A-Xuan smiled as he leaned back in his chair. He knows Naethan will go to Maddox to have him killed during their scavenging missions for the guns. He had no intention of forgiving Maddox, that sociopath.

He knew he would feel more crushed if he believed that he had feelings for him. The worst person in all of this is Maddox. Maddox had been in love with the original forever, but he never told him his feelings.

When he started dating Naethan, he saw he was being manipulated but said nothing. While he was being used, he was thinking of a way to kill him. Not killing Naethan, but the original.

To him, if the person he loves doesn’t care for him back, he shouldn’t live. The problem is that with the society they lived in, he couldn’t get away with murder, but after the apocalypse, he could. So, when Naethan came to see him with his plan, he accepted.

He knew the original would never love him, so what was the point of him living? Maddox loves himself more than anyone, in that way, he and Naethan are the same.

Naethan is so narcissistic that he figured if Maddox was angry at the original, it was because he was in love with him. After they had the original killed, Naethan thought that since Maddox will kill for him, he was worthy.

He genuinely fell in love with him because he felt that he worshiped him, and that he’s been doing it even when he was with the original.

Maddox saw that he loved him, so he was content. As long as the person he loves loves him back, then he’s fine. But god forbid the person he loves, loves someone else.

A-Xuan just wants him to suffer more until he kills him. He’ll just let him have a taste of what it would be like to be with him, then pull the rug from under him. He heard Maddox enter the living room at night.

He didn’t think his husband would join him, but he did. He knew Emerys was his Gege, because of his eyes. He doesn’t know why, but he’s always in love with his eyes, and this time it was so much more than usual.

His husband is already shameless, and he lets him get away with a lot, but now it’s going to be worse. He already thinks he tricked him into living with him. Anyway, Gege lets him get away with a lot, too.

He’ll give Maddox and Naethan space to make a plan and end them at the right point. They’re really a match made in heaven. I won’t let any of them go.

Ten days passed, and during that time A-Xuan was extremely busy. He always worked, he was either at the lab or the medical building.

He could’ve just used the original’s formula, but he wanted to do a vaccine that would stop any future plant-related virus. Ten years after the vaccine was created another virus spread, but before someone made a vaccine it killed half the population.

If he can save people from future pain and death, of course, he will. He’s finally ready now all he needs is the processing equipment.

He can’t wait for tomorrow, he’s been wanting to kill Maddox and Naethan since day one. He could’ve just killed them and gotten away with it, but it’s so much more fun to play with them.

He could see every day the rise of Naethen’s confidence and Maddox’s anger. No one could recognize him anymore, and users would fight not to be on his team during scavenging.

Maddox was always angry and impatient, the moment he felt most a peace was when he killed zombies. A-Xuan expected nothing less from Maddox.

Naethan was in his room, sitting on his bed. The closer they get to the scavenging mission, the happier he feels.

He worked so hard since the apocalypse to be at the top, and he was, but in just one-day A-Xuan took it all away.

But now he’s glad everything happened the way it did, or maybe he wouldn’t have the formula for the vaccine.

He was worried that A-Xuan would spread it to the entire base, but after he talked to him, he said he would keep it secret until he gets the processing equipment.

Even if he’s been acting differently, he still listened to him on that, so he’s satisfied. Even the fact that he’s with Emerys couldn’t spoil that.

Every time he would meet with Emerys when he was the head, he would try to get close to him, but he would be like a wall of ice. But now every time he would see them together, Emerys looked like a fool in love.

The worst in all of that is that A-Xuan looked the same. He thought he would only love him, but he clearly loves Emerys more than he ever loved him. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

He felt troubled by that, but then he remembered that he’ll die soon, and that Maddox loves him.

He never considered Maddox because his family history isn’t as prestigious as A-Xuan’s. But now all of that doesn’t matter, so he decided to give him a chance. Maddox cares for him so much he’s willing to kill for him.

He knows he can’t get rid of A-Xuan without help, and that was even before he knew he was an ability user.

Even after he took his place as the head, he thought that regardless of what, he was superior to him because he has a healing ability. He also has the strongest one out of all the healers, at least he had.

When he heard about A-Xuan healing eight users without rest, he was beyond angry. He is more powerful, smarter, and even seduced Emerys. It’s like he’ll never be good enough compared to him.

After hearing all his prowess all week, he was indeed more determined to have him murdered. The whole base worships him like he is a deity. Khal even defended him and said that he was wrong to try to have him slain.

The way he talked about him was like how a boy would talk about his older brother. He admires him and so do all the ability users. The mundanes already loved him since he changed the way he did things.

He thought the users would be angry and realize that only with him would they be able to be at the top, but they’re all humbled somehow.

They kept talking about how because they’re users, they have more responsibility and shouldn’t take advantage of mundanes.

Is this a joke? They’re users, they are better than mundanes, and they should know it. Once he gets rid of him, things will go back to the way they used to.

He looked up when Maddox entered. He smiled.

"Hey."

Maddox leaned against the wall, facing him.

"What do you want? I’m busy."

Naethan could feel how angry Maddox’s been lately, but he figured it’s because he felt uneasy for him.

"I just wanted to know if you found a solution against A-Xuan’s force field."

He first proposed to have him locked up in the hangar, but Maddox replied he could take care of even fifty zombies. He then suggested that they should just shoot him, but apparently, he has a force field too.

The more he heard about his ability, the angrier he got, but Maddox said he would think of a solution.

"I’ll drown him in a bubble of water. His healing, ice, or air ability are all useless against drowning."

Naethan grinned mischievously and walked to him. He caressed his chest.

"Then he’ll finally be gone."

Maddox watched as he smiled seductively. He’s not blind. He knows what he wishes from him, but he can’t. To him, it’s always been clear that if A-Xuan doesn’t love him, he should die, but now he feels differently.

The simple act of A-Xuan holding his hand and being worried about him made him addicted, and he wants more of that. Seeing him acting that way with Emerys kills him.

He’s always been able to contain his feelings. That’s why they were still best friends, but he can’t anymore.

The fact that A-Xuan is still friendly to him and still checks on him after every scavenging makes it worst. Every time it happens, he thinks, what if he came to me as my boyfriend?

A-Xuan’s been closer and a better friend, but he doesn’t want that. He wants him as his lover, but to have that, he has to live.

If he has to force him, then he will. It’s his fault he should’ve confessed before Emerys got his hands on him. But that’s okay. Tomorrow they’ll be together forever.

He doesn’t intend to kill him anymore. He’ll take him away, so they can live together. He realized the problem was the surrounding people.

Of course, they’re going to fall for A-Xuan too, so he needs to lock him somewhere where no one will find them.

That way, he’ll only see him. At that thought, Maddox smiled and Naethan thinking he was finally ready moved his hand south. Maddox grabbed his wrist and threw it away.

The only reason he’s pretending to be behind his plan is that he wants to kill Naethan. He doesn’t deserve to live after he decided to kill A-Xuan just for his place.

A-Xuan’s better than him in every way. Does he think anyone is going to want him back as the head after A-Xuan is gone with him? He won’t forgive him for trying to kill the one he loves.

Tomorrow he’ll be gone and thereafter, he’ll spend the rest of his life with A-Xuan. He already found a house and everything is prepared for them.

He knows that A-Xuan might be difficult in the beginning, so he put a lock on the door for when he has to scavenge. But he’s sure that after a while he’ll realize that he is the only one for him. Maddox left without looking back.
