The Beautiful CEO's Close Bodyguard
Chapter 1499 - 1512
After coming out of the bar, Chu Ge didn’t go straight home; he wanted to wander around a bit. As he walked, he ended up at a film set where a large crowd was gathered, cheering and excited as if they had spotted a celebrity.
Chu Ge stopped in his tracks, glanced over in that direction, and saw a luxury car parked by the roadside. A familiar figure emerged from it.
Han Wanwan was wearing a bright red dress and seven-centimeter high heels, walking in under the protection of a group of bodyguards.
Many fans around her were cheering loudly, their screams nearly piercing Chu Ge’s eardrums.
He remembered this woman from a previous encounter in Shanghai. Although they had only met once, her delicate features left a lasting impression on him.
Han Wanwan removed her sunglasses, greeting her fans and waving to those around. Her gaze inadvertently fell on Chu Ge, and her eyes widened in surprise.
Recalling Chu Ge’s attitude toward her in Shanghai, Han Wanwan felt a surge of anger. She had gone there specifically for Chu Ge, but how did he treat her? His indifference drove her mad, and she returned to the Capital City with her luggage that very day.
Now, seeing Chu Ge here, Han Wanwan naturally assumed he was here to apologize. She gracefully approached him, "Chu Ge, if you’re here to apologize, save it. I won’t forgive you that easily."
Han Wanwan said with a soft but firm tone.
In front of everyone, Han Wanwan walked directly up to a man, a faint smile on her face, leaving everyone present stunned.
"Who is this man?"
"No idea, he looks quite handsome. Is he Wanwan’s boyfriend?"
"He looks quite similar to that guy who was rumored to be involved with Wanwan before..."
A buzz of gossip erupted around them, but it seemed Han Wanwan didn’t hear a thing, entirely unbothered.
"Didn’t they clear things up, saying there was nothing between them? Besides, Wanwan is engaged to the Eldest Young Master of the Yuwen Family."
"Ha, you believe that? The entertainment industry is filthy; who really knows what’s true?"
"Are you a hater? How can you not have faith in your idol?"
The comment instantly aroused public outrage, and the person responsible sheepishly smiled, "I’m just passing by, here for the buzz. I don’t know anything, nothing at all."
The person quietly left.
Chu Ge raised an eyebrow, "Is there something you need?"
Seeing Chu Ge’s attitude, which didn’t resemble someone here to apologize at all, Han Wanwan felt anger bubbling up again, "You’re not here to apologize to me?"
Chu Ge smiled slightly, "Why should I apologize to you?"
"Of course, it’s because..." Han Wanwan pointed angrily at Chu Ge but was at a loss for words. What reason did he have to apologize? They weren’t connected in any way.
Realizing this, Han Wanwan fell silent.
Seeing her go quiet, Chu Ge’s smile deepened, "Why aren’t you saying anything?"
Han Wanwan glared at him, huffing softly, "Say what? What’s there to say? I’m busy, you know."
With those words, Han Wanwan turned, intending to leave with an elegant flourish. However, due to the crowd and her hasty turn, she accidentally misstepped, and her whole body fell sideways.
Chu Ge frowned as he watched Han Wanwan and instinctively stepped forward to catch her.
His large hand touched her waist, which felt like it could snap with just a bit of pressure.
Someone seized the moment, snapping photos and even recording the scene with their phone.
But neither of the principals seemed to care about these details; an embarrassed and angry Han Wanwan shoved Chu Ge away, "I don’t need your help!"
Chu Ge shot her a cold glance and released her immediately.
"Ouch!" Han Wanwan cried out, as she fell embarrassingly to the ground, glaring at Chu Ge in anger, "You!"
Chu Ge spread his hands innocently, "You said you didn’t need my help."
Stomping her foot in frustration, Han Wanwan cursed inwardly. Damn it! She wanted to tear Chu Ge into pieces!
Just as Chu Ge turned to leave, someone in the crowd called out his name. He glanced back and saw Director Zheng pushing through the throng, beaming at him, "Mr. Chu, you’re finally back. I’ve been trying to reach you, but your phone was always off."
Chu Ge looked at him suspiciously, "Looking for me? What’s up?"
Director Zheng chuckled, "What else could it be? It’s about acting."
"Acting?"
Director Zheng nodded, "Here’s the thing, I have this ghost film centered around a personal perspective, but I’ve struggled to find the right person. Wanwan wants to try a new direction and pick up this film, but I’ve tested many male actors to partner with her, and none fit. So I thought of you."
Chu Ge looked at Director Zheng with some surprise. The notion that this world’s Chu Ge could act amused him. How talented he must be!
"I don’t think I can do it."
This world’s Chu Ge might be able to, but he couldn’t.
"Don’t refuse so quickly. Just take a look at the script. It’s not much; just a cameo, a cameo."
Hearing Chu Ge’s refusal, Director Zheng grew anxious and hurried to block his way, saying, "Come, let’s go inside and look at the script. You can still refuse after reading it."
Seeing Director Zheng’s persistence, and guessing that this world’s Chu Ge had a good relationship with him, Chu Ge reluctantly agreed to avoid giving away anything strange.
Han Wanwan’s sharp gaze fixed on Chu Ge. If he agreed to act, she would make sure to give him hell during filming!
Thinking of this finally improved Han Wanwan’s mood.
Director Zheng warmly invited Chu Ge into a tea room, "Mr. Chu, have a seat. Let me pour you some water."
"No need, just show me the script please. I’ll be sorry if I can’t take on the role."
Chu Ge said coolly.
Though accustomed to Chu Ge’s aloofness, Director Zheng still poured him a cup of water, then sat opposite him, "I know, I know. Here’s the script. Have a look first."
Just as Chu Ge was about to reach for it, Han Wanwan snatched it away, "Chu Ge, I know your talent. You definitely can act. But if you’re saying you can’t just to avoid me, that’s not manly!"
