The Angelic System That Turned My Life Into Hell
Chapter 225: Rivaling an A-Rank’s Strength
"!"
Lonotta could not catch a break as Ophelia raised her foot.
Because she was still on the ground, Lonotta rolled away when Ophelia stomped her foot. Ophelia used so much power that her foot was now stuck in the destroyed floor.
"Shit! I need more power!" Lonotta groaned.
Spreading her wings, she was about to fly away with the intention of strengthening herself even more by killing more people.
"..."
However, Ophelia was one step ahead of her.
"?!"
Lonotta frantically twisted her neck to Ophelia who grabbed her leg.
"Ugh!"
Ophelia slammed Lonotta to the ground.
"You bitch!"
Then, Lonotta freed herself from Ophelia’s grip and headbutted her.
And while Ophelia was stumbling backward, Lonotta punched her in the face, sending her flying to the other end of the hall.
"Ptu."
Ophelia quickly got on her feet again. Seemingly unfazed, she just spat some blood on the ground and wiped her mouth.
"..."
Lonotta turned more nervous as she sensed her power slightly decreasing. Usually, she would go and replenish her strength but she was stuck with Ophelia who would not let her escape.
Suddenly, Ophelia was in her range again. She launched a wild punch from beneath, aiming at Lonotta’s chin.
"Uff!"
Lonotta dodged the attack barely, however, Ophelia had something else in her sleeve.
"!"
Ophelia’s fist opened up and grabbed Lonotta’s head. Then, kicking her knee up, she rammed Lonotta’s head into her knee.
"Argh...!"
Lonotta’s back bent backward as she was about to fall. But she gritted her teeth, trying her best to not lose her consciousness.
Instinctively, Lonotta punched Ophelia multiple times but with each punch she noticed her strength fading.
Still, her punches were heavy and should have knocked Ophelia out but to her surprise, Ophelia was still standing.
Lonotta was dumbfounded.
"You mon-"
With a void expression, Ophelia landed a heavy punch in Lonotta’s face which broke and distorted.
Lonotta immediately fell on her back.
On the ground, Lonotta uttered some inaudible noise while sounding as if she was on the verge of death.
She tried to crawl her way up to Ophelia who was ready to deliver the finishing blow.
However, that finisher was not needed as Ophelia’s relic activated, causing Lonotta to feel the same impact on the same spot.
Following that, it was silent in the hall.
Lonotta was dead.
"..."
Ophelia’s expression changed. Her eyes immediately narrowed as her fatigue kicked in.
"Maybe I will get some rest first..." she muttered with a weak smile, lying down beside Lonotta’s corpse.
In the meantime, the fight between Brol and the duo of Lily and Lisa heated up.
With a huge grin on his face, Brol swung his saber sword wildly. And because of the force he swung his sword with, strong wind, was caused, hindering Lily and Lisa’s movements.
"If it wasn’t for his eyes, I would have mistaken him for a wind mage...!" Lisa remarked with a wry smile, putting up her arms in front of her face.
Lily, in turn, looked like she was in thought.
"I will create an opening. Can you attract his attention afterward for a little?" Lily said.
"Huh?"
But before she could voice out her opinion, Lily already disappeared.
Lisa could only sigh.
Meanwhile, Brol continued his ferocious swings.
But his back was wide open.
Lily noticed that and stealthily got behind him.
"?"
Brol sensed her just in time and before Lily could launch an attack, Brol sent her away with large icicles sprouting from the ground.
However, Brol instantly turned around again.
There was Lisa who thrust her rapier forward.
Her rapier scratched his cheek but that was it.
"Ack!"
He formed a fist and hammered it down on Lisa.
After that, he attempted to strike her with his sword but Lisa quickly distanced herself from him despite her head still ringing from the punch.
For Lisa, this was the moment she had to fight back, after all, it was now up to her to stall time for Lily.
Thus, she gripped her rapier tightly and dashed towards Brol who pulled out his sword from the ground.
Applying lightning magic on her body and weapon, Lisa’s speed increased. Without any regard for her surroundings and her defense, she launched a barrage of thrusts.
"..."
Sternly, Brol tried to block them with his sword but because of her enhanced speed, it was impossible.
More and more wounds appeared on his body.
Only when swung his sword Lisa would jump away.
On the floor and on his blade a cold fog was visible.
"Impressive skills for a young girl but I sadly have to end this now." he stated.
"..."
Lisa took some deep breaths as she applied more lightning to her rapier.
Then, both of them launched a thrust.
Those, who were in the vicinity, screamed and were blown away by the impact of Lisa and Brol clashing.
And because they launched magic attacks it was too bright for a moment.
When the light dispersed, Lisa was seen getting sent away with bruises all over body.
Still, she was conscious so Brol was about to finish her for good.
"!"
Suddenly, Lily appeared again.
Her two fire creatures, which floated above her, were absorbed into her hands where she was already gathering flames.
It was a technique she used in the Unnatural Dungeon. But this time, there were not enough creatures to launch an attack of a similar scale.
Nonetheless, she was currently charging up a great flame.
"..."
Brol realized that it was too late to dodge as Lily was right in his face.
He closed his eyes as it turned brighter.
A large explosion occurred there which was visible even from outside of Youra.
And yet, Brol stood there, supporting his body with his saber.
His body was burnt and smoke emitted from his body.
"..."
Lily gritted her teeth.
She was completely exhausted and could barely stand on her feet after using up all her magic. Despite that, she smiled confidently.
Pale blue light shone beneath Brol’s feet and a cold wind engulfed his body as he raised his sword.
"It’s up to you now, Lisa..." Lily muttered before closing her eyes and falling down.
"..."
Brol did not realize that Lily was down. He focused all his senses on his strike.
But that led to him neglecting his back.
"...?"
Slowly, he turned his neck but it was too late.
Lisa was behind him and was done charging up her magic.
"Like you, I will give this attack my everything, Lily..." Lisa stated determinedly.
Brol was engulfed in bright lightning.
After the lightning disappeared, an unconscious Brol was left behind.
He was still standing but his body was even more burnt than previously.
"..."
Lisa fell to her knees and breathed raggedly. From below, she looked up at Brol.
His body finally fell down.
"What was that?" Elsa, who was in Youra’s eastern district, wondered.
Lisa’s lightning attack pierced the clouds, catching many people’s attention just like Lily’s explosion.
"Those people are really going at it, huh?" Dura snickered.
Currently, Elsa was facing off against Dura, a fellow Grand Order member, after saving Harik and Rachel.
And even though those two were colleagues, there was a difference in strength due to many factors like age and talent. If one would learn about this match, then they would most likely bet on Elsa to win.
However, Elsa was bleeding from multiple spots on her body. She was not fatally injured but she was clearly at a disadvantage while Dura seemed fine.
"Are you perhaps holding back?" Dura asked.
"Does it look like that to you, Ms. Waret?" Elsa said with a mocking smile on her face.
Her breathing was unstable and if she would not treat her wounds soon, it could be fatal for Elsa.
"Ms. Waret, huh...?" Dura muttered with a disappointed expression.
"Sorry, a habit of mine, Grandma. I tend to keep it professional when I work. But as this is a personal matter, I guess I can turn off my work mode." Elsa replied, taking up her fighting stance again.
"..."
Dura stared at the shaking fists of her granddaughter.
"People call you humanity’s number two. And here you are, shaking in your boots while fighting an old hag." Dura remarked sharply. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Heh, how I wished it was just some old hag." Elsa huffed quietly under her breath.
Since Harik and Rachel escaped from there, Elsa did not touch Dura even once. It was not because she could not, rather it was because she did not want to.
No matter what people call her or how strong and tough she was, she could not bear raising her fist against her own grandmother who raised her on her own after Elsa lost her parents at a young age.
"..."
Dura sighed as she shot water spears at her.
But those spears were instantly frozen once they were in Elsa’s reach and shattered quickly afterward.
"Where is all your confidence and bravado now? I thought you came here to beat me."
"..."
Elsa did not reply.
Ice walls emerged right around Dura, caging her inside.
"Please, just give in, Grandma." Elsa begged softly.
