The cannon fodder's revenge (BL)
Chapter 26 - 3.1 The cold prince
When A-Xuan opened his eyes, he saw a hand heading for his face. Before he could stop it, he was slapped. He felt his ear buzz and his eyes turned red as tears fell on his face.
What the fuck is this? He looked at the person in front of him with a shocked expression. The crew and the director, who usually enjoyed bullying and seeing A-Xuan be bullied, felt pity for him.
The young man’s cheeks were red because of the slap, and his golden eyes sparkled like stars. His long eyelashes fluttered as he forced himself to stop crying. His lips were blood red because of the force he used to bite them.
Jing Chao looked at him and felt happy, but he still put on an act and yelled, "I used my name and reputation to get you this role, and you want to leave when we’re not done shooting? How selfish can you be? I did you a favor when I didn’t have to, and this is how you thank me?"
A-Xuan let go of his bottom lip and bowed his head. Anger flashed through his eyes. You son of a bitch! You dared to slap me! You’re dead.
At this moment, he just wants to kill Jing Chao, but he can’t get out of character, and he can’t even deactivate the pain sensory in front of everyone. A-Xuan lifted his head and wiped his tears clumsily.
He said in a trembling voice, "I’m sorry, you’re right. You got me this role when before all the offers I got were of background actors. I won’t leave and go through with the shooting of Spring Kings, even if everyone hates me and those rumors keep spreading. I..."
Before he could finish, he started to cry uncontrollably. He seemed to have a panic attack, and his chest kept going up and down. The whole crew felt guilty, they knew full well what they were doing, but seeing the result of it was heartbreaking.
Usually, A-Xuan wouldn’t react like he felt nothing, he was always cold and unresponsive, so they all felt that it never got to him.
A-Xuan calmed himself and said in a soft voice, "I won’t leave, don’t worry, even if you treat me differently than when we were friends."
A-Xuan wiped his tears and left, but before that, he turned and added while new tears fell, "Next time you have something to say to me, please don’t slap me. I get panic attacks every time it happens."
He left and walked to his dressing room, his assistant following behind. The whole crew watched his departing back, feeling extremely guilty.
It was clear from what happened that he was scared of pain, so they couldn’t even imagine what terrible thing he must have gone through to become this way.
Jing Chao looked around, feeling the shift in the crew. He looked at them threateningly, and they all went back to work. Chao sneered. Do you think shedding a few tears is going to stop me from destroying you?
A-Xuan entered his dressing room and sat on the chair in front of the mirror. His assistant Wan Qian walked in, and A-Xuan looked at her through the mirror and ordered, "Leave."
Wan Qian was shocked. A-Xuan has never spoken to her like that. She would do whatever she wants, and he would just stay quiet like he couldn’t care less. There’s a reason why his fans would call him the cold prince. His cold attitude makes it seem like he thinks he is above everyone. While his fans love that, it’s clear that Jing Chao doesn’t, and she doesn’t either.
She knows that Jing Chao rewards anyone who pushes A-Xuan to the abyss, so she approached with a smile and sneered:
"A-Xuan, this is all your fault if you..."
She stopped mid-sentence when A-Xuan turned and looked at her. His eyes were still red from crying, and his aura was frightening.
His cold eyes looked at her like she was a dead person, and he ordered with venom:
"Get the fuck out!"
Wan Qian felt her legs tremble, and the need to kneel and beg for forgiveness. She took two shaky steps back and ran, closing the door behind her.
Before she could, A-Xuan met the eyes of a man in the corner, watching with a smile and his eyes flashing with interest. The man was tall, with dark hair and grey eyes.
He had an aquiline nose and thin lips. When he smiled, you could see two dimples. When the door closed, he tapped on the interface on his forearm.
He’s grateful CF is under his control. He first deactivated the pain sensory and then put the body in its most optimal condition.
When he was done, he looked up, admiring his reflection. He had long phoenix eyes and narrow, thin eyebrows. His raven-black hair made his golden eyes shine like stars.
He carried an aquiline nose that complemented his prominent cheekbones. His pale skin was like the silk of white rose petals, making his lips redder. The difference between now and before the modification was huge.
The original had been feeling depressed and couldn’t sleep, so his physique reflected that. Furthermore, now with A-Xuan’s soul in his body, he is even more gorgeous. He closed his eyes and read the complete information about this world.
The body was 24 years old, known as Chen Daoming. Daoming was a talented and famous actor. When he was 15, he lost his father in a car accident and found out that he actually died with a woman in the car.
His father had lost his wife very early on and started to date different women. Daoming was surprised since he never told him anything about his romantic life.
He decided not to pry into it since his father didn’t want him to know. After the burial, he saw in his testament that he left him all the shares he owned from the multiple companies he invested in.
Having his financial future secured, Daoming decided to go for his dream and become an actor. He graduated from a prestigious university and entered the acting world very smoothly after signing with Daquan Entertainment.
Daoming filmed multiples well-received tv shows as the male lead and gained fame and a lot of fans. They loved his princely aura, and they would all call him the cold prince since he wouldn’t show much emotion.
The only time they would see it was when he would be acting, and it just showed how overwhelmingly talented he was since he could slip in and out of a character effortlessly.
Daoming had always been shy and mild ever since he was a kid, but it appeared as aloofness. He never dared to say anything even when he faced the biggest injustices.
After a couple of years of being at Daquan entertainment, he saw that the roles he was receiving now were mostly background actors.
He felt very frustrated but didn’t dare to say anything after talking to his agent. His agent Zifeng Li would always pick for him the roles he thought were most suited, and for the first two years, he did an excellent job.
After those two years, he would only offer him roles with only a few lines, telling him that it was best to just take it.
Daoming trusted him since he thought he was looking out for him. After playing multiple background roles, he finally caught a big break.
Jing Chao, an old classmate, told him that his legal guardian’s son owned Daquan Entertainment and that he would talk to him so they could be on the same TV show together.
The agency was about to start producing a new wuxia show called Spring Kings with the film emperor Li Daquan as the male lead. Daoming entered the cast with Jing Chao as one of the main characters and felt very grateful to him.
During the filming of the show, his life became a nightmare. The whole crew, the director, his agent, and even his assistant treated him like trash.
The crew looked down on him after they heard a rumor that he got the role after sleeping with one of the higher-ups. The director would always yell and berate him during the filming of his scenes even when they were executed flawlessly.
Despite his shyness, when Daoming was acting, he was like a different person and would lose himself in the role.
He hated that he was shy and a pushover; that’s why he fell in love with acting so he could be someone else even for just a few hours. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Despite everyone only treating him correctly when Li Daquan was on set, he persisted because he felt grateful that Jing Chao got him the part so he suffered in silence.
He thought that after the filming of Spring Kings was done, he would get out of his contract with Daquan Entertainment.
His contract only had six months left, and he thought that with the background roles he got, it wasn’t like he was making them any money and that it would be easy to get out of it.
He went to work every day on time and kept silent despite the bullying even when every day there were new stories about him.
They were articles saying that despite being nicknamed the cold prince, there was nothing princely about him since he got every one of his roles by sleeping with directors.
Daoming finally reached his breaking point when even Jing Chao started to follow the crew’s lead and started to look down on him as well.
Daoming couldn’t handle it anymore and went to see the director of Daquan Entertainment for the dissolution of his contract.
When he arrived in the office, he saw Li Daquan. He still asked him, but the film Emperor immediately refused and yelled at him for being unprofessional.
Li Daquan was the president of Daquan Entertainment and after wrapping Spring Kings, he planned on retiring from the acting world and focusing on running the company.
He knew that if they were to recast Daoming, it would cost his company millions since they had already shot more than half of the show and he was a lead character.
Li Daquan couldn’t understand why he would say that he feels uncomfortable on set when every time he was on set everyone would treat Daoming extremely well, including Jing Chao who was nice enough to get him the role.
Daoming left feeling helpless and the next day went back on set. As soon as he arrived, Jing Chao slapped him. He was shocked and couldn’t understand why he would do that.
Jing Chao yelled at him for putting him in a difficult situation after he put his reputation on the line to get him this part.
He felt like his decision to quit the show and the company when they were halfway through shooting reflected badly on him.
Daoming felt humiliated for being slapped and yelled at in front of the whole crew. He didn’t say anything and left for his dressing room to put on his make-up and costume.
After that day, he was even more depressed but still did his job professionally, feeling that Jing Chao was right despite the slapping incident.
A month before the end of the shooting, Daoming became friends with one of the actors named Muyun Sheng. Muyun Sheng pursued him and Daoming felt touched by his patience and care.
He accepted to go to the Spring Kings wrapping party with him and they ended up staying in the hotel together.
The next day, when he woke up, the presidential room was packed with paparazzi taking photos and videos. They kept asking intrusive questions and Daoming ran from the hotel with a sheet around his body.
Before leaving in the morning, Muyun took all his clothes and no one was willing to help him. After that, he secluded himself at home, not wanting to see anyone.
Jing Chao called him saying he was worried and Daoming accepted to see him. He came to his house and laughed at him. That’s when he admitted that he was responsible for everything.
Turns out, the woman who died in the car crash with Daoming’s father was Jing Chao’s mother.
Jing Chao’s father had never told him the full circumstances of his mother’s death and killed himself after struggling with depression before he could. He only found out two years after university.
After investigating, he realized that Daoming was the son of his mother’s murderer. He felt betrayed by the fact that Daoming knew all along but never told him. He was even friendly to him and pretended to care about him.
When he saw how well his acting career was going, he decided to leave his agency and join Daquan Entertainment.
Before, he didn’t want to mix business with family since he started living with Daquan when his father passed away.
He started a relationship with Li Daquan, who was a flirt and let it slip that the two were involved.
The whole agency knew that Jing Chao was sleeping with the boss, so they did everything he asked. Daoming’s agent, Zifeng Li, agreed to every one of his demands and got him only background roles.
The filming crew knew that if they went after Daoming, they would get into Jing Chao’s good graces.
Jing Chao made Muyun Sheng seduce and sleep with Daoming the night of the wrapping party and brought the paparazzi to catch him in the act.
During the shooting of Spring Kings, rumors about Daoming spread everywhere and after seeing the result of the wrapping party, everybody believed them even more.
The few fans he had left abandoned him and Daquan Entertainment released him from his contract. When Jing Chao left, Daoming had a mental breakdown.
He went to his father’s room, lay on his bed, and closed his eyes after swallowing a considerable amount of pills. The staff found his body when they came to work the next day.
When the world heard about his death, they felt like he deserved it. Jing Chao was extremely happy and celebrated with Li Daquan in bed. Ever since the filming, they hadn’t had a chance to be intimate.
Li Daquan, who usually slept with different men even when they were together, stopped and they got into a serious relationship. With his help as the president of Daquan Entertainment, he became the prince of the acting world.
The fan loved the emperor and his prince to the point of worship. They lived happily ever after while Daoming died horribly when he had no idea Jing Chao was the son of the woman who died with his father in the first place.
When A-Xuan opened his eyes again, he smiled. Even if Jing Chao wasn’t his target, he was going to make him pay for slapping him, but now he’s going to make sure he dies.
After suffering so many painful deaths, A-Xuan is extremely scared of pain. Over the years, those deaths left a psychological shadow that he still can’t get rid of.
A-Xuan tapped on his forearm and linked CF to the security cameras on the set to receive every old and future recording. He put on his costume and went to get his hair and make-up done.
