Chapter 495: 495: Where Do You Think You’re Going?

First Blade could not understand how Simon was standing behind him when he had been keeping a portion of his senses on Simon from the very beginning.

He looked at the second Simon who was standing in the exact same spot where Lucien was thrown from, then his eyes flickered with a surprised light when he saw this second Simon dissipate into a black mist.

’An illusion?’

He turned and looked back at Simon.

"You have illusion abilities?"

Simon did not respond.

First Blade looked down, and his eyes flickered with a surprised and baffled light when he saw that Simon was a holding a sword... A black sword with a crimson edge to be exact.

"A sword? You use a sword? Then why are you training under Ormon? What’s going on?"

First Blade had so many questions, and for the first time in a long time, his experience could not help him to discover the answers to these questions.

’What sort of illusion ability did he use on me? I’m a Greater Demon and I’ve faced my fair share of demons with illusion abilities, but that... that was on a whole different level.’

’If I had not reacted fast enough, if I had not listened to my instincts... And if I had only two arms instead of four, there’s no way I would still be alive by now.’

’And what of that sword. Why is he using a sword? Why do I feel an immense threat coming from the sword?’

’What is that sword?’

The more questions that appeared in First Blade’s head, the darker his expression became.

Simon distanced himself from the old Morveth.

’I knew there was a high chance of failure, but it still sucks not being able to kill him. What a sturdy mind.’

Simon landed on his feet, then he looked at Lucien who was laying on the floor with a stunned expression.

"What are you doing?! Grab the monkey and move away from him!"

Simon’s shout brought Lucien out of his stunned state.

He realized that this was an opportunity, so he reacted quickly.

The Winter Monkey was at arm’s length, so he grabbed the Winter Money and placed his hand on the frozen sea in order to control the ice.

However...

"I don’t think so."

First Blade’s cold voice drifted across the cold world, and Lucien’s expression drastically changed when he saw a silver sword swinging down at him.

The speed of the sword was fast and it carried a pressure that made it difficult for him to think.

’I’m going to die.’

Fortunately for the Frostborn prodigy, he didn’t die.

Clang!

Simon suddenly appeared in the path of First Blade’s sword like a whirlwind and blocked it with the chaos sword.

"Urghh!"

Simon groaned as he tried staying on his feet, but First Blade was just too strong for him to handle.

He was sent flying in no time.

First Blade looked at Simon with a stunned expression.

"How did you get here so fast?" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Simon obviously did not answer. Instead, he looked at Lucien.

"MOVE YOU FOOL!" Simon roared.

The Frostborn prodigy reacted immediately.

A dome of ice covered both him and the Winter Monkey, then a pillar of ice shot out of the ground and sent the ice dome flying.

However, when Simon saw the direction in which the dome was flying to, he could not help but shake his head with a slight curl of his lips.

"Damn brat. Still trying to escape with the Winter Monkey even in this situation."

A runic circle suddenly appeared beneath Simon’s feet the moment his feet touched the ground after being sent flying by First Blade’s attack.

Boom!

Whoosh!

The runic circle glowed, and it released a powerful gust of wind that sent Simon flying high up into the sky.

Another runic circle appeared below his feet, and another powerful gust of wind sent Simon flying, and this time around, he flew in the direction of Lucien and the Winter Monkey.

When First Blade saw this, he realized how Simon was able to block his sword despite being far away.

"He’s already a chaos rune master?"

The old Morveth frowned.

Meanwhile, Lucien’s expression became dark when he saw that Simon was approaching him and the Winter Monkey.

"What are you doing?!" He could not help but shout.

Simon gave a harmless smile.

"I’m just following my fellow teammates. Lead the way, and I’ll follow."

’This bastard.’

A vein popped in Lucien’s forehead and he could not help but grit his teeth.

He was hoping to use this opportunity to escape from Simon and First Blade, and he thought it would work because of how fast they were moving.

He believed that Simon would not be able to catch up to them in the air, and the only person he would have to worry about is First Blade.

However, he was hoping that First Blade would choose to prioritise staying with Simon with his grievous injuries rather than chase them.

Unfortunately for him and the Winter Monkey, Simon was a cunning bastard and was a chaos rune master at the same time!

When the Winter Monkey saw Simon flying, he could not help but curse all of Simon’s ancestors because Simon lied to him.

The reason Simon gave for not helping like he promised was that he could not fly.

But here he was, flying in the sky like a Greater Demon.

The ice dome fell to the ground, and Lucien gritted his teeth.

He raised his hand, and numerous ice pillars of different sizes rose from the frozen sea and a curved ice track was formed above the ice pillars.

The track was connected from one ice pillar to the other, and the dome started rolling on the ice track and moved like a sports car.

Simon’s eyes flickered at this ingenuity, but that didn’t stop him.

The chaos formation on the bottom of his feet glowed and released more wind.

Whoosh!

His speed increased, then he caught up to the rolling ice sphere and sat on it with his legs crossed.

Lucien’s lips twitched violently when he saw this, and he wanted to curse out loud in anger and frustration.

However, his expression drastically changed when he saw First Blade standing a few meters in front of them with a cold expression.

"And where do you think you’re going?"

The old demon’s words sent a shiver across Lucien’s spine.
