Talent Awakening: Rise Of The Underestimated All-Profession Awakener!
Chapter 65: Sustaining Damages
Absolute Regeneration.
It appeared that that was North’s Talent, and she hadn’t hidden it from them for even a second. Maybe it was because she needed to get her arm back... Maybe not.
But however it was, Roman and Rena had just witnessed one of the most powerful talents possible.
One moment she was harmless and helpless, and the next moment, she had slain the monster that had attacked her and had gotten her left arm back.
How incredible was that???
[You have killed a Level 34 Epic Monster, Black Humanoid Toad. +30000 EXP gained.]
That was what North saw on her BSP screen as she ignored it immediately.
[Rank: S.]
[Level: 7 (112500/500000).]
There was still quite a long way to go before she would level up, and killing a Giant Humanoid Toad was already no big deal for her at all.
She stood up, feeling the amazed eyes from Rena especially, and well, she noticed that Roman was only trying not to feel impressed too much.
"Absolute Regeneration is my Talent. I’m able to fix any damage and injury I sustain in a fight, as well as that of other people, of course. The only thing I can’t do is resurrect myself if I die," North said.
"That’s an incredible Talent. What rank are you? An S ranker?" Rena asked.
"Yeah, correct," North responded.
"That’s... Pretty high."
She gave Rena a pat on her shoulder.
"I have been in the Badlands for a couple of years. If you can work hard, you can get to this height too. It only takes... Commitment," she turned to Roman upon saying the last line.
Roman already knew about her rank, but although he hadn’t known about her Talent and even her Profession. So that was why he was awed by what he had just seen.
The monster had disappeared, and Roman once had the urge to collect its soul, but then remembered that he couldn’t get the souls of monsters he didn’t kill.
That was one of the restricted terms of the Infinite Dominion System, and when he realised that, he couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
This led to him deciding that if he would have to gain something from a mission, he would have to be the one to deliver the final hit to slay any monster, and that could give him a chance to get a very powerful soul.
Imagine obtaining the soul of an Epic Monster?
Just a mere Ordinary Monster was already able to cause great damage and disturbance to many. An Epic Soul Servant would be something he would really be excited to get!
"Sorry for that. That’s not why we are here. The Giant Humanoid Toad just wanted attention, and well, I gave it to it," North began.
"We are heading east of the forest, where I have suspected the presence of a Four-headed Iron Godzilla. It should be at its late levels on the Epic rank, or it might have reached the Alpha rank. Have it in mind that such a monster isn’t one you’d want to mess with. Any tiny mistake, and you are screwed. Got it?"
Both Roman and Rena nodded, and they followed North from behind as she moved.
"Saying that that giant beast only wanted attention is crazy. But anyway, good lines," Roman had walked up to her and said, and North smiled slightly.
They continued as they walked into Terror Lake, arriving at the eastern region where they had noticed nothing at first. It would always look like it was scanty at first, until a certain monster dashed out from nowhere.
That term "terror" wasn’t only used because of the lake, it was because of what surrounded it.
The lake is the lake... The woods are the Terror.
This was what Roman had learned in the BSP while walking through the long pattern of shrubs. He had spent time researching about this place and what veterans had experienced in such a place.
They listed top Entrants who visited the lake frequently, and to his satisfaction, the Mayor of Strength City was already listed.
This meant that North might have been capitalising on this place as her niche, and it really had been a successful routine for her.
If it wasn’t, then maybe she wouldn’t be where she was today.
She’s one of the richest, strongest, and most famous Entrants in the Center and even in the Reach at large. That wasn’t something that should be overlooked.
She was already a top figure.
A Mayor, and as well, the admin of a Platinum Group Chat.
Roman would have started raining questions on her about why they accepted him into the group chat, and why they respected the fact that he was an F ranker with a Fourth Class AS as well.
It was a certain curiosity that Roman had been having to deal with, and just when he was finally getting the chance...
His girlfriend had shown up.
First and foremost, Roman already knew that Rena was not supposed to be a member of the group. If she could really be, then she would have received the invitation, right?
And well, if she could still actually have a chance, perhaps North could have told her when they were inside the runner on their way here.
Roman just didn’t think she could be a part of it.
...
After over thirty minutes of walking, they reached a spot where they started to hear chittering sounds.
North ordered them to halt, forming the exact same formation they had practiced back at the entrance.
This time, no one wanted to be careless, because you wouldn’t want to risk being attacked by the Four-headed Iron Godzilla that was capable of killing with a single strike.
That way, it would be considered total death, because even Absolute Regeneration wouldn’t be able to save them.
BAAAM!
BAAAM!
BAAAM!
The gigantic footsteps rose from ahead, and they soon turned, readying themselves.
Roman already had Queenfang in his hand, and Rena with her shiny dagger was ready to use Phantom Shift.
As for the Mayor, she was just standing calmly with her sword still stuck to her belt, like she wasn’t ready to fight at all.
And when the Four-headed Iron Godzilla finally showed up...
Rena had been the one to make the first, perhaps stupid, move, and she quickly charged at the monster.
However, the moment she was about to land a strike, what looked like a giant metal hammer came hitting her from behind, and Rena was sent flying several metres away, crashing into a shrub.
CRAAAAASH!
[500 Damages Sustained!]
[200 damages have been channeled to Strength.]
[300 damages have been channeled to Energy.]
[Both values have been multiplied by a hundred.]
[Strength: 20000.]
[Energy: 30000.]
"ARGHH...! Yeah," Rena gasped.
