The cannon fodder's revenge (BL)
Chapter 45 - 4.7 He’s always been there
A-Xuan’s head was down with a frown. Yan Wang looked at him with an amused smile. A-Xuan felt an invisible force pushing him, he tried to resist it, but the next second he was on Yan Wang’s lap, his arms circling him tightly in place.
A-Xuan looked at him with squinted eyes. Husband, I don’t like that trick of yours, knowing you, you’ll abuse it. Yan Wang said: "I don’t mind your reason for ending my slumber."
A-Xuan released a breath. Yan Wang smiled and caressed his cheek. His eyes for once weren’t cold; they were full of love and affection. A-Xuan was surprised. How could he develop so rapidly intense feelings like that?
Yan Wang understood his confusion. He brushed his cheek lightly like he was wiping a tear, and A-Xuan looked at him incredulously. Yan Wang smiled and watched as his eyes moistened.
A-Xuan said in a shaky voice: "Y-you were there, you were there the whole time."
Yan Wang nodded. A-Xuan said: "I felt it multiple times, but I didn’t dare to imagine you were there because it must’ve been so painful. You were there for 60 years seeing Yan Hao destroy everything you worked for."
Yan Wang held onto him tighter and said: "It was. But you were the only right thing he did. Now I realize that I was waiting on that window sill 60 years for you."
A-Xuan wrapped his arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. He can’t imagine how painful it must’ve been to see live everything he worked for being obliterated.
He felt someone around multiple times, but he thought maybe it was a lingering spirit, so he brushed it off.
Turns out it was his husband. He only felt contact with him once, but it was over so fast that he put it in the back of his head because it shook him deeply.
*Flashback.*
A-Xuan put his cloak and hood on and disappeared for Yan Wang’s imperial chambers. He entered and took his cloak off.
He sat next to him and just looked at him for a minute. He didn’t think it would be this hard to see his husband in this situation. He’s been doing it for ten days, so now he only had to withstand the 4 left.
He caressed his cheek. "I can’t wait for you to wake up. I didn’t think it would be this hard to see you like this every day."
A-Xuan unconsciously shed a tear and felt something brushing it off. He got up shocked and looked around frantically. Is he here? Has he been here the whole time?
Only his husband would do this, and he felt electricity when something brushed the tear off. A-Xuan looked around but couldn’t see anyone.
He sat down and whispered while watching Yan Wang’s body: "Of course, you’re not here. Maybe I want it so much that I imagined it."
"You haven’t; I’m here."
Yan Wang’s spirit said sitting in front of A-Xuan. He felt heartache for him when he saw him looking around for him. He can’t understand how he could catch feelings for him when they have never met or spoken.
But he can feel his deep love for him and he believes in it. Over the days, he started to have feelings for him too, he feels like they are meant to be together. Even when he turns into a human, he won’t let go of this person, ever.
He’ll just stay with him for his lifetime, and once he finds the right person to be the next king, he’ll go into a dark slumber and be with him in his next life.
*End of flashback.*
A-Xuan loosened his hold and looked into his eyes. Yan Wang smiled and asked: "Why do you have feelings for me when we’ve never met?"
We have met for 3 different lifetimes. In every life, I loved you more than the one before.
A-Xuan said as a matter of fact: "Because we’re meant to be. You’re my soulmate."
Yan Wang felt like those 60 years were worth it if it means having him in his life. Yan Wang kissed him passionately and intensely. It was like Yan Wang had been waiting for a lifetime to do this.
Yan Wang broke the connection and said: "And you’re mine."
A-Xuan smiled and leaned his forehead against Yan Wang’s. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the moment. Now he is sure that his husband must’ve been someone he saw before he was bound to the system.
Even when his body wasn’t functional, his spirit lingered, like he was waiting and watching over him.
A-Xuan pulled back and said in a commanding tone: "Deal with making the kingdom better, and I’ll deal with Yan Hao and his group of extremists."
Yan Wang had an amused smile as he said: "You know anyone who speaks to the king like that should be punished."
A-Xuan looked down and said pouting: "I thought we were partners."
Yan Wang lifted his head, gazing into his gold eyes, and said seriously: "We are, my love."
A-Xuan got up from his lap, and an invisible force pushed him back. Yan Wang squinted his eyes and asked: "Where do you think you’re going?"
A-Xuan had an amused smile on. It’s always like that; his husband can never bear to be away from him.
He wrapped his arms around his neck and caressed his nape. "Send people with me to pack up. I have a play to act with Yan Hao; he’ll probably find a way for me to take that amulet with me."
"That amulet will deplete your essence."
Yan Wang tightened his hold and said domineeringly: "I won’t accept it, I have to spend more than a lifetime with you."
A-Xuan said: "It won’t; what Yan Ning is receiving is poison. In less than a week, he’ll become human. Because of his father, he always thought he was meant to be king but to do that he needs to be the strongest in the kingdom. I’ll show him first what it’s like to be weak then I’ll kill him. I’ll kill every one of those radicals too and deal with those weak-minded council members. Yan Hao will see what it’s like to have no one under his control before he dies. Just deal with restoring the kingdom to what it was before."
Yan Wang said: "Okay, I trust you."
A-Xuan gave him a peck and left. Yan Wang watched his retreating back with a smile.
