The Bloody Crown
Chapter 229: Happily ever after
- A letter? From Jenin?
Klaus nodded.
- I read it, and at first I didn’t want it to fall into your hands, but it would be selfish and wrong, so here... here you go.
With an uncertain grip, Thea took the opened envelope from his hands and without hesitation took out the letter. She read with ecstasy, with a sinking heart, with confusion and a sad smile.
- She was such a stupid fool to blame herself for that. -Thea commented out loud.
- I think the fact that she couldn’t tell you to your face bothered her.
"Still, I’m glad she didn’t. At least she lived a little longer that way. If only Raphael had found out then that it was Jen who gave the witch’s portal artifact to the servant to set the wolf on me, following Tethys’s orders, he would have killed her at that moment without blinking an eye. And then we wouldn’t have had time to get to know each other better and even make friends. If only she could hear me now, I would tell her that I forgive her and don’t blame her for anything. I would tell her how much I love her and how much I cherish her.
- I’m sure she knew about it. That’s why she didn’t hesitate to sacrifice her life to save you at that moment.
- She was very brave and courageous. – She agreed. – Adeline is the same, but more vulnerable. Try to become the person with whom she will feel completely safe, without relying on her own courage.
- I promise, it will be so. - Klaus smiled.
- Will you propose to her?
- I don’t think there is a need for this, we are already imprinted with each other. - He shrugged his shoulders. – But if she wants it....
- I’m very happy for you two. - Thea touched his forearm, giving him a friendly smile.
- And what about you and Raphael? Everything is fine?
- We communicate a lot, he supports me and I feel it. I am grateful to him for everything, so it would be stupid of me to be angry at him for something that we can’t fix in any way. I love him too much and probably ego is my selfishness, but even after all his stupid antics, I will never be able to leave him.
- So you’re staying in Abion?
- Yes, my place is here now. I’m a vampire now.
- So you’re going to have a threesome now? - He pursed his lips, trying to hide a laugh, but immediately received a blow on his forearm. – I admit, you’re hitting like a brave man now.
He pretended to be in pain, making a sad face.
- Artemis is doing great, trying not to delve into our relationship. It certainly makes me feel uncomfortable when the three of us are together, but she really pretends that she no longer cares about Raphael and their previous relationship. They are still officially married, but Ivrim promised to settle the matter soon.
- I heard she was mad for a long time because of her new appearance.
- Yes, I think it’s not easy to come to terms with the fact that now she looks completely different from what she used to. She tells everyone that her new shell is ugly and she should have been allowed to die. She’s clearly exaggerating. - They both chuckled, imagining Artemis’s indignant squeaks. – But you know, it seems to me that a new white streak will soon begin in her life, which will make her take her mind off her appearance.
- What do you mean?
She put her finger to her lips.
- I heard that she casts ambiguous glances at our doctor, who is doing everything possible to get her back on her feet as soon as possible, because she is still on magical recharge due to the transmigration of the soul. Well, at least that’s what the nurses whisper, and now I have too sharp hearing.
She rolled her eyes as if it was something unbearable that was distracting her.
- Let’s consider that we have lost a man.
- Do you think it’s that serious?
- Yes, she won’t get off him alive until he reciprocates her.
- I’ll pretend that I feel sorry for him. But... no. - Thea laughed. – At least if they succeed, then I will be able to be more relaxed, not thinking that I took the man away from the family.
- Well, it was originally a strange family, in which one of the spouses is dead.
- An orphan soul, you mean.
- Isn’t that the same thing? But anyway, I’m glad she got another chance to live her life. She’s not a bad girl, but with her own cockroaches in her head.
- We all look like her in some way. By the way, what are you planning to do now? Will you stay in Abion?
- Actually, I wanted to talk to you about that too. I would like to return to Norland and join the pack.
- Do you think Adeline will be fine there? - Thea asked with a slight concern in her voice.
- We have already decided this together. Being among vampires is almost the same as being among werewolves. Moreover, Nicole and Urum will also return to Norland. Surprisingly, I did not expect that this couple could create some kind of favorable union. I thought they’d cut each other’s throats faster.
- Or rather, Nicole will do it. - Thea corrected. - Initially it was clear that Urum liked her. Even at the moment when he stayed to take care of her when she got sick.
- Fucking romantics.
- I think you sounded a little envious. Well, now that I have super-speed, at the ready with magic, I think it won’t be a problem for me to visit you often after you leave for the northern lands.
- We will always be glad to see you. But before that, I’ll see you at your wedding. You weren’t going to hide it, were you? - She narrowed her eyes, and then slid them to the ring finger of her hand, on which a sparkling ring gaped.
- We’ll send you an invitation as soon as this guy gets divorced. - She stuck out her lips like a duck and looked away.
- Agreed. Shall we hug goodbye?
Thea took a step forward and drowned in Klaus’s wide and warm friendly embrace.
- Hands off a someone else’s woman. - Raphael’s cold voice hissed like a snake, which suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
- Opachki, and here comes the jealous husband. It’s time to make your feet. - Klaus jerked back, throwing his hands up and laughing.
He shook hands with Raphael and Thea knew from just one look that something was going on between them. Were they hiding something from her? The thought made her fluff her feathers and frown.
- You’re late, I’m bored. - Rafael wrapped her in his arms as soon as Klaus left.
- And what was it between you just now?
- I don’t know what you’re talking about.
- Don’t make a fool of me, I’ve seen those meaningful looks of yours. Come on, tell me what you’re up to behind my back. She poked him in the chest with her index finger.
- Love, honestly, you’ve got something in mind. But... if you ask me nicely, maybe I’ll tell you some made-up story. - He winked at her with his eyebrows and immediately she pinched his cheek hard, which made him gasp.
- Try to catch up with me first and maybe then I’ll ask you. I’ll ask you very well. - She deliberately licked her lower lip slowly, exposing elongated fangs, which made Raphael’s adam’s apple jump as he swallowed, and his eyes sparkled.
- I agree, it’s a dubious pleasure to do this in a cemetery.
- Do what? - she asked playfully, already retreating from him behind the fence.
- To discuss your requests, of course, honey. Come here. - He held out his hand to her.
- Nope. – she smiled even wider and turned around and ran. – You have to catch up with me.
- Was that ever a problem for me? - He grinned and at the same moment both disappeared from the place where they had been a second ago.
End.
***
My dear friends, my readers. So my book has come to an end. It was a long story that I wanted to share with you, which I lived in my head throughout the entire time it took me to write this novel.
I hope that my heroes did not leave you indifferent and were able to catch your hearts.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported me, I really appreciate it and send you rays of kindness and gratitude.
I admit, it turned out to be difficult for me to work in this genre. When I started my work, I imagined every detail in colors, but when it came to describing the topics of bloodshed that were difficult for me, I thought that I might not be able to cope with it, because I was too afraid of blood.
Maybe it was overcoming yourself. I wanted to show in my book that cruelty and violence can never lead to anything good and bloodshed is just a useless unnecessary sacrifice. I would like to see a little more goodness in the world and less violence and wars.
May everything be fine for everyone, there will be a peaceful sky above their heads and love and happiness live in their hearts.
Thank you again for being with me during these year and a half. You are the best kittens, moore. ❤❤❤
