The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 967 - 936: Our Daughter Has Grown Up (Part 1)
September 1st, the first day of school.
Curly is in the senior class of kindergarten now, and next year she’ll be in primary school.
Although she couldn’t personally take her daughter to school, Sienna Johnson still got up early to make a hearty breakfast for Curly, celebrating her promotion to the senior class.
At the dining table, Curly fell asleep while eating.
"What did you do last night? Why are you so sleepy?" Sienna Johnson tapped her head to wake her up.
"Mom, I was doing homework last night, so much homework. Will there be even more when I go to primary school?" Curly asked nervously.
"I checked your homework, there’s not much at all.
Your teacher, Mrs. Wright, assigned it reasonably. But if you leave it all until the last few days, it will seem like a lot."
Sienna Johnson placed a shrimp dumpling in her bowl. Although Sienna always complained that she was gaining weight, she felt sorry when Curly ate less.
"Dad, is there much homework in Abyanabad’s primary schools?"
"I don’t know."
"Aren’t you from Abyanabad? Why don’t you know?"
Sienna Johnson said, "Because your dad never went to school."
Curly’s sleepy eyes suddenly popped open. "Dad, did you really never go to school?"
"Nope."
"So you’re illiterate?"
"What does illiterate mean?"
Curly looked at her father speechlessly and turned to her mom, "Mom, I told my classmates that my dad graduated from college, but he didn’t even finish primary school.
No wonder I’m not as smart as you, dad is dragging down my IQ."
"I think you’re already smart enough. Your mom is only smarter because she works harder, while you keep slacking off. If you..."
"Ahhh... stop talking, I’m going to be late." Curly, worried her dad might slip up, jumped off her chair and ran outside.
"Curly, don’t run right after eating," Sienna Johnson called after her.
"I’ll take her to school." Adrian Desmond stood up, wiped his mouth, walked over to Sienna Johnson, and kissed her lips.
"Wait for me to come back."
"Adrian, don’t you have to go to work?"
"I’m on vacation, until you’ve had the baby."
Adrian Desmond left, leaving Sienna Johnson alone at the table with plenty of leftovers, suddenly losing her appetite, too.
"Meow..."
The much-grown Snowy strutted over arrogantly. Sienna Johnson couldn’t hug him, so she teased him with a sausage, but Snowy walked away haughtily, not even glancing at her.
Sienna Johnson: Ignored!
...
In kindergarten, moving from middle to senior class, it was still the same group, and Curly was still deskmates with Olivia Ford.
"Curly, did you do the written homework?" Olivia Ford asked.
"Of course!" Curly replied proudly.
"I thought you hadn’t finished it yet."
Curly looked left and right, saw no one around, and mysteriously took out her magic pen to show Olivia Ford.
"What’s this?"
"Shh, this is my secret weapon," Curly whispered, "It’s because of this secret weapon that I was able to finish that huge pile of homework."
"What secret weapon?"
Curly leaned in and whispered the whole story into Olivia Ford’s ear, who asked in amazement, "Is it really that good?"
"Try it." Curly said generously.
Olivia Ford took it and wrote one character on her notebook, and five characters appeared.
"Awesome, right?" Curly raised her eyebrows proudly, completely forgetting that she should be low-key, low-key, and even more low-key.
"But, this thing... isn’t it a bit wrong?" The well-behaved Olivia Ford asked.
"What’s wrong with it? It’s great!"
Curly put the magic pen back into her pink and purple bag, full of pride, while a little boy with glasses in the back seat withdrew his eavesdropping head.
As a result, after school, Curly was honored to be called into the teacher’s office.
Curly’s homeroom teacher, Mrs. Wright, was a middle-aged woman whose son just started high school this year. She was very strict with the students.
"Jayce, you did a good job on this homework." Mrs. Wright started with Curly’s homework to get into the topic.
Curly smiled, happy to be praised by the teacher, "Hehe..."
"But, did you do all the homework yourself?"
"Of course! You can tell by the handwriting, it’s all mine."
"Really?"
"Really!"
"I heard you invented a quick writing tool?"
Curly was stunned. She had only told Olivia, but it couldn’t be Olivia who tattled. She trusted Olivia’s character. Curly mentally reviewed the suspicious candidates and focused on the Glasses Kid.
It must be that Glasses Kid who always opposes her.
She hadn’t noticed earlier, but now she remembered that the Glasses Kid, sitting behind them, had been sneaky, definitely eavesdropping on their conversation.
"Mrs. Wright, was it the Glasses Kid?" Curly questioned.
"Don’t worry about who it was. Just bring me that quick writing tool. I want to see how magical it is."
Curly lied, "I don’t have one!"
"Jayce, do I need to notify your parents and have them come here?"
"Are you calling my dad or my mom?" Curly wasn’t afraid if it was her dad, but her mom...
"Of course your mom. Who else can handle you except your mom?"
Mrs. Wright knew Jayce’s family dynamics well. She knew that besides her mom, Curly feared no one.
"No, my mom’s about to have my brother. She’s our family’s top priority right now, she can’t come."
"Take it out!"
Reluctantly, Curly took it out of her bag and handed it to Mrs. Wright.
Mrs. Wright examined the finely crafted magic pen and asked, "Who helped you make this?"
"I can’t say."
"Was it your dad again?"
"Teacher, how did you know?" She hadn’t said a word.
Mrs. Wright confiscated the pen and said, "Jayce, I know I can’t control you, so I won’t waste words. Have your mom come in personally tomorrow."
"My mom can’t make it."
"Alright, then I’ll visit your home after school."
Curly: ...
With her head hanging low, Curly left the kindergarten. Adrian Desmond had been waiting impatiently.
He got out of the car and walked over, seeing his dejected daughter. "Why are you so late today? All the other kids have left, and you’re just coming out."
"Dad, we’ve been exposed!"
"What?"
"The thing with the magic pen, Mrs. Wright knows."
"You didn’t say I made it, right?"
"I didn’t, but Mrs. Wright guessed it was you."
Adrian Desmond held his forehead, feeling the weight of the situation. "Does Mrs. Wright have any hobbies? Maybe I should buy something to bribe her?"
"Dad, there’s one more unfortunate news I have to tell you."
"What?"
"As I was leaving Mrs. Wright’s office, she was calling mom."
Adrian Desmond: ...
