Chapter 228: Mika Versus Vira

"Now, it’s my turn to do my job." Mika stated as he looked up at the roof where he sensed Vira’s presence.

[2 minutes and 26 seconds left.]

Mika disappeared from the spot.

[14 teleportations left.]

"Hm?"

Vira, who was watching the fights from the academy’s roof leisurely, lifted her face. Above her, Mika who retracted his arm, was flying with his wings.

As he threw the Holy Spear at Vira, it increased its size instantly, piercing the building’s lower floors.

"What happened...?" Mika wondered with a frown.

Unlike most enemies, Vira remained calm and just smirked.

The spear should have hit her, however, it appeared like the spear’s trajectory was changed or rather, it looked like the spear was pushed down, destroying the lower floors.

"Nice try, brat. But something like that won’t work against me!" Vira stated confidently as she flew over to Mika.

Mika switched to Excalibur and charged at her without hesitation.

"!"

However, before he could get even close to her, he was forcefully slammed to the ground.

"Keh...!" he groaned as he tried to lift his head from the ground.

The pressure on his whole body was still too great, making it difficult for him to actually lift his head.

His body slowly got stuck in the ground, leaving behind a print of his body there.

"Mika?"

Surprised, Sylvia called him out as he coincidentally landed near her and Arnold who was entrapped in ice.

She was about to rush over to him but it was at that moment when she sensed Vira coming down.

"What’s the meaning of this, Arnold? I remember that we established a contract. So how could you lose against that child?" Vira remarked scornfully.

Arnold kept quiet.

"Contract...?" Sylvia muttered baffled.

Vira looked over to the two.

"Ugh!"

Sylvia was also pressed to the ground by a heavy force just like Arnold after the ice shattered from the pressure.

"Hrngh!" Mika groaned vigorously as he tried to get up.

His arms were shaking while he pushed himself off the ground.

"It’s useless. No one can fight against my gravity." Vira stated amused.

Mika’s arms gave in and he buried his face in the ground as a result.

[13 teleportations left.]

"Oh~?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Mika appeared in front of her and swung Excalibur but Vira dodged.

After that, he ended once more in the ground, fighting against the heavy pressure.

"So you can teleport yourself, huh?" Vira huffed.

[So she finally found out, huh?]

It may have not been entirely his own efforts but after the death of the semi-transcendental being on the lowest floor of the Unnatural Dungeon, Mika was rewarded with the fifth installment. That installment granted him the ability to teleport 16 times in a certain radius.

Furthermore, just like the time he was granted the ability to manipulate time, Mika was granted an additional effect. When he received the time ability, he was also able to transform up to three times into his strongest form even though it was from the future.

Now, he was able to teleport himself up to three times from anywhere to places he went to often or already spent a lot of time.

"Your teleporting ability could be troubling against my gravity-controlling ability." she sighed.

Mika teleported right above her head with his hands up.

[12 teleportations left.]

Two-handedly, he attempted to cut her down.

"Just kidding."

"?!"

But instead of falling down, he was levitated further in the air.

"I can also flip gravity, you know?" she stated with a smirk.

She took a step back and pointed her finger to the ground.

"Argh!"

In the brink of a second, Mika was pressed into the floor again.

"What? Are you trying to teleport right above or in front of me again? Even if you’d appear behind me, it would be useless." Vira said, noticing the slightest movements of Mika.

[1 minute and 39 seconds left.]

However, Mika did not intend to use the teleportation ability. He had another ace up his sleeves. Now, that he knew what kind of ability she had, he formulated a strategy.

"!"

Vira widened her eyes as her body was bent forward.

She looked at her left shoulder where she spotted a hole.

"You little..." she murmured menacingly with eyes that were filled with bloodlust.

From above, an arrow out of light pierced her shoulder. It was not because she was careless but rather because she did not expect Mika to be able to use light like angels did.

Due to their first meeting in the Unnatural Dungeon, she concluded that Mika was a human who somehow managed to wield heavenly relics. It should have been obvious to her but she dismissed the possibility of him using light.

And just like when a demon or monster got hit by Excalibur, the inflicted pain would be multiplied if hit by light.

[Starting Time Manipulation.]

"Ack!"

Getting shot distracted her, leading to her forgetting about the others for a short moment. And that in turn, led to Mika taking the initiative and slashing Vira diagonally across her upper body with Excalibur.

Stacked with the time-manipulating ability, Vira barely missed the chance to defend herself.

Still, her body reacted instinctively and moved to the back, avoiding a lethal wound.

"Tch-"

As he clicked his tongue, Mika was pressed down.

"Get away from here!" Mika shouted while getting further pushed into the ground.

"..."

Vira sharply glanced over to Sylvia and Arnold who also got up.

However, Vira let them be as she knew that those two would neither have the courage nor the power to attack her. And as a part of the North, the two understood that they should not fight a fight they would be sure to lose.

Thus, Arnold and Sylvia reluctantly retreated for the time being.

Therefore, the stage was cleared for Vira and Mika to go all out without worrying about others. Even the fights in the vicinity of the academy partly began to stop as their curious and nervous eyes wandered to Mika and Vira.

[Time Manipulation ended.]

[1 minute and 23 seconds left.]

"..."

While biting her lips, Vira grabbed her wound tightly.

"Now you’ve done it...!" she said agitated and threatening.

Following those words, Mika strangely did not feel any pressure anymore and therefore, got up on his feet.

"..."

Cautiously, he looked at Vira.

Then, Mika aimed a barrage of arrows out of light at her.

But this time, she dodged them effortlessly.

[11 teleportations left.]

Mika appeared behind Vira and swung Excalibur once more.

"!"

Before it could hit her, Vira grabbed Mika’s neck and raised him up as if he was nothing.

"As much as I want to kill you right here and now, it would be a greater waste than killing Dugea back then." Vira stated sternly.

"...!"

Mika was trying to free himself.

"Now be a good boy and stay low for the time being."

She let go of him and as he fell down his body felt heavier and heavier.

And then, he heard a crack coming from his body.

Using her ability to control gravity, Vira put more pressure on Mika and when he was about to get pressed into the ground again, she launched a vertical kick to his face, causing a crack in his neck.

[1 minute and 11 seconds left.]

The halo above Mika’s head disappeared. And neither did his body move.

Mika was unconscious.

"..."

Vira stared apathetically at the motionless body of Mika.

"Hngh!"

She did not need to turn around to notice Ophelia who was attempting to ambush her.

Without moving a finger, Ophelia was slammed to the ground.

"You were the one who was able to kill Lonotta, right?" Vira asked.

She threw a quick glance at the now-destroyed academy.

"Must have escaped before the building collapsed." she muttered slightly impressed.

"Argh!"

Vira raised her body by pulling on Ophelia’s hair.

"No wonder you’ve beat her. You have the Rostanta blood in you. Still, I thought that I’d told you all to listen to my commands once you’ve arrived in Youra. And yet, you have decided to betray me."

"..."

Ophelia did not say anything back as she tried to get rid of Vira’s hand.

"Usually, I would have killed all of you on the spot but some of you may prove to be useful to me after some discipline." Vira declared with a grin.

The moment Vira sensed lightning she let go of Ophelia and increased the pressure on her.

Vira turned her back on Ophelia, ignoring her agonizing scream and the sound of the ground crumbling.

Instead, she focused on Mika who obviously did not move.

"Tch."

Vexedly, she ruffled her hair. Even though she rendered him unconscious, she could not shake off the strange feeling she had for a while.

One part of her told her to use him for the hunt for Leviathan but her other part commanded her to kill him right now.

As if her body did not listen to her, she reached out to his neck and wrapped her fingers around it before tightening the grip.

Her instincts were telling her to kill him.
