Ten Thousand Soul Banner: Deceased, do you have any unfulfilled wishes?
Chapter 1234 - 1230: Treasures Falling from the Sky
Ruan Hongzhuang left the two little ones with Shen Siyuan.
"You should manage these two and stop them from fussing around."
After speaking, she handed the jewel, glowing with a radiant white light, to Shen Siyuan.
Even though she had seen countless treasures, she’s never encountered such a large and lustrous jewel. However, she’s not in the habit of snatching things from kids.
Once Shen Siyuan received the jewel, Dou Dou and Tang Tang immediately rushed up to grab it.
"Don’t grab, don’t grab..."
Clearly, the two little ones weren’t afraid of Shen Siyuan at all.
Tang Tang, seeing he wouldn’t give it to her, immediately opened her mouth as if to bite. Of course, she wasn’t really biting; she was just making little "oh oh" sounds with her head tilted back, pretending to be fierce. It resulted in Shen Siyuan’s hands being covered with saliva.
Dou Dou, meanwhile, poked Shen Siyuan’s waist with her little fingers, wriggling non-stop, saying, "I’ll tickle you."
Watching Shen Siyuan play around with the two kids without any dignity, Ruan Hongzhuang sighed and subconsciously touched her lower abdomen.
She had been with Shen Siyuan without using any contraception, yet why couldn’t she get pregnant even after so long?
Just then, a hand suddenly reached out from beside her, touching her lower abdomen, startling her. She turned her head to see that it was none other than Taozi.
Annoyed, Ruan Hongzhuang reached out to slap her lightly, saying, "What are you doing?"
"Your belly is not cooperating, watch me."
Taozi said this, took a deep breath, and puffed up her belly.
Ruan Hongzhuang was so amused by her that she laughed.
"Is this about whether I try hard or not?"
With that, she slapped Taozi’s belly, deflated the bulge.
"Stop focusing on me, you should work harder too."
"Eh, he always gives to you, and nothing is left for me," Taozi frowned, looking troubled.
Ruan Hongzhuang’s cheeks flushed instantly, and she grabbed Taozi’s ear, "What nonsense are you talking about."
Then she dragged her back inside the house.
On the other side, Dou Dou eventually managed to get the jewel back.
She dared not show it off and immediately hid it after grabbing it.
Tang Tang, unwilling to give up, kept searching through Dou Dou’s clothes, making her itch and wriggle like a caterpillar.
In the end, she almost pulled down Dou Dou’s little pants, but still couldn’t find it, only then did she give up.
However, this didn’t mean she was satisfied. She muttered under her breath a couple of times, which no one could understand.
After breakfast, mom took her out shopping, taking a walk at the same time.
Children shouldn’t always stay at home; now it’s become part of Tang Tang’s daily routine.
Raising children is actually no different from raising pets, they also need daily walks.
Mao Sanmei pushed the little stroller out the door, Tang Tang sat obediently inside, her little legs swinging back and forth, holding half a rice cake she hadn’t finished eating, her cheeks bulging like a small hamster stocking up food.
The morning market was bustling, with shouts, bargaining, and the sound from the seafood stalls mixed together. It was noisy but also lively with the spirit of everyday life.
Tang Tang instantly perked up, her little head looking around, her eyes round and wide. Seeing the bright red strawberries, she pointed, mouth chanting "han~han," looking very greedy.
Mao Sanmei noticed, knowing there’s no reason not to buy it for her.
She went straight ahead to purchase a box from the seller and then went to a nearby faucet to wash a few for her. The little one hummed in delight as she ate.
After buying a basket full of groceries, Mao Sanmei steered the stroller into the small park next door.
The morning dew hadn’t dried yet, and the salty sea breeze carried a hint of grass scent, as several elderly people practised Tai Chi and took walks.
Tang Tang couldn’t sit still anymore, stretching her arms wanting to walk.
Mao Sanmei lifted her out, holding her little hand as they walked slowly along the path.
As for her other hand, she was holding the cuttlefish cake mom had bought for her, munching away, leaving oil stains all over her little face.
The bib on her chest was even dirtier, looking like a wild child found from a garbage bin.
Mao Sanmei knew she shouldn’t let her eat too much oily food. So as they passed by the park restroom, she went inside and washed a few more strawberries for her.
Then she led Tang Tang to a long bench by the park’s lake to sit down.
The little one couldn’t reach the bench with her short legs, so Mao Sanmei lifted her to sit on it.
Then took off her bib and vigorously wiped her oily little face, putting on a fresh one.
Having spent enough time with her, Mao Sanmei had learned, besides wet wipes, to also bring a few extra bibs every time they went out.
This little one was peculiar, unlike other kids whose chin would get chapped and inflamed due to excessive drooling, she never showed such symptoms, very hardy indeed.
Tang Tang leaned against the bench, gazing at the shimmering lake surface, enjoying the breeze and the strawberries, feeling utterly comfortable.
At that moment, several water birds skimmed across the lake, creating ripples, which made Tang Tang promptly kick her little legs.
She raised a strawberry high.
"Oh~oh..."
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it seemed as if the water birds heard a command, as they quickly flew toward her.
Mao Sanmei was startled, ready to stop her actions and protect her, but one bird already swooped down like lightning and snatched away the strawberry from Tang Tang’s hand.
"Hai~"
Tang Tang kicked her little feet joyfully and again picked up another strawberry to hold up.
Seeing her daughter unharmed, Mao Sanmei relaxed.
Then the majority of the strawberries Mao Sanmei bought ended up being fed to the water birds.
Mao Sanmei felt a bit heartache; after all, strawberries had just hit the market, and they’re not cheap. Having lived through tough times, she actually felt the pinch of spending.
Yet, upon seeing her daughter’s smiling face, all seemed worth it.
When the birds dispersed, she noticed it was getting late, so she stood up and "ah ah" gestured to Tang Tang indicating it was time to go.
"Oh~"
Tang Tang nodded obediently and was about to slide down from the bench.
Mao Sanmei wanted to help but was brushed aside by Tang Tang’s little hands, as she insisted on doing it herself.
Feeling helpless, Mao Sanmei watched closely, worried she might fall off the bench.
Just then, a bird’s cry echoed in the air.
Mao Sanmei and Tang Tang looked up to see the flock of birds returning.
They flew above Tang Tang, and suddenly, things fell like raindrops.
Mao Sanmei panicked, ready to shield Tang Tang, but saw that Tang Tang wasn’t worried at all and happily stretched out her little hands.
Then a water bird fluttered down and looped a pearl necklace around her wrist.
The pearls on the necklace were large and round.
The pearls were radiantly white and smooth, each one full and dazzling in the morning light, clearly not ordinary items.
Mao Sanmei took a closer look and saw what fell were not bird droppings, but various exotic treasures.
Colorful corals, shiny gold necklaces, gem-encrusted rings, and even a sparkling blue gemstone...
Even knowing her daughter was extraordinary, Mao Sanmei was momentarily stunned, only snapping out of it when she saw her daughter clutching the pearl, beaming in the sunlight.
Quickly she glanced around, relieved that there were few people by the lake and that this flock of birds hadn’t drawn much attention.
She hurriedly bent down to gather all the items.
"Oh~hai..."
Tang Tang raised her head, waved at the sky, and the birds swirling above all flew away in one swoop.
Tang Tang was delighted, putting the pearl necklace around her neck, swaying back and forth, laughing heartily, hands on her hips, extremely proud.
"Back home."
In her happiness, she managed to say two words distinctly.
