Chapter 125: Crazy Prince

Alexander made his way to the room heart pounding. He couldn’t even notice he only had a towel wrapped around him. And hell wait. Richard’s legs were sealed in ice! Who did that? Of country it’s you damn prince, he said in his mind.

"Please stop this. I’m freezing your Highness," Lord Richard said trying to free himself from the solid ice restricting his movements. "Damn it!" He cursed. His muscles had already started turning numb.

"What the hell did I do?" Alexander asked himself holding his head in disbelief. This irked Lord Richard to the core. Instead of the damn prince looking for a way to stop the freezing and the growing tornado, he was wallowing in self pity? He must be crazy.

"Get the fucking ice off my legs Alex," he yelled at the stupefied prince. He didn’t care if Alexander was a prince right now. His life was in line here and he wasn’t just going to sit and watch as he died. He would slap Alexander if that was what it took to wake him in this reverie he was in.

He had seen it, how Alexander crazily talked to an empty swing. Nothing could convince him right now that Alexander was in his true senses. Maybe he was nuts! That meant he had no right to be the next king. No one would want to be ruled by a crazy person, and so did Lord Richard want to advice one. Well, that was if he could live to see another day.

"Snap out of it Alex and get your ass down here. Remove the damn ice from my legs," he said stressing each word. Maybe he could hear him if he did so. And it did work. Alexander shook his head like one coming from a reverie.

"Lord Richard? What happened?" He asked squatting at Lord Richard’s level to take a closer look at his legs. His skin had turned pale white, veins popping on it, dry! Hell, his blood had frozen!

"Did I do this? Yes I did. I have to undo it. I’m so sorry my Lord," he said making Lord Richard roll his eyes inside out despite the awful situation he was in currently. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Just break the ice or something. Apologies will come later." Alexander nodded. How could he undo this? Damn it! He didn’t have the tiniest idea of how he even did it in the first place. He didn’t have much knowledge about his new powers. He really shouldn’t have done this. But this was not the time for regrets. Break it!

Yes! He had to break the ice. His eyes searched for something in the room, and there on the corner stood a metallic spear. His father used it for hunting when he escaped the pleasures of the palace. Alexander would accompany him during such times.

"Hang on a little." He rushed and picked the spear, gripping it firmly in his arms. "This might hurt," he said before piercing the spear through the hard ice injuring Richard on the surface of his skin. Had he used much force, Richard’s legs would be a story for another day.

Lord Richard groaned in pain despite having freezed totally. His breath was coming out in shallow breaths. His legs looked numb and pale, a sight not many would like to witness. Even meat coming from a freezer looked way better! Could he even walk?

"Let me get you out of here," Alexander said wrapping his arms around Richard’s shoulders. "Easy!" Damn it! He cursed. Richard was looking like a frozen summer fish, all courtesy of Alexander. He had gone way too far in experimenting his powers.

He kicked the door to his room open instantly surprising the two guards on watch. "Get the physician here this instant!" He almost yelled at the poor knights.

"Yes...Your Highness, " they answered simultaneously running amok in the opposite direction.

"I’ll be fine Alex. Now go and take care of that tornado before it’s too late," Richard said trying to catch his breath. Alexander was already rubbing his feet trying to generate some warmth. And the more he thought he was the cause of this, the more he blamed himself and grew angry with himself.

"No my Lord. I have to see to it that you’re fine. I can’t forgive myself if something bad happens to you. I... caused this Richard. All because of my selfish reasons...," sigh.

"You’re not helping here Alex. You’re blaming yourself and it’s getting colder with each passing second. You aren’t the right person for this. Go now...save the Valorian palace...your palace. I’ll be fine, " Richard said placing his cold hand on Alexander’s face. "It’s my last wish," he added earning a frown from Alexander.

"You are not dying you fool. You have to live... for me and for your unborn baby. Don’t you dare die!" Alexander said as if he could stop Richard’s death were he to die right now. But it made sense at the same time. He was releasing wraiths by staying here because he was angry at himself, and warmth was what Richard needed right now.

The chief physician arrived at the same time with the knights trailing closely behind him, shocked expressions written on the faces of all three.

"What happened?" The chief physician took the initiative to ask but the look he received from Alexander made him swallow the lump on his throat.

"Thank God you are here," he said standing on his feet. He placed his hand heavily on the physician’s shoulder before he looked him in the eye.

"I trust you will save his life. If not..." he made a dangerous face and flashed that evil smile of his making the physician grow week on the knees.

"I will try my best Your Highness," the physician responded in a shaky voice.

"Good," he said shifting his gaze to a smiling Lord Richard.

"Go now Alex. You can do this!" Richard motivated him though Alexander didn’t need it for now.

And turning to the knights, " nobody should get in this room until I say otherwise. And if I don’t come out, tell my mother I love her so much, and I’ve already forgiven her, and you as well, Lord Richard," he said glancing at Richard for who knows it would be the last time? ’I’ll do this!’ He said before storming into the room.
