Chapter 406: 406: Improving The Mind Wave Technique

The next thing Simon did after making sure that his mind had no issues was to transfer the beast corpses and the cages into his spatial ring.

After cleaning up his room, he looked outside his window and saw that it was getting dark.

"I guess classes must be over by now."

He released a deep breath, then he sat on his bed, removed his mask and placed it beside him on the bed.

He placed his hands behind him and leaned back while looking at the ceiling of his room.

The Eternal Mind Zoo technique went a lot better than he expected.

The danger he expected was absent, and the high expenditure of mental energy he expected was also absent.

He thought he would have to use a lot of his mental energy to subdue the beast Wills, but at the end of the day, the only stages that made him use ’a lot’ of mental energy were the chains he manifested to pull out the Wills of the beasts and the mental energy he used to create the formation.

He still had more than enough mental energy and he still had time before the following day came.

"Eternal Mind Maze would definitely require a lot of mental energy, so, I guess I’ll learn the Mind Wave technique."

"It shouldn’t take long."

After resting for about five minutes, he started going through the book on the Mind Wave technique.

Compared to the Mind Spear technique, the Mind Wave technique was a little bit complicated and if not for the fact that its attack power and effects were weak, it would be in the ranks of an intermediate technique based on its complexity.

However, as Simon went through the Mind Wave technique, he realized that it was complex for no reason.

The Mind Wave technique required one to cause a disturbance to their sea of consciousness, thereby causing waves to ripple on its surface.

After this, one would then need to project these waves into the real world with their intent/will, and then it would travel to its target.

But Simon could see the limitations of this technique.

The first and biggest limitation was the distance.

The Mind Wave from this book was severely limited by the distance it could travel.

The distance a Mind Wave could travel was too short, and if the target was too far away, the Mind Wave would vanish.

The target had to be at most five meters away from him for it to successfully work, and though he could use more mental energy to make it travel further, it would at most be ten meters before it dissipates.

It was not just worth it.

He decided to make a few changes to the technique, and the most important change was the introduction of what he called a Link.

To enable the Mind Wave to travel a lot further than normal, Simon planned on creating a link that would connect him to the barrier of his target’s sea of consciousness.

Through this link, the waves in his sea of consciousness could then travel from his sea of consciousness to the barrier of his target’s sea of consciousness.

As long as the link was present, the waves would be able to reach the target without dissipating.

He knew that there were a few minor tweaks he’d have to make.

For example, how fast would the link be?

Because no wise enemy would see a rope or a pipe moving toward their heads and allow it to touch them.

The link had to be fast, or it had to be very difficult to see and perceive.

There’s also the question of the structure of the link. Would it be like a tunnel for the waves through?

Or would it be like a rope for the waves to travel on?

How sturdy would the links have to be?

Simon thought of all these questions and more when he thought about the changes he planned on making to the Mind Wave technique.

And from what he could see, he might end up making an advanced grade mental technique.

A smile could not help but appear on Simon’s lips as he thought about all of these.

For some reason, creating techniques, improving techniques, and even learning new techniques gave him a strange sense of joy and accomplishment he could not describe.

He always felt like this in his past life whenever he learned a new sword skill, whenever he created a new sword skill, and whenever he modified a new sword skill.

In his past life, 99% of his focus when it came to his skill set was on the sword, but in this life, he had a feeling that he would keep on having this feeling because he was focusing on many other paths now.

’The Mind Path, Fist Path, Chaos Rune Path, Elemental Path, Energy Control Path, and the Sword Path.’

He looked down as he thought about all the paths he had knowingly and unknowingly stumbled upon and decided to focus on all because of a pair of black wrappings.

’I wonder... Could this have been one of the reasons why the Chaos Wraps does not allow one to wield another weapon aside from the Chaos Blade?’

Simon immediately shook his head and denied this thought.

’Wrong.’

’If the intention of Hell’s Sword Daemon when he created the Chaos Wraps is to make the owner of the Chaos Wraps to focus on other paths aside from the weapon paths, then the Chaos Blade would not exist.’

’But it’s because I’m in the Shadowgrave Clan and because using the Chaos Blade in the Shadowgrave Clan would most likely lead to my death.’

’If I was a wanderer that could roam the demon realm and see the various tribes, clans, and kingdoms, I would have definitely focused on the sword path and would not bother with the Mind Path, Fist Path, and the Chaos Rune Path.’

’I would have learned the Elemental Path because I’m a demon, but I’d have centered it around the sword.’

He looked up, then he chuckled with a wry smile as he looked at the ceiling of his room.

"I guess even in tough times, one can still find benefits and blessings."
