The Big Shot is Also Crazy About Me Today
Chapter 1331 - 1216: Nothing Is More Important Than You (Part 2)
Yu Yao was indeed waiting for the two of them. Upon seeing them enter, she immediately called them over, her eyes filled with a welcoming smile.
After exchanging greetings, the two people sat down, and Yu Yao looked at the two before her.
No matter how worried she was about her son, Shi Nuan’s appearance was indeed the kind that became more and more pleasant the longer one looked.
She was vastly different from the daughter-in-law she had imagined, but sitting beside her son, they seemed perfectly matched.
"Nuannuan hasn’t been to the old house for a while..." Yu Yao said softly.
Shi Nuan’s guilt deepened, and she quickly apologized to Yu Yao. Yu Yao smiled and said there was no need: "I’ve known your health is not great. For now, it’s most important to take care of your health!"
Shi Nuan nodded in agreement. The conversation was mostly about everyday matters; whatever Yu Yao asked, Shi Nuan answered, behaving quite obediently.
Unknowingly, the three of them sat there for over an hour. Yu Yao said, "A Yu, I now have to go to the temple to chant scriptures for your father. It’ll be about an hour until meal time; you take Nuannuan upstairs to rest for a while first!"
Song Yansheng stood up and said, "Then I’ll first escort Mom to the backyard temple!"
Yu Yao initially refused, but Song Yansheng insisted, so she had to give in. Before taking Yu Yao out, Song Yansheng said to Shi Nuan, "Nuannuan, you go upstairs to rest first. I’ll come up to find you in a bit!"
Shi Nuan originally wanted to accompany Yu Yao, but the backyard temple was where the Song Family’s ancestors were enshrined. Yu Yao was cautious about her identity and likely didn’t prefer her going there.
Shi Nuan went upstairs alone, heading to Song Yansheng’s room.
It was cleaned thoroughly inside, with a bouquet of jasmine flowers placed on the windowsill.
Clearly, Yu Yao had instructed someone to set it up specially because of her son’s return.
Just a few minutes after Shi Nuan entered, there was a knock on the door. Standing at the door was Aunt Tong.
She had a tray in her hand, with a glass of juice and some small snacks on it.
Aunt Tong said, "Mr. said Lady didn’t eat much breakfast. There’s still some time until lunch. Let me bring something for Lady to fill her stomach a bit!"
Shi Nuan’s eyes flickered lightly. She nodded and said, "Thank you!"
Aunt Tong didn’t say much, placing the tray down and asking Shi Nuan if she needed anything else. Shi Nuan shook her head, so Aunt Tong quickly went downstairs.
Aunt Tong’s attitude towards Shi Nuan was notably colder than Aunt Hui’s.
This was understandable, as Aunt Tong had previously been let go by Song Yansheng, and was only reappointed because of Yu Yao now.
Her heart was undoubtedly inclined towards Yu Yao, and naturally, she didn’t like Shi Nuan.
The juice was hot mango juice, and Shi Nuan ate a couple of the snacks. They weren’t too sweet, matching her taste.
But she wasn’t really hungry; on the contrary, she’d felt a bit uneasy in her stomach since early that morning.
Shi Nuan drank the mango juice and ate only two pieces of the snacks.
After that, she casually picked up a book from the bedside to read.
But as she read, she began feeling unwell.
Mostly, her stomach was uncomfortable.
Shi Nuan clutched her stomach and went to the bathroom, only to find a trace of blood on her underwear.
Having experienced a miscarriage more than half a month ago, Shi Nuan was now extremely sensitive to the sight of blood.
In an instant, her face turned as pale as paper.
Song Yansheng, having just escorted Yu Yao, pushed open the bedroom door but didn’t see Shi Nuan, so he looked towards the bathroom.
He found the bathroom door locked.
Song Yansheng felt a pang in his chest and called out, "Nuannuan?"
Shi Nuan didn’t respond to him.
Song Yansheng continued to call out, "Nuannuan, Nuannuan, are you in there? Answer me!"
Shi Nuan still didn’t respond.
Song Yansheng became anxious and kicked the door, making quite a noise, which startled the servants downstairs.
Aunt Tong hurriedly came upstairs. Just then, Song Yansheng kicked the door again, and this time, he successfully kicked it open.
But what he saw afterward made his heart grow even colder than before.
In the corner of the bathroom, Shi Nuan was squatting with her arms wrapped around her knees, trembling all over as if very cold.
Perhaps disturbed by the door opening, she looked up, her dark eyes staring at Song Yansheng.
Then she softly called out, "Second Uncle..."
Song Yansheng hurriedly stepped forward, scooped Shi Nuan into his arms, and loudly instructed Aunt Tong to immediately call Dr. Qu over.
Aunt Tong, not knowing what had happened, said "Oh, oh, oh," a few times and was about to leave when Song Yansheng stopped her again.
Song Yansheng said, "Call Aunt Xu, call Aunt Xu over!"
Aunt Tong responded and went off again.
Song Yansheng placed Shi Nuan on the bed, calling her name, and touched her hand, which felt extremely cold.
He was pained deeply and kissed Shi Nuan’s forehead, nose, and lips, telling her not to be afraid, that she had him there.
Shi Nuan looked at Song Yansheng, her eyes flickered, and then a surge of sour emotions burst forth.
