The CEO's Rose
Chapter 63: Mirror, mirror
Gwendolyn’s POV
There were many places in the world that Gwendolyn liked being in, (most of those had loads of sun and she could lounge around naked). But her absolute favorite place to be was her mirror room. How other people existed without such a necessary room she had no idea, ( most probably they were too ugly to think about it). But Gwendolyn was gorgeous, so she did not have such a problem.
Whenever she was going to be some place long-term, Gwendolyn always made sure to have a mirror room ready, mirrors on every wall and even on the ceiling. Knowing that she would be in the city for an indefinite period of time she’d already had one set up.
Now she was in the room, staring at the perfection that was herself. With how beautiful she was, it was a miracle that other women even managed to get average looks.
Wearing only her favorite mink coat, the fur soft against her naked skin, Gwendolyn spun in a slow circle, loving every reflection of herself.
No matter which mirror she looked at, the reflection that met her was beautiful. Blowing a kiss to herself, Gwendolyn smiled, the expression turning arctic as she remembered her problems.
As calm and beautiful as the outside was, the inside was in turmoil. She had gone to see Ryan dressed in a little black number that would have had him salivating at the sight of her in the past. But he had barely blinked, and when she had burst into tears, he had not risen to comfort her.
He had simply watched her, cold and uninterested, even when she had brought up the affair with his brother, Ryan had just continued to sit there and stare.
’Look at me, touch me, feel me,’ She had wanted to scream.
’I’m talking about how I had sex with your brother. I’m talking about cheating on you.
Why are you not reacting?!’ She had wanted to yell at him.
But ever professional, Gwendolyn had hung on, dedicating herself to her role until her audience had stood up and left.
Now feeling a pain in her heart, Gwendolyn let the coat fall, exposing her naked form.
A hand over her breast, she stared down at the gift. She had pestered Ryan for months to get it for her. Taking great pleasure in making him go against his stance on the use of animals as clothing. She had been so happy when he had finally bought it, that she had immediately rushed over to go and sleep with his younger brother while wearing it.
Now Ryan was pretending like all of that history did not exist between them. And in doing so, he was confirming her suspicions.
There really was someone else, someone who was trying to touch Ryan’s heart. Overcome by rage Gwendolyn went over to her ornate dresser and pulled out a lighter, not wasting any time.
She turned it on the coat, watching it catch fire with a sick sense of glee...destroying things always gave her joy.
The moment that it really started to burn, the smoke detector went off.
And within seconds, the maids were there, talking in panicked voices as they put the flames out. Still naked and not bothering to cover herself, (why should she cover perfection?), Gwendolyn watched them work.
When they carried the still smoking coat out, she watched them with disinterested eyes.
Her mind on something far more important...she had to find out which parasite had latched on to her man.
***
Freshly showered, and now smelling of flowers instead of burning fur.
Gwendolyn was once again in her mirror room. This time, she was standing in front of one particular mirror, covered only in her nightgown. Reaching out, she touched her reflection.
Smiling at what she saw there. Flawless skin, clear green eyes and luscious hair.
She was still beautiful.
More beautiful than any woman that Ryan Terrell had ever been with.
It was why he had fallen in love with her. And it was why he would fall in love with her again.
Sure, he was out there playing with whoever the other woman was. But once Gwendolyn was done with him, he would come crawling back to her.
They had too much holding them together to ever be apart.
He was the one that she had chosen to be hers, and to mark him completely Gwendolyn had reached into his chest, ripped out his heart and torn it to pieces.
No one could easily get over the type of pain that she had put him through.
He’d given her his heart and she had ruined him.
But no matter what, she was the first woman ever to hold Ryan Terrell’s heart in her hands.
And that meant it would always be hers.
She was the one who had torn it apart, which meant she was the only one who could hold it together.
He needed her to fix him. To soothe his pain until he forgot that she was the reason it was there in the first place.
That role was for her and her alone, no one else.
With a big smile on her face, Gwendolyn laughed and her reflection laughed with her.
All of the others doing the same, their shoulders shaking in unison.
The laughter cutting off, she became serious again.
Her fingertip on the mirror in front of her, she drew a little broken heart and smiled at it.
When she had slept with Ryan’s brother, she had known it would break his heart and she had done it with glee. Now she was going to find whoever this wannabe Mrs Ryan Terrell was, and she was going to tear the other woman apart.
Ryan was hers, the only reason that the two bit hooker that was currently attached to him, had managed to get her claws into Ryan was because Gwendolyn had been away for a bit.
Now that her four years of self-imposed exile were over, she would not be playing games with anybody.
Whoever the other woman was, if she had any sense of self-preservation in her, she would pack her things and leave Gwendolyn’s Ryan alone.
If she refused to leave, then Gwendolyn would make sure that the woman never got to leave.
That just like Ryan’s younger brother, she would remain as nothing more than a constant source of pain for Ryan.
How she would achieve that, she was not quite sure.
But she was going to destroy the other woman and when all was said and done, she would once again have Ryan Terrell in the palm of her hand right where he belonged.
