The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 833: Selfish
After making two consecutive phone calls with no answer, Damian Knight began to get anxious.
Assistant Shelton, knowing Damian Knight was worried about Summer Monroe, quickly reassured him, "Could her phone be out of battery? Don’t worry, I’ll send someone to Redleaf Manor and the school to check."
"No need," Damian paused and said, "I know where she is."
...
Crestfall Cemetery.
Summer Monroe knelt before Luna Monroe’s tombstone, holding a copy of Henry Stanton’s sentencing document.
"Mom, do you see this? I avenged you... Henry Stanton has been sentenced to life imprisonment in The Vanguard Prison. In The Vanguard Prison, he won’t have an easy life. This is the judgment; I’ll burn it for you to see."
Summer said as she lit the match with a "click," focusing intently as the judgment slowly burned into ashes.
A gust of wind blew the ashes into the sky, swirling upward until they disappeared without a trace.
Summer lifted her head, looking at Luna Monroe’s photo on the tombstone, and said, "Henry Stanton is just the first. I will find Stella Monroe soon. And after Stella Monroe, those who incited her and helped her harm you. I know if it weren’t for those folks, you wouldn’t have left so suddenly. They are also among the main culprits."
She bit her lip and said, "But if the man in the photo... is involved too, please don’t blame me. I won’t hold back against him, even if he might be my biological father."
She was indeed very selfish, to the extent that her true family in her heart was only Luna Monroe and the Williams family.
As for that man, he was just a stranger who gave her life.
A parasol suddenly appeared over her head, shading her from the harsh sunlight.
She didn’t even need to look back to know who was holding the umbrella.
Right, there was now one more family member in her heart.
Someone whose mere presence made her feel incomparably at ease.
"You’ve come." Summer patted her skirt and stood up, her tone calm and serene.
She wore a white dress today because she planned to visit the cemetery after the judgment.
"Why didn’t you answer my call?" Damian inquired gently despite the question.
"Sorry." Summer took out her phone and explained, "It has to be turned off in court, and then I forgot to turn it back on."
"It’s okay, as long as I know you’re fine." Damian reached out to gently tousle Summer’s soft hair and said, "Remember to take an umbrella when you go out. With the sun this strong, aren’t you worried about getting a tan?"
As he said this, he handed the umbrella to Summer, standing himself in the blazing sun.
With a bend of his knees, he knelt before Luna Monroe’s tombstone.
In Summer’s astonished gaze, Damian spoke, "Aunt Luna, please allow me to call you Mom. Actually, I should have introduced myself long ago, but I wasn’t sure if Sadie felt the same as I did, so I didn’t dare call you that. But now..."
Damian turned his eyes to deeply gaze at Summer, then looked back at Luna Monroe’s tombstone.
"Mom, Sadie and I are married now, and from now on, I will take good care of her, value her more than myself. Please rest assured in the afterlife, I will take good care of her on your behalf for a lifetime."
Summer was momentarily dazed, then a smile curled up on her lips.
As she smiled, somehow, tears began to fall. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Why are you crying?"
Seeing Summer cry, Damian quickly stood up, fumbling to find napkins, only to realize he didn’t have the habit of carrying them.
