But Vera Xavier was the first girl Shane Caldwell had ever truly fallen for, and men always had their pride in such matters.

After he finished speaking, afraid that Nathaniel Nathan would beat him up, he turned around and bolted in a flash.

Nathaniel Nathan was a bit surprised by his reaction. In Nathaniel’s eyes, this version of Shane Caldwell was simply idiotic, pathetic, and laughable. He had come to help Vera Xavier get rid of a romantic suitor, but now it seemed this particular suitor wasn’t even worth his notice.

Having dealt with Shane Caldwell, Nathaniel Nathan’s mood improved greatly. He remembered the stone Vera Xavier had given him yesterday. When he got back last night, he’d tossed it to Ronan Tate and told him to find someone to cut it open. It should be about ready by now, so he decided to go have a look.

Ronan Tate was waiting for him on the side of the road by the grove. After Nathaniel got in the car, Ronan drove him directly to the stone processing factory.

Crestfall was a mountainous city, full of stone, but the stone held no jade or minerals. The stone processing factory, to put it bluntly, was just a place that polished stones flat to be used as foundation stones. It was the factory owned by Aaron Cheney’s uncle.

When Nathaniel Nathan arrived, Aaron Cheney was already waiting at the entrance. The moment he saw him, he shouted excitedly, "Third Bro! What took you so long?!"

Nathaniel Nathan frowned slightly, but Aaron Cheney was already saying happily, "We’ve ground down the stone! You have to come see! My uncle doesn’t dare touch it!"

Hearing this, Nathaniel Nathan immediately recalled what Vera Xavier had said to him before: "What if it turns out to be Emperor Green?"

His gaze deepened as he followed Aaron Cheney into the workshop with long strides.

Because it was something brought by Nathaniel Nathan, Aaron Cheney’s uncle, Yorke Young, treated it with extreme care. Fearing his workers would be clumsy and damage the stone, he cut it open himself. He was a very cautious man and knew nothing about things like jade, so he ground the entire stone down bit by bit.

He had been incredibly meticulous, so he hadn’t damaged the jade in the slightest.

When Nathaniel Nathan entered, he saw that the jade had been carefully revealed. A large piece of green sat on the desk, its dazzling color so vibrant it looked almost liquid. One glance was enough to be deeply captivated, and with that same glance, he recognized it as Emperor Green. A piece this size was already worth over ten million on the current market!

Seeing him approach, Yorke Young quickly said, "This jade must be top-grade jadeite. Young Master Nathan has a good eye."

Nathaniel Nathan’s feelings at that moment were complicated. Vera Xavier had said she didn’t know anything about jade, yet she casually buys a raw Chicken Blood Stone and it turns out to be a Full House Red, then she casually buys a raw jade stone and it reveals an Emperor Green. Her luck was simply off the charts.

He had originally planned on buying a cut piece of Emperor Green to make her happy, but now it seemed there was no need for that at all.

He reached out and took the jade in his hand. Holding it closer, he could see more clearly that the stone was a stunning, vibrant green, crystal clear and translucent without a single impurity. It was, in fact, a top-grade Emperor Green.

Aaron Cheney said excitedly, "Third Bro, when did you get into stone gambling? Take me with you next time!"

He had always been Nathaniel Nathan’s number one fan, so he wouldn’t find anything that happened to Nathaniel strange.

Nathaniel Nathan glanced at him and said, "This stone belongs to your third sister-in-law. You’ll have to ask her if she’ll take you along."
