The Angelic System That Turned My Life Into Hell
Chapter 65: Mika Versus Yater - Conclusion
"20 seconds? 20 seconds will be enough." Mika stated.
Yater got up from the ground.
"Heh, that was a good punch..." he admitted as he rubbed his mouth against his forearm.
Then, closed the gap between him and Mika. He began to launch multiple punches, which Mika was able to block off.
"Is blocking everything you can do? Come on, why won’t you attack me again with one of your holy relics?" Yater provoked him.
Mika’s physical attributes may have risen since the third installment, nonetheless, he still took damage.
When Yater continued his barrage of attacks, Mika jumped backward and stretched his hand out to him.
At that moment, a few arrows out of light were shot down from above.
"Ha, those puny things won’t even scratch me!" he huffed after dodging them effortlessly.
[As it is just the third installment, the proficiency for Holy Light will be adjusted to your current lightning magic rank.]
"I see, so it’s a B-rank for now, huh? Whatever, it just served as a distraction."
Mika looked into the sky and muttered something, which was not audible to Yater.
Then at the same time, the two rushed at each other. And as if they turned into animals, they attacked the other one without much thought.
Yater received multiple hits, but he ate the attacks better than Mika.
At the end of the day, Yater was copying the Demon King currently.
Each one of his punches was enough to knock out A-ranks.
As one punch after another connected, Mika felt his organs and bones getting crushed. However, he could not allow himself to back down.
He grabbed Yater’s chest and threw him into the air.
Mika retracted one arm and stretched out the other one. Light amassed in both hands, forming a bow and an arrow out of light.
The arrow grew larger and larger until it reached the size of an adult.
And when he shot the arrow, the arrow split itself up into smaller arrows, which in turn also began to split themselves up.
"Tch..."
Due to its range, Yater did not see a way to escape, thus he put up his arms, hoping to block them off.
Some arrows naturally hit him, but again, they did not cause much damage to him.
"Hey, are you even taking this seriously?"
Slowly, he turned impatient.
[10 seconds left.]
"?"
However, he noticed something coming from above.
The clouds started to disperse as something white emerged from above.
Yater narrowed his eyes.
"Is that..."
The unknown white object revealed more of itself as it continued to fall down.
"!"
The thing that was coming down was an enlarged spear. Based on the size, the whole fortress could be easily destroyed without leaving a trace of it.
"Haha, I take everything back! You’re crazy!" Yater admitted laughingly.
He did not show any signs of running away. Instead, it seemed like he was ready to take it head-on. Even though, he could not even see the other end of the spear, which was still hiding above the clouds.
The spear was starting to penetrate the fortress as the higher floors and the roof crumbled from the impact.
And when it was about to hit Yater, he simply put up his hand and pushed against it.
"Haaaaa!" he screamed from the depth of his lungs as he attempted to push it in the other direction.
However, Yater was descending more and more, still unable to stop its fall.
"I kind of expected it, but this is still impressive..." Mika commented slightly stunned from the edge of the courtyard.
Yater was now on the same height as the fortress’ second floor, when the speed, at which he was pushed down, was visibly dropping.
[5 seconds left.]
Mika sharpened his gaze.
He engulfed himself with lightning and headed to Yater.
[4.]
"Wait, are you suicidal?!"
Yater was not expecting Mika to fly into danger himself.
However, Mika neither had the intention to stop the spear nor did he want to get caught by it.
[3.]
Mika retracted both of his hands to one side, which made it look like he was holding something.
Simultaneously, the Holy Spear began to shine brightly.
[2.]
"Damn it! I see, what you’re planning!"
Light gathered in Mika’s hands.
[1.]
"DAAAMMMNN ITTT!"
When the spear disappeared, Excalibur was summoned into Mika’s hands.
Just in time, he pushed the sword right into Yater.
The red blood spread in the air along with the darkness as Yater’s form was nullified by Excalibur’s ability.
[0.]
"Argh...!"
The pain was so strong that he could not even scream properly.
While Yater gently descended, Mika dropped to the ground and Excalibur, which was piercing through his chest, turned back into its rusty version.
At the same time, Mika’s appearance started to change, too.
His hair turned black, his eyes changed back to yellow and the halo above his head disappeared. Even the lightning, which was enhancing his body, vanished.
"S-screw you..."
In a weak tone, Yater pulled out the sword from his chest with his shivering left hand and threw the sword to the ground.
Now, more blood flooded out from the wound.
Yater, who turned back into his original child-like form, had a wide gap in his chest and was missing not only his right hand but also his left foot.
"No... I won’t die just yet...!"
The more he spoke, the more blood gushed out of his tiny mouth.
"Did I perhaps miss his heart...?"
The exhaustion kicked in as Mika’s breathing got ragged.
"I will at least kill you before she will arrive...!"
Yater struggled when he reached his hand out to Mika.
"Khh...!"
Mika gritted his teeth.
The ends of his black hair began to turn gold.
[Using that power again will threaten your life.]
"I don’t ca- Bluergh!"
Mika suddenly puked out a large amount of blood and collapsed on the ground.
And this time, he did not move anymore.
He lost his consciousness.
"So you’ve also reached your level, huh?" Yater mocked him with a faint smirk.
The winner of this match was Yater.
However, the winner of the battle at the Desolated Fortress was someone else.
"!"
His body flinched all of a sudden.
"Shit...!"
With widened eyes, he turned around.
At the worst time possible, the one person he wanted to avoid at all costs arrived.
Yater used his ability again to impersonate the Demon King.
Just like when he went up against Mika, he was covered entirely in darkness. However, he knew better than anyone else that he could not hold this form up for much longer. Still, he would only be able to survive against the fast-approaching person if he copied a part of the Demon King’s power.
"..."
Nothing happened so far. Only the gust of the wind was heard.
"!"
After a short time, a thunder’s roaring resounded.
"Here she comes..."
Thunder struck the courtyard’s center when a person arrived.
The person’s body was still crackling from the lightning around it.
Beneath the person’s feet, the ground was burnt and turned pitch-black with smoke emitting from it.
And from that smoke, a young woman emerged. She flicked her hair back as she casually walked forward.
"What a flashy entrance... Just like I expected from Rostanta’s queen..."
It was Olivia Rostanta, who managed to arrive at the scene taking only two minutes from where she initially came from.
Ignoring the enemy in front of her, she first took a look at the surroundings.
"..."
She heaved a sigh.
"As the reigning queen of this nation, I don’t know what I should say seeing this fortress in its current state." she said, however from her tone it appeared like she was not really interested.
Then, her gaze shifted to the unconscious body lying behind Yater.
"I recognize this uniform... That’s from the place where she is..."
Olivia stated pensively.
"So this is what it feels like to be ignored by your opponent, hahaha..." Yater murmured self-deprecatingly.
But as he spoke, blood was spilled out once again.
He did not care about it and took up his fighting stance.
"This may be it for me..."
Yater sounded surprisingly relieved for a moment.
"However, I won’t go down without a fight. With the remaining energy I have left, I will at bare minimum rip an arm off..." he declared determined.
"Hm? Who are you?" Olivia asked bluntly after noticing him.
Yater was already launching himself at her.
"I’m called-"
However, before he could state his name, he was torn into halves.
"Ah, you’re the one showing off his pressure like an immature brat, right?" Olivia remarked, sounding like she finally came to a realization.
Her hand, which had blood dripping down from it, was stretched out to the front as she was already behind Yater.
Even considering his state at that moment, an average S-rank would properly still had a tough time against him.
And yet, just in the brink of a second, Olivia split Yater’s body into two parts with just one hand.
This showed why she was indisputably the strongest queen in Rostanta’s history.
