The Bloody Crown
Chapter 210: Freezing
Terrence combed his hair back and cursed under his breath.
- I didn’t want to kill her, but when she swung the blade at you, I just stopped thinking. I couldn’t let her kill you. – He tried to explain.
But explanations were no longer needed, the return of Artemis’s consciousness added to her coolness of mind and returned to the pressing problems that still hung like a thundercloud over their heads.
- We’ll bury her later. – she created a magical dome around Madeleine’s body, which protected her body from decomposition and encroachment from the outside.
Terrence nodded approvingly.
- How did you end up here? You were still in a coma the last time I saw you.
- The vampire helped me, the one who’s Raphael’s sister. - He explained.
- Amanda? But how?
- By the time she came, my body was already in perfect order, so sShe gave me more of her blood so that my vital processes would work again and I could wake up from a long sleep. She also helped me come here.
- So you’re saying Amanda’s already back? - She bit her lower lip, imagining how outraged Dexter would be. She had promised him that she would send Amanda away so that he could fully concentrate on the battle without being distracted by her safety, but who could have known that this obnoxious vampire princess would be too stubborn.
Terrence glanced at the limp body of his dead sister. She could no longer find out about the deep regret that tormented him, but at that moment he made the only right decision for himself. He couldn’t hesitate, he had no right to do so when he promised to devote his life to protecting Thea.
- It’s too bad. - She continued to wail. - She needs protective armor at the very least.
- She looks like a grown-up girl to take care of herself.
- That’s the thing, she’s a girl - fragile and defenseless. Do not think that all vampires have thick skin and nine lives like cats.
- I didn’t think so. It’s just that she doesn’t look weak enough to get into trouble in the first minute on the battlefield.
TemiThea did not respond to his words, because it was completely pointless to prove anything to another stubborn person.
- Anyway, I am immensely happy to see you alive and well. - She suddenly hugged him and immediately his big hands covered her back, returning the warmth from the embrace. - Thank you for surviving and coming back to us.
- I heard when you came to me to cure me. It’s your merit that I still don’t feed the earthworms. - He grinned, flashing a cute dimple in his cheek.
Klaus tirelessly (or so it might seem at first glance) fought off enemies, his new elven weapon instantly tore apart the bliars, as if they were an ordinary clay mass. He was tearing out with his teeth the time she had given Terrence.
- Do you think you’ve recovered enough to use your magic? We could use another magician. - she asked expectantly.
- Let’s check it out. – he waved his magic wand and a dark vortex began to form on its tip, expanding and spreading for many kilometers around.
The dark gray sky was covered with impenetrable clouds, thickening more and more at the summons of the magician.
Temithea spun a web of spells in the air, picking up gusts of wind, cooling them to minimum temperatures. Tiny snowflakes began to flutter from the August sky. But this was not enough, and soon a serious snowstorm broke out, which blinded the eyes, and stuck a heavy snow mass on the wool of the bliars.
Temithea mounted Berkoot and, nodding to her brother, rushed forward as fast as she could. She knew she could trust him to protect her people. He was a powerful magician, she trusted him before she left.
She didn’t stop rushing forward when the werewolf Uruma caught up with her. Nicole was sitting on his back, hugging tightly to the fluffy fur.
- How are you doing, Nikki? - She shouted, throwing a net of spells around to clear her way.
- It became easier after you decided to freeze everything around here. – a grateful smile colored her lips. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
- It won’t bother the creatures too much, but it will slow down the witches, albeit for a short time. - She dashed Nicole’s hopes to the dust.
- They started summoning golems. You know, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to freeze them. It was brilliant.
- Golems? I didn’t see them. Were there many of them?
- No. It probably takes a lot of effort to create them, so I’ve only seen a few that have successfully frozen from the cold.
- Be careful not to accidentally fall into a trap. Now there is no time to help the wounded and this can be a tragic outcome. We have too many losses as it is.
Nicole carefully stroked the wolf’s fur as they raced side by side.
- I want you to stay here, don’t run any further with me.
- But why?
- We have too few people who can do magic, and we need to properly disperse our forces, helping vampires and werewolves. I have to get to the Fae as soon as possible. It bothers me that we still haven’t met Lillian.
- Maybe she’s afraid of you? - A stupid guess escaped her mouth, but Temithea immediately dismissed it.
- No. She’s immortal now, so there’s hardly anything she’s afraid of. Especially me.
In an instant, Nicole pulled Urum’s fur and he braked sharply, but Temithea did not stop and did not even look back. Her mute response was an order for Nicole to follow her instructions and stay put.
Although Nicole herself couldn’t believe what she heard. Doubt crept into her heart, which was immediately replaced by fear and quiet horror. How was this even possible? And what will they do now? Was there any point in this whole war if they couldn’t defeat the immortal, or was it just an attempt to buy time to die a little later?
The war escalated to a new level when spells flew in the air above their heads in a vast dome. Temithea knew that for too long the vampires would not be able to dodge them, as it was a solid carpet covering the sky.
She created protective shields that ricocheted off spells, but she couldn’t protect everyone. Her brain was working so fast, generating one thought after another.
There was a crackling of branches from behind, rising like a wall, as if to ward off enemies. Nicole began to cover the entire space with a new maze, which was completely out of comparison with Raphael’s magic, but at the same time would help buy time in their fight while vampires and werewolves fought side by side.
Seeing a bright shimmer ahead, charmingly beautiful, like a thin shiny cloth, Temithea froze with admiration.
