Ten Thousand Dragons Technique
Chapter 673 - 672: Even the Elders Misjudged!
With Jin Ze taking credit for the heaven and earth phenomenon, the other disciples burst into a flurry of discussion.
"I knew it! The one who caused the phenomenon had to be Jin Ze."
"Only he could have evolved into a quasi-Saint Body."
"And that Lin Xuan actually thought he could become one? What a joke. Is he even worthy?"
"He’s just a Dragon Warrior with no future. He can forget about becoming a quasi-Saint Body in this lifetime."
"That kid is all talk, claiming to have a quasi-Saint Body. How ridiculous."
"A bunch of frogs in a well, blind as bats," Lin Xuan snorted coldly.
His words instantly enraged everyone. "What did you say?"
The new students rolled their eyes, and the senior students gritted their teeth. This guy is way too arrogant.
A dissatisfied senior student spoke up. "There are many core elders present, and none of them think highly of you. Are you saying they’re blind, too?"
Lin Xuan simply nodded.
An uproar swept through the crowd. This guy was insane, daring to call the elders blind.
The elders themselves were furious, each one gritting his teeth. I really want to teach this kid a lesson!
However, the Vice Dean stopped them. Shaking his head, he said, "Let it go. Don’t lower yourselves to the level of a new disciple."
"Hmph! For the Vice Dean’s sake, I will let it slide this time," one elder declared.
"But if it happens again, I won’t be so lenient."
The elders snorted coldly and turned their attention away from Lin Xuan, focusing instead on Jin Ze. They all began vying to take him on as their disciple.
Ultimately, Jin Ze chose to study under Elder Lei. This Elder Lei was incredibly powerful and specialized in Thunder Skills. Jin Ze wanted to cultivate Thunder Skills to unleash the greatest potential of his Golden Thunder Body.
Elder Lei laughed heartily. "Good disciple! Follow me, and you will surely soar to great heights in the future."
"Greetings, Master," Jin Ze said, bowing respectfully.
The surrounding elders sighed in unison. Damn it, that old eccentric Lei beat us to it.
That old eccentric Lei is so lucky, getting a top genius as his disciple. This little guy will probably become a true Saint Body in the future. The elders shook their heads and sighed, while the other disciples watched with extreme envy.
Five days passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, the new students of the Sacred Institute were buzzing with excitement. The New Student Tournament was about to begin.
The top ten finalists would all receive points as a reward. The first-place winner, in particular, would receive a direct reward of 5,000 points. For the newcomers, this was an astronomical sum.
"Sigh, I have no chance at first place; that’s definitely going to Jin Ze. But I have to fight for the top three."
"Exactly. Jin Ze is guaranteed to be number one. We can’t beat him, but we can still compete for a spot in the top ten."
"Even tenth place gets 1,000 points!"
The new disciples discussed animatedly. This tournament was incredibly important to them. For one, they could earn points. Furthermore, a strong performance could immediately catch the attention of the elders. Perhaps they, too, would have the chance to be accepted as a Direct Disciple.
Jin Ze also arrived, striding in with an air of confidence.
"It’s Jin Ze!" Many new students greeted him with immense respect. Although Jin Ze was also a new student, he was already a Direct Disciple, a status that placed him far above them.
Jin Ze gave a slight, proud nod, standing apart from the crowd. Having become an elder’s disciple, he no longer saw the other newcomers as his peers. In his mind, the title of Rookie King was already his.
Firstly, his strength was formidable, with his current combat power at the level of Two-Star Invincible. On top of that, Elder Lei had given him a welcoming gift: a Thunder Spirit. This so-called Thunder Spirit was the Demon Soul of a Thunder Beast—specifically, a Thunder Crane. It possessed immense power. Once Jin Ze activated the Thunder Spirit and combined it with his Physique, his strength would soar, temporarily reaching the level of a Three-Star Grandmaster.
With such a trump card, who could possibly be my match?
He had even made specific inquiries. The Thunder Spirit was exceedingly terrifying; only the souls of legendary Divine Beasts could suppress it. Such Divine Beasts included those with a Dragon Soul, Phoenix Soul, Kirin Soul, or Vermilion Bird Soul. These were things of legend. Forget the new students; even the elders of the Sacred Institute didn’t possess them. Therefore, no one could suppress his Thunder Spirit.
At this thought, a smile touched the corners of Jin Ze’s lips.
Just then, the surrounding disciples exclaimed, "Look! It’s Lin Xuan!"
"He actually dared to show up? I thought he wouldn’t have the guts to participate."
"He’s just a measly Four-Star Grandmaster. What right does he have to attend the New Student Tournament?"
"He only got into the Sacred Institute because he was lucky enough to get a Celestial Order."
"Without that Celestial Order, there’s no way he could have joined."
"That’s for sure. With a cultivation as weak as a Four-Star Grandmaster, he probably couldn’t even pass the entrance exam."
"If I were him, I’d skip the tournament. After all, participating just means coming in last place."
"How humiliating."
"He’d be better off finding a corner to hide in."
The crowd continued their cold jeers.
Jin Ze’s gaze locked onto Lin Xuan, a chilling light glinting in his eyes. He spoke in a cold voice, "Brat, you still dare to come."
"Hmph! During the tournament, I will publicly crush you under my foot and make you lick my shoes."
The memory of this kid daring to tell him to lick the steps still infuriated him. He was determined to repay that humiliation with a vengeance, and this New Student Tournament was the perfect opportunity.
The people nearby gasped.
"Damn, Lin Xuan is doomed. He’s been targeted by Jin Ze."
"He’s dead for sure."
"Is he really going to have to lick Jin Ze’s shoes in public?"
"If that happens, his reputation will be utterly ruined."
"I bet he’ll become the biggest laughingstock in the Sacred Institute."
The crowd shook their heads and sighed.
A few others approached Lin Xuan. "You should leave, Lin Xuan. Don’t participate in the tournament."
"Yeah, hurry up and go. We’re saying this for your own good."
But Lin Xuan just shook his head. "Why should I leave? I must participate in the New Student Tournament. I’m going to become the Rookie King."
What?
Hearing this, the surrounding new students were stunned.
"You want to be the Rookie King?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"You must be crazy!"
"The Rookie King is the number one newcomer! You, a mere Four-Star Grandmaster, think you can take first place?"
"Keep dreaming!"
"Is this guy still asleep?"
The new students rolled their eyes in disbelief.
Jin Ze burst out laughing. "You, number one? Who the hell do you think you are? You think you’re worthy of being the Rookie King?" he said dismissively. "Believe it or not, I could kill you with a single finger."
Lin Xuan glanced at him and replied calmly, "You? I’m afraid you don’t have the skill for that."
"What did you say?" Jin Ze was enraged. "You dare to underestimate me?"
He took a step forward, his power exploding from his body. The surrounding newcomers scrambled backward.
"Heavens, he’s so strong!"
"Jin Ze is almost at the Two-Star Invincible level!"
"No wonder he became a Direct Disciple! His strength is truly heaven-defying!"
Jin Ze said smugly, "You see that, kid? I’m Two-Star Invincible. What do you have to fight me with?"
Lin Xuan said dismissively, "Is being Two-Star Invincible that impressive?"
The disciples around them were completely bewildered.
"What is this guy talking about?"
"He’s actually looking down on Jin Ze!"
"Where does he get this courage?"
Jin Ze snorted coldly. "You’re not even a One-Star Grandmaster, yet you dare look down on a Two-Star Grandmaster? I see you really have a death wish!"
Lin Xuan, however, replied flatly, "Although I am not a One-Star Grandmaster, my combat power is equivalent to a Three-Star Grandmaster. A mere Two-Star Grandmaster? I truly don’t see you as a threat."
