Huang Xing was in the elevator headed to his office when he heard a familiar voice.

"Hey."

He looked around the moving elevator but he was the only one in it. Maybe I love him so much that I hear his voice in my head.

"You’re not hearing things it’s me. You can talk to me back."

Huang Xing was stunned, he tried talking in his head.

"Can you hear me?"

"I can."

Huang Xing asked:

"How did you do that?"

"I’m a mage I can tap into any witch’s mind."

Huang Xing got out and walked to his office.

"That’s incredible."

"I made this mind link so you can help me when I need you."

Huang Xing stilled.

"What’s wrong? What happened?"

"Nothing, nothing happened my love."

Huang Xing let out a breath.

"You have a plan?"

"I do, I’ll need you to do some things for me. It’s a lot so if you can’t d.."

Before A-Xuan finished he was cut.

"I’ll do anything you ask."

"Thank you."

"Your welcome baby. Go to sleep it’s late."

A-Xuan chuckled.

"I know, good night."

"Good night, I love you."

"I love you too."

Huang smiled and sat on his chair. He saw his brother and nephew talking, he knows they’re up to something. He can feel that A-Xuan somehow knows but he isn’t sure.

He is actually sure he knows but the doubt comes from the fact that he didn’t confront him.

Like when he asked him why he decided to sign up for Mystic Warfare he only mentioned wanting to meet his father like he already knew his mother was deceased.

He never said them he only said him. He spoke as if he already knew his identity.

Shouldn’t he be angry that I’m his uncle and I started this relationship knowing that?

With A-Xuan he couldn’t stop himself so even when he saw his birthmark and knew that he was his nephew who was abducted he still wanted him.

He’s always reasonable and has been able to put in a barrier when it’s wrong but with A-Xuan he isn’t and he can’t.

He is like a drug and he can’t live without him, it’s that simple. If he knows then he’s okay with it too. Huang Xing smiled as he made the schedule for tomorrow.

A-Xuan got up and walked to the bathroom. He woke up a little earlier than everyone and made breakfast for them.

When they smelled the food they came down excited.

"I made food for everyone, dig in."

Everyone thanked him and started to serve themselves. A-Xuan waved at Ming and he approached.

"I already made you a plate it’s all your favorites."

Ming looked at the plate and it was indeed all his favorites. He looked at A-Xuan feeling complicated.

Ever since that talk with his father, he feels like maybe they should both take his father down but the problem is if they do A-Xuan will be the king since he’s the eldest.

He worked too hard to let anyone take the throne so he’ll just kill A-Xuan and when he’s done winning the show he’ll make sure his father gets into an "accident".

Ming took the plate leaving without saying a word. A-Xuan looked at his back sadly and when he felt the cameraman filming he put on a smile.

The viewers could see that he was pretending and that he was sad about Ming’s behavior.

Their opinion of Ming was already low after the clip of A-Xuan saying he asked to be called your highness went viral but with that, it became worse.

Like always A-Xuan spent the day in his room and only went out to eat. When it was time for the dome he got dressed and left with the participants.

They sat in the tribune and A-Xuan looked at Huang Xing’s tribune. He said using the mind link:

"Can you choose Zhao Wei as my opponent?"

Huang Xing looked at his tribune and smiled.

"I will."

A-Xuan smiled and looked at the crowd. He needs to teach her a lesson. Multiple witches passed including Li Dagou. He won his battle but when he came out of the dome his face was white.

When A-Xuan’s name was announced after Zhao Wei’s everybody stood up and screamed his name.

A-Xuan left the tribune walking leisurely to the dome with a smile. Ming and the King looked at his back pleased.

When they reached the field the dome was activated trapping them both inside. The only way for the dome to go down is if a witch tap on the ground to yield but they never do.

It’s better to die in the dome than survive it, the outside is way more violent. Almost every witch who yielded ended up killing themselves because of the way they were treated after the show.

Over the years Mystic Warfare became a way of gauging a witch’s power and mental. They feel like if a witch yields then he or she doesn’t deserve to live.

Zhao Wei had her back to the king while A-Xuan could see him. Perfect.

"If I were you I would already yield."

Zhao Wei’s words were laced with contempt. A-Xuan looked at her up and down. She was taller and stronger than him.

The difference between the two was clear as day. A-Xuan released the shackles in his core and smiled sweetly at her. Her eyes opened wide and she took multiple steps backward flustered and breathing heavily.

The spectators in the stadium and at home couldn’t understand why she seemed so scared, especially with A-Xuan’s angelic smile. He looked like the most harmless witch in the realm.

Zhao Wei tried to tap the ground but she couldn’t, no matter how hard she tried her knees wouldn’t bend.

When she felt A-Xuan’s core’s power she almost suffocated. She knows full well that the only reason she can breathe now is that he toned it down.

After taking a few deep breaths she realized that everyone could hear what was happening in the dome so she decided to scream that she yields. She tried to open her mouth but couldn’t.

She looked at A-Xuan scared. He smiled and said:

"Ladies first."

Zhao Wei shook her head trying to scream but she still couldn’t. The spectators were getting impatient and screamed fight!

A-Xuan tapped her mind.

"If you don’t make the first move I’ll kill you."

Zhao Wei looked at him petrified. She took a deep breath calming herself again. She thought if I can distract him with something he’ll momentarily lose his hold on me and I’ll be able to yield.

There’s no way she’ll sacrifice herself in the dome. She took a breath and said:

"Further down you have the serpent, I’m the master he’s the servant."

Multiple pythons materialized. They hissed at her and all turned toward A-Xuan. They advanced standing tall.

A-Xuan stood there crossing his arms. The entire stadium and the viewers at home were scared to death for him. They all came to love this cute orphan and they don’t want him to die.

Half the stadium started to yell yield! When more and more witches joined in A-Xuan smiled and turned to look at them.

At that moment a Python closest to him use that opportunity to jump him. Everyone looked at the scene horrified.

A-Xuan turned and when the python was close to biting him he grabbed him underneath his head. He was still hissing, A-Xuan lifted him and met his eyes.

He said with a vicious smile:

"Python’s bite is oh so venomous turnaround and be generous."

The python stopped hissing and closed his mouth. A-Xuan gave him a peck on the nose and put him down. He waved over all the pythons and they turned to Zhao Wei and advanced toward her.

She looked at them frightened as she took a step back. She tried to scream again and yield but she couldn’t. She looked at A-Xuan pleadingly her eyes full of tears but he just looked back at her with a gentle smile.

She can’t understand why he’s so vicious to her. She’s done nothing to antagonize him, he can clearly take her down with something less brutal and nasty.

The next second the 10 pythons jumped her, when A-Xuan was sure they all bit her generously he waved his hand and they disappeared. A-Xuan walked to her looking at her sorry figure hunched on the ground.

She was bitten on the neck, arms, and legs and one even bit her face. She probably had 30 bites scattered over her body.

He knelt in front of her and said with a smile while caressing her hair gently:

"You shouldn’t blindly follow people’s suggestions, no matter who they are."

Zhao Wei looked at him between sobs understanding why he did what he did. A-Xuan smirked and she tapped the ground scared of what would come next.

She’s been messing with A-Xuan since the first day but he ignored her. If he hadn’t locked himself in his room she would’ve easily destroyed his reputation.

Zhao Wei has a very strong fanbase and the whole realm knows her. Ming recommended she does everything she can to destroy his reputation.

She’s lucky that he didn’t make things more difficult for her. Paramedics were walking toward the dome while it was coming down.

A-Xuan used that opportunity to amplify his power. When the dome was completely down everyone looked at him shocked except Zhao Wei who ran away.

Now they understand why Zhao Wei was scared out of her mind. Anyone would be if they were stuck in a dome with such a powerful mage.

A-Xuan had a sweet smile on his face and a translucent blue leaf between his eyebrows. The 30 000 witches in the stadium could all feel his core’s power.

A-Xuan walked toward the king’s tribune, he bowed and said:

"Sorry, your majesty I forgot to bow."

Before starting a battle every witch would bow to the king.

The king was ready to vomit blood. His stupid son told him he was dealt with but it isn’t the case. He is even stronger than Li Guang’s description of him when he was a baby.

So what he somehow became stronger? His core could be felt in the entire enormous stadium. The mage he met wasn’t even a third as strong as him. He needs to die.

He can’t have someone that powerful not under his control. If he finds out he is his father and what he did he for sure will kill him.

Trying to kill any witch is punishable by death and no one is exempted from it.

Before the king and the royals were but after protests from witches about the disparity between them and the royals the king had to apply the same rules to everyone. It’s in the constitution.

A-Xuan can clearly kill him without suffering any consequences. If he also finds out that Ming tried to kill him he can kill him too which would make him the next in line for the throne. I’ll never let that happen.
