Episode 41 - Statistics Window [2]

Los Elixirs I had in my hands were the following.

An Elixir of Dexterity, an Elixir of Perception, an Elixir of Flexibility, and an Elixir of Attribute Manipulation.

The final condition to unlock the Statistics Window was to drink at least one elixir that increased each of the hidden statistics.

Having somehow fulfilled the other conditions, only the last one remained.

I grabbed the first Elixir, uncorked it, and drank it in a single gulp.

It was the Elixir that increased Dexterity.

After drinking it, I didn’t feel anything in particular; however, I was certain that my Dexterity had increased.

Shortly afterward, I picked up the remaining Elixirs and drank them in a single gulp.

The only elixir whose effects I could actually feel in my body was the Elixir of Flexibility.

I stretched my body and performed movements that I couldn’t do before, such as bending my sword more than usual or sitting on the floor and trying yoga.

In any case, after taking the elixirs, a notification appeared shortly afterward.

After receiving the notifications, I examined every corner of the Status Window, and in the section labeled Runes, next to the Rune called Fable, there was a new Rune.

Then, a new screen appeared in my mind.

A series of information unfolded before me. I carefully read each statistic, beginning with the basic or general statistics.

They were exactly as I expected, since I could feel them without needing to check them; even so, I noticed that all my basic statistics were high.

At the very least, quite high considering that I was a Four-Star Awakened.

Then I read the hidden statistics section.

’Mhm, Perception is related to the senses, since they provide information to the brain so it can interpret it, so it’s probably normal for it to be Ten Stars.’

But overall, my hidden statistics were much lower.

Looking more closely at Dexterity, I couldn’t understand how I was able to make potions with only Three-Star Dexterity.

The Precision statistic improved balance, control, and, of course, the accuracy of attacks, as well as the movement and use of my own body.

It was Four Stars, but honestly, I didn’t feel like I was lacking anything when it came to Precision.

’I should investigate it further later.’

Flexibility was also too low; greater Flexibility meant better control over the body.

And finally, there was the strangest statistic of all, Attribute Manipulation.

It was unexpectedly high, considering that it hadn’t been long since I started training Attribute Manipulation through Attribute Skills.

’The hidden statistics aren’t bad, but compared to the basic statistics, they’re pretty average.’

Now for the last section.

This was definitely the one that intrigued me the most.

’What are Soul Power, Causality, and Astral Power? Those three statistics don’t exist in my memories.’

Divinity could be obtained once I reached Ten Stars, although the amount would be so small that I would probably only be able to accumulate something like 0.06 Divinity.

Only an Eleven-Star Awakened could accumulate a significant amount of Divinity, reaching figures of ten points or more.

’Then what are these three statistics...? No, these two statistics.’

Well, I already knew what Causality was used for.

As far as I knew, Causality could alter Predetermined Fate, although apparently a Fable was required to use Causality.

’For now, I don’t know how much Causality is required to use my Second Fable and survive a possible death.’

A Dark Fate did not necessarily mean that I would die within a few years.

The day of my death could even arrive right now.

However, no matter how much I tried to avoid the person or entity destined to kill me,

Dark Fate would find a way to kill me; that was the sole power of Dark Fate.

If it were a Predetermined Fate, it would be possible to change it if you knew how your death would occur.

’Alright, then what are Soul Power and Astral Power?’

Astral Power was perhaps related to the Astral Plane.

The Astral Plane was the only plane filled with mysteries and unanswered questions.

It was only known to exist, but in reality, no one had ever been able to enter the Astral Plane directly.

’The only thing I know is that the Memory Gates use the Astral Plane as a power source to record the stories of Awakened who are worthy of being chosen.’

Could Astral Power be the ability to manipulate or alter a Memory Gate?

Other than being an energy source for Memory Gates, I don’t know anything else about the Astral Plane.

’I should ask Veronica. Maybe she knows something.’

In any case, what exactly is Soul Power?

Nothing in particular came to mind, and after thinking about it for a while, I decided to ask my master.

Since she herself is a Divine Soul, she probably has some idea, or at least knows something about it.

"Master, do you know if Soul Power exists?"

〖Soul Power? I don’t know what you’re talking about. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of it.〗

So she doesn’t know anything about it.

Lost in thought, an idea suddenly crossed my mind.

"Then, do you perhaps feel some kind of unique energy that only you can perceive?"

Even if she doesn’t know anything about it, maybe my master feels something different from Mana, the Power of Chaos, or some other form of energy.

My master remained silent for a few seconds before speaking.

〖Mhm, to be honest, it’s difficult to explain. As a Divine Soul, I don’t particularly feel anything, yet at the same time I can perceive things that I couldn’t sense when I was alive. It’s strange, and besides that...〗

She paused, as if deep in thought.

〖I feel as though I can touch or manipulate other people’s souls, but the sensation is so faint that if I don’t concentrate, I can’t even notice it.〗

That means Soul Power possesses certain abilities, such as Soul Manipulation.

A flood of questions filled my mind.

Most likely, my master can sense Soul Power, but perhaps because her Soul Power stat is so minuscule, she isn’t truly aware of that energy.

’Maybe Soul Power is even rarer than Astral Power.’

Although I still know nothing about Astral Power, the only thing I currently know about Soul Power is that it manipulates souls.

Though its possible applications remain unknown.

’Perhaps it’s a power that only gods know how to use.’

The unique stats, which originally consisted only of Divinity, are related to the Gods.

So perhaps it’s a unique power that the Gods can use freely.

’Well, now that I know about my stats, I should go visit someone.’

I quickly put on the armor I had obtained at the Black City Auction and wore the black mask I had also bought there.

Shortly afterward, I left through my room’s balcony and headed toward the girls’ dormitories.

Clana was sitting while reviewing several documents in her hands.

She was dressed in a sleeping robe, her hair was down, and her expression remained stoic as she read in silence.

After being saved by her supposed "Protector Prophet," or whatever that was supposed to mean,

Clana neither dismissed nor disregarded it. Ever since that day, she had put effort into finding at least a single clue.

However, there was nothing—absolutely nothing.

The papers in her hands contained images of different people with white hair and golden eyes. Even their physical features and height matched.

Yet Clana immediately knew that none of them were the person from her memories.

’Who is this person? Why is he protecting me, and what exactly does he gain in return for protecting my life?... Could he be some stalker who simply wants to seduce me or something? He wouldn’t be the first. There are already many men who secretly pursue me... or perhaps... he’s in love with me.’

Various thoughts crossed her mind, but then she suddenly sensed something, and Clana rose from her seat at once.

She looked toward the balcony. The curtains blocked the view outside, but she instantly knew that someone was there.

She glanced around before grabbing her sword.

’If someone really came here looking for me, even with Director Bernice in this place...’

She couldn’t help but feel bewildered. Nevertheless, she walked toward the balcony, pulled the curtain aside, and then...

"....?"

"Y-you are..."

On the other side of the glass door stood the person who kept appearing in her thoughts.

"It’s been a while, Princess Clana."

The man gave a slight bow, placing a hand over his chest.

Clana’s heart began to race, and for some reason, she didn’t know what to say.
