The Billionaire's Revenge Wife
Chapter 22: Stop Projecting
Vivian walked towards her, her lips tight with a smile.
"Arianna," she called with fake enthusiasm. "I didn’t think I would see you here." Then she glanced at Daemon. "And you brought a man."
Vivian couldn’t believe her eyes for a moment.
Daemon Langford was at her parents’ anniversary celebration.
It was difficult to see that man at events. And yet somehow, he’d managed to come to her birthday party and her parents’ anniversary in a span of two months.
It was unbelievable.
But what was even more unbelievable was that he was there with Arianna of all people.
She took notice of his hand that was resting on her waist, her fist tightening.
Vivian forced a smile on her lips. "Don’t tell me you had to sleep with him just to afford to attend this party, Arianna?"
Vivian’s voice was raised slightly, almost as if she wanted people to hear her words. And she’d succeeded because the guests paused their conversation, their heads spinning to them, curiosity in their gazes, ready to listen in on their conversation.
Vivian smirked when she saw people already watching them from the corner of her eye.
Then she turned to Arianna.
"I know you lost everything after you divorced Logan. You don’t even have a place to live anymore. I wanted to take you in and you just had to deny the offer and choose to sell yourself like a slut."
Arianna’s jaw ticked while her hand clenched.
Then Vivian turned to Daemon, her entire demeanor changing.
"I don’t know what she has told you but she’s not who you think she is. Years back, before she married Logan, Arianna was fond of sleeping with wealthy men just to afford a normal lifestyle. It was the only way she could afford to live a life."
Arianna’s lips turned into a thin line.
If they weren’t in public, where people were watching, possibly waiting for a brawl to happen, then she would have made sure that Vivian kissed her fist before she could even continue to voice out more nonsense from her mouth.
"You do realize that you’re speaking so terribly of my wife, right?" Daemon asked, his eyes narrowed into slits.
Vivian paused for a moment, the crowd gasping in shock.
Vivian’s eyes widened in shock.
"Wife?"
She quickly glanced down at Arianna’s wrist, checking for a wedding ring, but she didn’t see any.
"She’s not your wife," Vivian stated, as if she was trying to convince herself.
Daemon didn’t reply, simply stared at her like she was an idiot.
"You don’t believe that I’m remarried, Vivian?" Arianna asked, her voice filled with raw mockery.
Vivian’s eyes nearly balled right out of their sockets. She didn’t want to believe that Arianna was married to Daemon Langford, the first son of the Langford family, the richest in Las Vegas and very powerful in the whole of Europe.
That was impossible.
"You know what? I’m glad that you and Logan got together. That way, I found my own true love." Arianna leaned in towards Daemon, placing her face to his shoulders. "Now I’m scared that you might actually steal this one from me."
The guests immediately started to murmur.
"What did she mean by stealing her man from her? Did Vivian steal Logan from Arianna? What’s going on?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"From what I know, Logan and Arianna got divorced without revealing anything to the public. Was it because he was too ashamed to admit that he’d cheated on Arianna?"
"Logan isn’t that stupid to make such a mistake. If it wasn’t for Arianna, he would be nothing."
As soon as Vivian heard the last words from the other guest, her lips instantly set into a thin line.
Everyone knew that Arianna was the one who helped Logan rise. Every single high-class associate knew that.
Despite being an orphan, she’d managed to make her man grow in the business world, building an empire alongside him, only for her to get terribly betrayed by him.
"I didn’t steal Logan away from you. He simply chose me," Vivian said defensively, but her voice was uncertain, as if doubting herself.
Vivian and Logan had been lovers for almost a decade while they watched Arianna sweat buckets trying to get investors for Logan’s startup company at that time.
He’d promised he was simply using Arianna, that he’d dump her once he was done using her and that was what he’d done.
However, Vivian was still insecure as she stood in front of Arianna.
With her sharp pale blue eyes and dark wavy hair, coupled with her pointed nose and sharp jawline, she looked like she’d be brought right out of a Disney cartoon.
Vivian had always been insecure about Arianna’s beauty, and although she was now married to Logan and carrying his child, she was still worried that Ariann might be able to seduce him and steal him from her once again.
"Then shouldn’t you be glad that I found the love of my life? You have yours and I have mine. " Arianna blinked innocently at her.
Arianna glanced around and saw that some of the guests were still watching them, patiently waiting for a brawl to happen.
Smirking, Arianna took a step towards Vivian, leaning towards her ears.
"I get that you’re scared to see me alive, but projecting your insecurities on me just to change the story isn’t the way to go about it," she whispered, only loud enough for Vivian to hear. "Remember, only I know the real truth about your dirty character. Logan doesn’t know and neither do these people know about it as well. If I start talking, you wouldn’t even have the mouth to defend yourself, let alone switch up the story anymore."
Then Arianna leaned back with a sweet smile on her lips as she stared at Vivian’s pale face. "Your dress is pretty by the way. Where did you get it?"
Vivian quickly recovered, and without saying a word, she turned and left, stumbling left and right before she finally disappeared from the crowd.
