Chapter 69: Queen Of Rostanta

Lightning sparked all over her body. Her long purple was floating slightly.

"..."

Mika was not expecting this kind of pressure.

It was a pressure, which put Yater to shame.

[Do not get distracted.]

"!"

He blinked only once, however, that proved to be a fatal mistake as Olivia got close to him in that inhumanely small amount of time.

Mika could not react in time to block her attack and received a punch in the guts.

"Bluergh...!"

He was about to crash into the mansion, but thanks to Wendy, who put a wind barrier around the fighting space, anyone who was about to fly into the building was stopped by the wind.

"Huff... Huf..."

With just a single punch, Mika almost lost.

A thick and red waterfall gushed out of his mouth. His eyes fought against the desire to close themselves. The pain in the guts stung so much that he did not even want to move an inch of his body.

The wind slowly carried Mika back to the platform.

"Tell me more about you. What is that appearance of yours? Is this a relic?"

"Haa... Haa..."

His breathing was so ragged that he could not even speak properly.

[After having acquired the third installment, your appearance will from now on change every time you unseal your powers. It serves as a visual sign of completing 50% of the initial process. You can now also either use Excalibur and Holy Light or The Holy Spear and Holy Light at the same time.]

But Mika only comprehended just a few parts of the things the system explained.

His bigger concern was in front of him.

"Hmm... But such a relic doesn’t even exist... Is that a potential new relic? Or is it something completely different...?" Olivia muttered pensively.

"Whatever. Getting him to talk can wait for now!"

She charged at him again.

But this time, Mika was prepared.

He switched to the spear, which came flying from above and pierced the spot between him and her before she could close the distance again.

"Ugh..."

As Mika summoned a bow and arrow out of light in his hands, the pain from the previous attack stung again.

He did not hesitate and shot off the arrow.

"?!"

Even though, she evaded, Olivia widened her eyes in surprise.

She stood still.

"Was this magic?"

The panting Mika pointed his finger at her and multiple light arrows flew down from the sky and homed in on her.

At first, she tried to jump away from them, but after realizing that they were tailing her, she gathered lightning in her hands and shot back at them.

The collision was so bright that for a moment no one was not able to see anything.

"This can’t be possible... I’ve only read tales about them before..." Olivia murmured as soon as the light started to get dimmer.

She walked to him in long strides.

Her smirk disappeared.

"Mika Elbar..."

In return, Mika took a few steps back.

"...are you an angel?" she asked with big eyes.

"!"

Both of them stopped in their tracks.

"I... I don’t know..." Mika replied exhausted.

"I see..."

Her eyes were cast to the ground.

And then, her smirk returned.

The aura around her changed again.

"!"

It was more terrifying than before.

Mika’s legs were trembling a little, almost giving up on him.

He stabbed the iron platform with the spear to use it as a support.

[She really is a member of that bloodline...]

"What is she...?"

[Calm yourself. Your resistance towards them should be higher now.]

Mika, who was gasping for air in a hurry, slowly but steadily controlled his breathing.

"..."

He looked over to Olivia.

Nothing changed about her visually-wise. She stood there confidently with her arms crossed, waiting for Mika to attack this time.

However, his eyes stung a little. He felt uneasy looking at her.

He grabbed onto the spear tightly.

"HAAA!" he roared as he threw the spear at her.

But as if it was nothing, she caught the spear barehanded.

"?"

Mika kind of expected this and used the spear to distract her.

He closed the distance, made the spear disappear and summoned Excalibur into his hand.

With swift, precise and fast slashes, he tried to land at least a scratch on her, but in vain.

Mika switched the way he gripped the sword, jumped backward into the air and threw Excalibur at her.

Olivia, in turn, jumped away.

Excalibur shone brightly and disappeared again.

"What now?" Olivia wondered with anticipation as she looked up into the air, where Mika was.

Reaching the necessary height, Mika used the Holy Spear and threw it down.

He went for the same strategy he used against Yater.

The spear was big enough to dig a hole in the whole yard.

"..."

While others would be taken aback, Olivia embraced the attack with a child-like excitement.

And just like Yater, she pushed against the spear with her hands.

However, she was not struggling as much with it as Yater.

Still, Mika took action quickly and appeared beside her.

When the spear started to dissolve into fine particles, Excalibur was about to form itself once more.

Then, the spear faded away completely and Excalibur materialized.

Yater was not able to dodge and Mika hoped that this time would be the same.

And yet, betraying his hope, Olivia, who still had her arms up, kicked Excalibur away.

"!"

She used the momentum and her hip movement to rotate herself in the air and landed a heel kick on Mika’s face.

The halo’s light was flickering.

But it did not stop there.

She grabbed him by the neck and slammed him to the ground.

"Argh...!"

Lying beneath her, Olivia was about to finish him off.

Her wide smile and eyes, which lost any ounce of reasoning, resembled a demon, who found a new toy.

She retracted her arm and launched a punch downwards.

"Tch..."

Half-conscious, Mika was embracing his defeat. However in that moment, fear suddenly overcame him.

As it was now, if the punch would truly connect, then the damage would be more serious than anticipated.

He closed his eyes.

What followed was a loud bang as Mika punched through the platform.

Normally, the wind would catch his fall, but the force behind the attack was too strong, making him crash into the yard’s ground.

It was shallow, but Mika got slammed so hard into the ground that he got stuck.

His appearance changed to his usual one and he lost all consciousness.

"This outcome was predictable, but still..."

"Yeah... Just what was that form of his?"

Wendy and Zack were so flabbergasted that they forgot about their task for a moment.

"Wendy. Zack. You can bring us down now." Olivia said indifferently as if nothing happened a few moments ago.

Hastily, they put down the people and made the platform disappear.

The butlers and maids treated Mika immediately. They were calm and professional as they gave him first aid.

"Call me when he wakes up again." Olivia told her retainers as she passed by them.

"Yes!"

The two hurried over to Mika, too.

[You failed the quest.]

A few moments later.

Olivia was now sitting on the edge of a large bed. She was in a room, which was also tidy and bright. It gave off a luxurious atmosphere, despite almost no furniture being there.

"This student of yours is pretty interesting."

"..."

The person Olivia was speaking to was sitting with an upright posture. The pillows were beneath her bottom and her back was facing the wall.

It was a woman, who wore a nightgown similar to the one Olivia was usually wearing. Her hands were placed on her thighs.

"Are you still not in the mood to talk, my dear sister?" she asked with her typical smirk.

"..."

As she moved her hands, the handcuffs, which were connected to the wall behind her, started to rustle.

Olivia sighed.

"Well, I guess I will check on him for now. See you later, then."

Thus, Olivia left the room again.

"..."

The one in chains was none other than Ophelia Ross. Real name Ophelia Rostanta.

She bit her underlip. Her eyes were bitter. The fingernails dug into her palms.

"Just why would you fight her, you idiot...?" she muttered worriedly.

"Knowing her, she most likely didn’t even bother telling her this but..."

Meanwhile, Olivia was heading to Mika’s room until she was stopped by a servant.

"Your Highness."

While prostrating in front of her, she handed over a letter.

"..."

At first, she reacted indifferently, but when she looked at the sender, her mood turned sour.

"Jeez... So it’s that Lereon Pantl guy, huh...?" she murmured with an annoyed sigh.

"He will for sure request another meeting. Can’t they just do that without me?" she complained.

"But without your Highness, it wouldn’t be impossible." the servant commented.

"I know, I know... I was just joking." Olivia replied half-heartedly while waving her hand.

"Sometimes I wonder how relaxed my life would be if I was just the queen of Rostanta..."

She sighed again.

"Well, as the captain of the Grand Order I have to fulfill my duty, I suppose."
