Chapter 402: 402: Unexpected Changes (1)

One of the little details and tips the Mad Scientist wrote down in the book of Eternal Mind Zoo was that if he was the last thing a beast saw before he killed it, it would make it easier for him to drag out its Will for two different reasons.

Fear and Fury.

If he made a beast be fearful of him before killing it, the Will of the beast would be fearful toward him and would not resist when he attempted to pull it into his body.

And if the beast died with fury and vengeance, and he was the cause of it, the Will of the beast would most likely not resist getting pulled into his sea of consciousness because it would want to kill him.

Basically, the Mad Scientist advised that when killing a beast, he should ensure that the beast saw him last.

Even though he was wearing a mask, his eyes were more than enough for the Will of a beast to recognize him.

He also knew that he was overdoing it since a gnawer could not pose any threat to him no matter what, but he was learning and practicing with the technique, so he had to do everything the right way to understand it better.

After making sure that the demonic rat was dead, his eyes flashed and ethereal black translucent chains grew from his forehead.

The chains moved and grew, then they pierced into the corpse of the gnawer.

Simon felt a strange sensation when this happened, then he felt the chains latch onto something and the feeling was similar to what the Mad Scientist described.

It felt like he was holding the gnawer itself, and he could even hear squeaking sounds in his mind.

The squeaking sounds were filled with shock and disbelief, but Simon did not care.

The more time he wasted not pulling out the Will of the gnawer, the more of its Will would disperse into the world.

This was also one of the little things he skimmed through when he first read about the technique in the library.

The weaker a beast’s Will, the quicker it would disperse into the world after its death.

So, Simon knew that he had to be quick since the Will of a gnawer was very weak.

A few seconds later, the ethereal black chains pulled out something from the gnawer’s corpse, and it was an ethereal figure of the gnawer.

The remaining gnawers squeaked in fear when they saw this, and the demon dog also barked and growled as it watched Simon.

They couldn’t understand what Simon was doing, but their instincts told them that this was wrong on a whole different level.

Only the abyssal grass cutter did not make a sound, but it was constantly moving its head and legs.

Despite it not making a sound, it also knew that what Simon was doing was wrong and it was wary of him.

Meanwhile, Simon completely tuned out all the noise and pulled the Will of the gnawer into his sea of consciousness.

It tried to resist, but it was like a newborn baby to him so it was helpless.

Once it entered his sea of consciousness, he also went into his sea of consciousness to complete the process.

However, the moment he entered, he was not surprised when he saw that the Will of the gnawer was trembling in fear inside his sea of consciousness.

There was no need for him to fight and defeat the Will in order to subdue because it had already been subdued.

How could the Will of a mere Lesser Demonic Beast and a demonic rat at that, hope to withstand the pressure of his sea of consciousness?

Not only was his sea of consciousness far too powerful for the gnawer to even make an attempt to resist, his sea of consciousness was also unique.

Simon stood before the gnawer which was floating above the black sea with its tail, body, and head lowered, making it seem like it was bowing.

Simon placed his hand under it, observed it for a few seconds, then he waved his hand and a fist sized ball of water rose from his sea.

He looked at it, then he began tracing his fingers over the ball of water.

After nearly four minutes, he finally drew the full formation.

The ball of black water was no more, and what was floating in front of him was the formation of the Mad Scientist.

It was completely black, and its appearance made the gnawer tremble.

It felt threatened, but there was nothing it could do.

It did not have the courage or the ability to move under the pressure of Simon’s sea of consciousness.

Simon waved his hand, and the formation moved and fused with the Will of the gnawer.

The moment he did this, the gnawer trembled, and something which Simon did not expect began to happen.

Normally, the Will of any demonic beast is red because their sea of consciousness is also red, but the moment the black enslavement formation touched the Will of the gnawer, it changed.

Its appearance was now black, and its presence became more solid, it became slightly larger, and he was shocked when he saw that the Will of the gnawer was more powerful than before.

It was not a massive increase, only about 50% more powerful than before.

However, this was shocking to Simon because the Mad Scientist never mentioned this in the book.

After the transformation, the gnawer stood properly and looked at him without fear in his eyes.

This was to be expected since the enslavement formation was meant to not only enslave a demonic beast but to also fuse the Will of the demonic beast with that of the master.

The formation was crucial because without it, the Will of the demonic beast would disperse and corrupt the sea of consciousness of a demon.

However, what the enslavement formation also does is to make the Will of a demonic beast a puppet.

The demonic beast’s Will would not be able to do any other thing unless he ordered it to and it would just be floating within or on his sea of consciousness.

However, when Simon looked into the eyes of the gnawer, he could see that the gnawer seemed to have retained its will.
