the areas that have crystals and some hordes of monsters," Luke said. "What do you guys think?"
"Isn’t dividing our forces now rather dangerous?" Rina asked.
"Not really. Luke can just use the skeletons by using the corpses that were left on that battlefield," Shalia said. "We will get the numbers to compensate for that division."
"I believe she is talking about the possibility of the dark elves being attacked by the overlords the moment they leave the flying fortress," Nambra said.
Shalia saw the problem. Even if they were strong enough now to defeat some hordes, they weren’t to put up a good fight against overlords. They won’t be able to hold out for long enough for Luke and the others to arrive if they notice that something is off.
"It is all right, I will focus on increasing the speed of the flying fortress, and we won’t leave the dark elves in places too far away from us," Luke said. "There are plenty of places that they can fight around, after all."
Even if that was true, it wasn’t enough for the five thousand dark elves that decided to become his followers. Maybe only half of them would have that chance.

The new specs of the flying fortress permitted it to fly for 650 meters per second, and the people aboard couldn’t even feel that. So, they could reach any place within a sixty kilometers radius in just one minute and a half. Not only that, after using Search, Luke finally managed to find some worlds that had mana in them. The only issues were the fact that Earth wasn’t among them, and he had to use ten million points of mana to reach the closest one. He didn’t have the luxury to spend that much, nor did he have the reason to leave that world.
In any case, Luke began to work and move the dark elves to the areas that had the largest population of monsters and Crystals within a sixty kilometers radius. He told them not to destroy those weird Crystals that keep spawning monsters at a fixed rate for no reason. Those would help all of them to keep getting stronger as well as gain gold coins for Luke. However, it seemed that things wouldn’t be like before.

Since the difference in level between Luke and those monsters was too big now, they were granting him a lot less experience than usual. Now Luke could see what Aivern meant by the limitations of that way of doing things...
"I suppose this much is fine since they will grant me a passive income that I can use to upgrade my skills," Luke thought.
While Luke was thinking about that, he noticed that the relic that Aivern gave him and to his father was shining. Even though Mark likes to goof around when it is related to Luke, he wasn’t the type that would bother him when he was fighting so much in another world... At least without a good reason.
"We have found traces of Frank and his army. It seems that he had been moving around the world and forcing people to join his side. I have a feeling that he might be getting closer to us, so stay alert. We will probably need your help when the time comes."
Luke furrowed his eyebrows when he heard that message. Things never get dull around him, apparently. He only wished that so many lives were at stake with those events... In any case, Luke already could tell that a lot of troublesome situations were about to take place in his life.
