"Ah... This is disappointing," Aivern’s voice echoed in the area. "I was trying so hard to help you, but it seems that once again, you are thinking with your lower half. Truly disappointing."

"Where are you?" Luke asked. "Are you the one who put them to sleep? What is the meaning of this, Aivern?"

"Shut up... You bored me," Aivern said, and then he increased the gravity around Luke, burying his face on the floor of the flying fortress. "As you already imagined, I have been keeping secrets, but I was truly trying to help you since you have the potential... Or so I thought."

"The hell are you talking about, you said yourself that I lack potential when compared to Rina and Shalia," Luke said.

"That was something I said to stir you up," Aivern said and then suddenly appeared while he was floating in the air in the lotus position. "I need someone that has the potential to defeat all overlords and considering your accomplishments with only eight months of fighting experience, I thought you would be the right person, but was wrong once again."

It seemed that Aivern had lied about his goal... No, it was too soon to assume that. He said that his goal was to prevent the destruction of the universe, and some of the other things he said made sense or confirmed themselves.

"What is your goal? Why are you doing this?" Luke asked. "Are you afraid that I would end up with them and get lazy?"

"My goal is the same, to prevent the destruction of this universe, the others me failed in flinging someone that could help them, most of the things I said to you are true," Aivern replied. "While i am doing this because I assumed that you would make the wrong move now, it isn’t like I hate you or your decision. In fact, I am not even sure that you choose them over power. However, your indecision is a problem, so I will give you another push. Obtain the power to find me and then I will release everyone here, until then, they will be my prisoners. Don’t take your time and don’t make the wrong moves, or I will kill them all and head on the next run."

"Wait!" Luke said when he saw the space around him distorting.

In the next moment, Luke saw himself falling from the sky, he looked around, and he saw that he was back on Earth, so the son of a bitch teleported him back home... He lied when he said that he couldn’t use his skills on others.

Luke looked up, but he couldn’t see his flying fortress because of the atmosphere... He couldn’t fly either, and it was unlikely that Aivern would just wait for him so close. While clenching his teeth, Luke waited until he landed on the ground.

After a couple of minutes, Luke landed, and he realized that he was back in Miami. Quite the weird place to have another start considering that literally, everything started there. In any case, it didn’t take long for Luke to realize that the effects of his pact with the goals weren’t working anymore... Aivern sure had some tricks up his sleeve.

"That son of a bitch... I will kill him if he scratches them," Luke said and then punched the ground with all his might creating a crater of thirty meters in radius.

Luke took a deep breath to calm down and analyze the situation. The first thing that it was clear was Aivern was a crazy son of bitch that wanted to use Luke. He claimed that he wanted to save the universe, but Luke couldn’t tell if it was one hundred percent true. The second thing, he decided to do something drastic in order to make Luke despair and reach his true potential. It seemed that his knowledge about the multiverse was true, and Luke couldn’t become strong enough if he ended up making his relationship with the girls more serious. Why that was the case, it was impossible to tell... But most likely, it was due to his former laid-back nature. The one who sent that message via dream was probably Aivern... Without that message, he probably would have slept with Rina and Shalia at the first opportunity. Still, that was annoying as hell... Instead of hiding things and acting like that so suddenly, it would be better if he had told the whole truth to Luke in order to be more convincing. Because he knew that Aivern was hiding things, Luke never trusted him completely.

Regardless, Luke wouldn’t do as he says and go hunt the overlords just because Aivern wanted. He needed to find a way to get back to his flying fortress and find a way to banish Aivern from it since it didn’t seem like a good idea to face someone who could put hundreds of high-level people to sleep in a single moment.

"I can’t move between worlds without Rina and Shalia, so I need another flying fortress... Is the other one still around?" Luke thought.

Luke tried to use Checkpoint and return to that one, but the spell didn’t work. He was either too far away, or the fortress had been destroyed by Frank. Fortunately, Luke still had three million coins left after defeating the other overlords. So, he could buy another red crystal, and so he did it.

All his gear aside from the one he was currently carrying with him was on that flying fortress, so even though they were pretty useful, the weapons of the Overlords won’t help Luke. Not even their bodies which he had turned into death knights.

After creating a new flying fortress using the ruins of Miami, Luke went to look for some monsters to tame. In the end, he found some starving wolves, goblins, and dark crows. Luke was lucky that he didn’t fill those spots after leveling up the skills...
