The witches froze and pricked up their ears in anticipation of an important statement. Each of them had heard about the greatest power possessed by the vampire king, but none of them knew that Raphael was more than a vampire. His blood was the purest sample of the wizard’s blood, the only survivor so far.
He was more powerful than they could even imagine and going into a direct confrontation with him was a real suicide. That is why Lillian preferred to remain silent, not giving out these details to others. Neither witches nor magicians knew about it. Everyone thought he was just an ordinary immortal vampire.
It took her centuries to erase all references to his magical essence, to block this information from the seers.
But what she couldn’t foresee was that some insignificant little human would discover the essence of Raphael for Eugene. And now Eugene was in the throes of reason, thinking how she should do the right thing.
Even as a child, she saw flashes of visions, fragmentary but vivid, as if they were part of the present. In these visions there was a war that affected every corner of the earth, there was no one who was indifferent. And there was no salvation for anyone in this all-consuming flame that Lillian lit until this little girl appeared.
She saw the bright light that Thea radiated in her vision and saw the inspiration in the eyes of the combatants, who saw unquestioning help in this fragile little body with snow-white hair. "The Light of Riliya". Tethys saw the same vision, but she deciphered it in her own way. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
- The first way we can use is to weaken him and drain his magical streams so that he falls into eternal hibernation.
- But it is impossible to defeat him, how can we even get close to him to carry out this plan? It’s suicide. - she roared from the witches, dissatisfied with this absurd plan.
- Calm down, Hara. Another way is more effective, it will help to put the first plan into practice. You just need to make me immortal. – Lillian said calmly, which plunged everyone present into genuine shock.
Everyone just looked at each other, unable to gather their thoughts in a heap to say at least something reasonable to this statement.
- I understand you are shocked right now, but this is the best way to defeat him, as well as protect every witch. - she waved a book in the air, which she took out of her bag.
- In this book, a method is described that helps to achieve immortality by certain efforts. - Lillian said.
- It’s impossible. How? - asked Hara.
- You don’t need to delve into all the subtleties, leave it to me. I promise I won’t offend anyone of our race.
Hara and Eugene glanced at each other briefly, both with a frown were clearly dissatisfied with Lillian’s statement. They already had enough of one immortal, and now they had to create another one with their own hands? They could not agree with this in any way, but preferred to remain silent in order to live another day longer.
Lillian took out a small bottle the size of a bean from her deep cleavage, in which a red liquid was splashing.
- It’s the blood of an immortal. - her face was decorated with a bright smile. – Thanks to Tethys, we have this wonderful copy of the precious component. It remains only to carry out the ritual of conversion.
- How much effort will it take? - Eugene intervened, who already had a premonition that this would not end well.
- A lot. Very, very much. But aren’t you willing to make some sacrifices for the welfare of future generations of witches? Lillian asked with a smile, amused by the dissatisfaction of those present.
Only she knew that it didn’t matter if the witches agreed to her terms or not, she would force them. Every. She won’t give them a chance to go against her until they fulfill their role in her game.
She plunged the bottle deeper into her cleavage again and hurried out of the coven, leaving the witches to digest the information they had heard.
Quiet sighs were heard from every corner, the witches were finally able to breathe a sigh of relief after such an intense council, which truly broke the records of their supreme witch’s past statements.
But no one talked aloud, because no matter what thoughts each of those present carried, it was now unclear who could be trusted and who could not. And only unanimously everyone was sure that Tethys should be kept aside after she provided Lillian with a fragment of Raphael’s blood.
Eugene, quickly got up and remembered that she had another urgent important matter, hurried out of the room.
Her head was bursting at the seams from how much she had to think about and take into account in order not to make a mistake.
Running out into the street, hiding from prying eyes, she opened the portal, clearly imagining the final destination.
It was a small tavern on the outskirts of Lourdes, which was kept by her good friend, therefore, it was not difficult for her to find out the personal data of a recently registered guest.
She climbed the stairs to the second floor and without knocking, opened the lock with a spell. A loud click of the lock alerted the guest about the intrusion and he rolled off the bed, grabbed his wand and threw a binding spell into it, to which Eugene was already ready and immediately repelled it.
- I’m not your enemy! - she held up her hands.
- Who the fuck are you? - the man hissed, glaring at her angrily, ignoring her gesture.
- You’re here because of Thea, aren’t you? - her voice was quiet and calm, but it affected the man like thunder and he immediately hardened even more.
- Where is she? How do you know her? - his wand, pointed at her, glowed with light, signaling that he was ready to use magic in the next second if her answer did not suit him.
- You should calm down. Your presence here poses a very big threat to her. Can I create a barrier around you?
She waved her wand in the air, asking for permission, but the man did it himself, completely enveloping himself in a concealing barrier.
- And now I’m listening carefully. – he said coldly.
- I’m her mentor, I’m teaching her how to use magic. My name is Eugene. - she smiled.
- What kind of nonsense? Thea has no magic. – he hissed.
- If it wasn’t before, it is now. Everything has changed in the time that you haven’t seen her. And if you don’t help her, your mother will kill her.
Terrence’s frown deepened, his nostrils flared as well as his chest, boiling with anger. He had already realized that his mother did not have any kind feelings for his sister and he assumed that she could be dangerous for her, but he did not think that he would come to the point of wanting to kill her.
- How can I believe you? - he asked.
- Let me touch you. - She came over and touched his arm as he nodded his agreement.
Her visions were spontaneous, not at will, but fortunately now pictures and images immediately flashed before her eyes, reading him like an open book.
- The magic in your family is weakening. – she said.
- This is not news. Rumors about this have been going around for a long time. - he replied, not satisfied with her answer.
- I’m saying this because your father and mother are not connected magically, so there is no maintenance of the flow of magic. This is the reason for the weakening. Your father, like a puppet doll, does not see the problem, so until he admits to himself, your family is doomed to the loss of magic. - she declared, making him tense up. - But I can help you.
She watched as Terrence was rushing around in search of the right solution, as if he doubted whether to believe or not the woman who suddenly burst into his room in the middle of the night.
- How can you solve this? - he finally gave up.
- It’s simple. Sever all ties with this family on a mental level. Renounce them and promise that only Thea will be your family from now on. We need to perform the rite if you’re ready.
- Just to give up the family? I don’t need to communicate with them? – he asked uncomprehendingly.
- No, your magic streams will be completely cut off from them and isolated. If they strengthen their power, you will get nothing more from them. But also vice versa, you won’t lose your magic because of them.
- Then why should Thea stay in this relationship?
- Because it has never been interconnected with you and it will help you to powered by her and become stronger. - she smiled.
- You mean I’m going to powered off her like a parasite? I am categorically against it. I don’t need any magical connections with her. – he was indignant and Eugene could not be moved by this concern of her brother for her sister.
- And yet I insist that it be so. She will need your help soon and a weak worthless boy will only get in her way.
She saw him start up and almost hissed in anger at her. Such a vulnerable boy with hurt pride. But as quickly as he flared up, he immediately cooled down and calmed down.
- I don’t want you to break my connection with my family. – he resisted. – Is there another way?
- You’re so stubborn! – she was indignant, indignant. – I can try to connect you with Thea, but can you withstand two connections at once? Won’t it destroy you?
- Do what you have to do! - Terrence said uncompromisingly. – I’m not as weak as you think.
Eugene chuckled kindly at his statement before getting down to business.
- I don’t promise that your magic won’t run out after a while, but it won’t disappear forever – that’s for sure!
After the ritual was over, Terrence looked at Eugene, expecting her to say something about the ritual, but instead her words were more shocking to him than what he was waiting for.
- You were born the second, despite the fact that everyone considers you the first son of Lillian. - She smiled at Terrence’s shocked face, who couldn’t figure out how she knew what no one but him and his mother knew.
- I saw it in those visions you showed me earlier. - she continued. – Thea’s father was an exceptional womanizer, and your mother was in search of a man who would help her climb the ladder of power. She hid your elder sister from the eyes of the king until the last, presenting you as his heir, until one day his lawful wife gave birth to a girl, Thea.
- Is that all you can say?
He was hurt that Eugene read him and his family like an open book, but the witch was not offended by this and continued.
- One day you went to the fair with your mother and got lost. Then you accidentally caught the eye of the king and queen, who were also there. And although the king tried not to show in front of his wife that you are her son, she understood everything by your appearance alone, since you are exceptionally similar to your father.
- This is just your guess. – he protested.
- Despite that, she was fascinated by you. That’s why you later crossed paths with her more than once. She called you Ren.
Hearing this nickname, his heart ached painfully, and his brows furrowed even more. Only he knew that the former queen called him that, everyone else shortened his name to Terry. Just like the exceptional Thea, she also called him Ren. After these words, he no longer doubted the words of the witch, accepting the fact of her visionary talent.
- You were attached to her even more than to your own mother, because she was kind to you and caring. That was what you were missing, because your mother gave birth to you to cement a relationship with the king and you know it. But it’s worth noting, she also loves you in her own way.
- How much have you seen? - he asked, fearing that she would find out what he had been hiding so carefully all this time.
